I love the new skills (skiing, snowboarding, climbing), however, it makes it even weirder that almost all other training is included in "fitness". If they can add skiing and snowboarding skill, why didn't we get a swimming skill with Island living? Why are my weightlifting body builders automatically great runners?

The Sentiments is the most important part about the pack for me. Really the only thing I care about. I wish EA knew this. I wish EA knew I care to spend my money on DEEP character development and that they would just focus on that from here on out.

Oh... oh I'm actually so excited. This may end up being my favourite pack. It seems like they really paid attention to details and perhaps they really did listen to our requests and complaints? It just seems like this pack has a lot of gameplay features, like even if you don't care about the winter sports it's worth it imo

At first I thought it might very well be, but now after the livestream I’m not so sure. It looks good, don’t get me wrong, but there are a lot of little things that worry me. I can see snowboarding, rock climbing and skiing becoming too repetitive fairly quickly. The festivals seem way too similar to one another. When they were discussing the festivals in the stream, aside from the void critter hunt, they said almost nothing about gameplay regarding them, all they talked about were aesthetic differences and that isn’t adding anything to the game. The lifestyles concerned me after the gameplay trailer and what I saw today just confirmed it. They are way too similar to existing traits, and I didn’t see a single instance in the livestream where the lifestyles actually did anything to their actions. They’re like traits, they exist in name, but not actually affecting gameplay. The one big aspect that looks impactful (Based on what I saw) is sentiments, but the gurus confirmed that sentiments are coming in base game, not part of the pack. So the one major selling point that I saw is base game. The rest looks cool to play through for a little while, but I don’t see it impacting the game long term.

Liam Exists yes those all look really well done, but those are all aesthetic aspects. These have literally no impact on gameplay. What Sims 4 needs is deep, rich gameplay in packs, and I’m not seeing this pack bringing that to the table. Expansions are supposed to incorporate elements that expand on your gameplay from top to bottom, not merely add to it (i.e. the club system from Get Together, the calendar/weather from Seasons) and if lifestyles looks as inconsequential as they did in the livestream, this is yet another expansion that isn’t living up to what it’s supposed to accomplish. Aesthetics should come second to gameplay in terms of priority, but with The Sims 4 its consistently the other way around. I don’t care that the world looks stunning if I don’t have much of an incentive to stick around for more than hour or two, especially when you consider that they’re asking $40+ for it. It’s a builders dream, but they already have so much to work with while people who spend their time in live mode aren’t being given much to work with.

What are the other NEW gameplay features besides the snow sport activities??? Because all I have learned so far about this pack is that it recycles a bunch of features of previous packs that we already paid for (Spa Day, Fitness Stuff Pack, Closet woohoo animation, Perfect Patio stuff pack), there's not even an animation for Sims taking their shoes off when entering the house, how the hell are the Lifestyles being locked within a $40 expansion pack about traveling to a snowy world???, and we have like 3 new animations MAX in this pack (the hiking animation, the bowing animation,..). Besides a new pretty world that is pretty much non interactable, what else do we have??? What else that can justify this pack being a whole expansion pack and not a game pack??

My sims are usually such athletic people, I always have them start their morning with some yoga, and a run on the treamill. Im so excited to take them on this pack, that Aspiration is perfect for him. And Im really looking forward to reaching the top of the mountain and building a nice little hot springs area so they can rest at the top of the mountain :D

As someone currently living in Japan, and someone who has been fascinated by Japanese culture since I was a kid I am super excited about this pack. Also with the platforms, I can finally Update my "Concert" Lot to have a proper stage LOL. I won't be able to get the EP right away because I'm tight on money at the moment but as soon as I have an extra $40 to spend I will. Although I wish you can make kids in other worlds wear school uniforms to school if you wanted them too. Although I sometimes Just make an additional Everyday outfit for those moments and have them change that way. If I put the wall sign that makes Sims take their shoes off in all buildings I may just go around in my Main Neighborhood and do that to any house that sims live in :D! The Sentiments and Lifestyles are also exciting ways to have more in-depth sim personalities. And Snow Sports I CAN'T WAIT!

Yay! I am itching to start a new PT with an really active sim. Someone who goes to Mt Komorebi for skiing and climbing during the winter and then to Sulani during the summer for diving and sailing. Also, the harsh weather up on the mountain during hikes were really cool. Will be interesting to see how sentiments play out. I am a patron of Roburky and use Meaningful Stories in my game so it's been a long looong time since I played vanilla. Looking forward to seeing how modders will use the new system.

@@EnglishSimmer fetus is (well you should been knowing it for long but... ) it is in the uterus before it is a baby. Actually saying it is not a full growing baby but pre-born can happen and then it is in need of careful help from the clinics. Normal 9 months is 40 weeks. 31-39 to soon for giving birth. The 3 first days it's a zygot. (or a forming cell) but I think you already know this. Sorry if i was rude. Happy simming.

In my opinion I think tthe Lifestyles and Sentiments does make it into an EP, at least in TS4 terms (and yes, I know Sentiments are coming to base game, but it likely wouldn't be made without Snowy Escape, I don't think). And then there's the hot springs, too, since it's not just Japan that can have natural hot springs. To be fair, thought, at this point I'm not sure anymore if I'm imagining that TS3 packs were bigger, but either way TS4 expansions have been Like This for a while now. I think Get Together's world must've scarred someone for life

Sentiments and lifestyle don't give you any gameplay per say. Lifestyle are like memories . Sentiments are reaction feelings that you already have in game and can easily disguise it with other type of sentiments ..like say your sim gets mad and then he sees or does something that make him feel happy. The bad sentiment just disappears

@@RoyalUK2023 I do agree that it's kinda like memories! But I think it does give you gameplay, but you do have to want to play with sentiments and such and be kind of a storyteller. It doesn't give you much active gameplay and mini-events afaik, but it does give you gameplay. But I will agree that the bad sentiments are easily ignored because the emotions system is rigged and broken towards happy emotions especially. All in all they need to fix the emotions and maybe give sentiments more actice stuff like events, and they it'll be pretty cool!

@@kirstielouise7721 oh yeah, I know! But my honest thought is that sentiments wouldn't have been made without the pack, same with ladders and those pool lounge chairs. A lot of these updates with new animations, systems and whatnot usually come with a pack because it's more cost effective for EA so they'll get their money back quicker/easier. Otherwise it could simply not have been made since BG updates don't net them any extra money. I'm not gonna say I think it's fair, because I don't lol but EA is a company acting under capitalism so I don't expect them to act any different, especially not with their track record. What can you do
