We decided to go 2014 AWD CRV with the 5AT didn't want a CVT. Like the feel of the real AT and willing to sacrifice the MPG... But also the CVT was a bit too new to the CRV when be purchased and weren't sure on the reliability.. So 9 years old now and runs great.. Bit noisy on the inside, windows whistle, had to seal the 4 rear top hatch hidge bolts with silicon to keep from leaking into the spare tire truck area, and a bit to faux on the leather seats are my only complaints. But got a killer deal on it, such a nice driving car does everything competently well. Responsive driving, Easy to work on... As a drivers car it is great for what it is (economy utility small CUV).. Much better than its competitor Rav4 of the same generation.

Nice job - one test that would be nice here is if you could do a flat level accelerate from stop to simulate taking off from a stop light in snowy conditions. Make sense? Also, please advise if this is the same AWD system in the 2015 RDX and other honda vehicles. (AWD with Intelligent Control System)
@Naldynator10 жыл бұрын
First off, I just wanna say that I really enjoy your videos. Your reviews are great, informative and extremely relatable. I especially love your off-road reviews. That being said, are you sure about the CR-V being OK in the snow? I recently tried to get my mother's 2013 CR-V EX-L AWD up my snowy, sloped driveway here in the Hudson Valley, and it failed MISERABLY! It took me well over 20 minutes to, finally, get it up out of there! The CR-V's AWD system was acting like anything but. The rear wheels hardly did their job when the front ones were slipping, and the traction control was beeping all over the place and going nuts. The tires are in fine condition, so I couldn't blame them. The CR-V just didn't do well at all, and it couldn't simply get over and out of a sloped, snowy driveway! It felt like a huge, front-wheel-drive Civic. I was sorely disappointed. I took to the internet and found that others were having similar experiences, and even found a video of a test where a bunch of crossover/SUV's were being tested on rails to see how their systems worked. All the ones tested passed the test, except for the CR-V (it slid off the rails). Yet, here you are going all over this snowy course with the CR-V and saying it's good in the snow. Did Honda change the AWD system to make it better for 2015? BTW, after I was able to finally get my mom's CR-V out of my driveway, out of curiosity, I tested out my '14 Rogue SL AWD to see how well it would do (love doing this kinda stuff - can you tell you have my dream job?!?). Sure, there was pretty deep snow. Nevertheless, my Rogue got up and out of the driveway without a hitch! I tried it twice: once with the AWD left on automatic, and once with the AWD lock button on. It did better with the AWD lock button on, but in both modes, it went up and down the snowy, sloped driveway like an SUV should. It embarrassed the CR-V, and I immediately recommended that my mother get another crossover/SUV when her lease is up. After all, what's the point of getting an AWD drive vehicle if it can't even handle this kind of situation, especially here in the Hudson Valley? (On a side note, just this past weekend, we had an ice storm where my driveway ended up being covered in a sheet of ice. Our Rogue, once again, impressed by going up and down the driveway just fine. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law's Venza was hopelessly stuck.) So, again, is there something different with the CR-V's sytem for 2015? You mentioned in the review that the '14 model did OK in the snow, as well, and that's essentially the same as the 2013 model. I couldn't disagree more. (Honda's not paying you for this review, right? :-/) And, will you be doing an off-road/snowy review for the new Rogue? I'd love to see that! Thanks, Dave! Keep up the good work!

The CR-V is suppose to be one of the weakest of the most popular small SUVs but I'd say this video shows it it doesn't do half bad. I just traded in my 2010 4-motion Tiguan for a 2015 AWD CR-V. I wish you guys would retest an AWD Tig just to see how it truly compares.

Instead of lane watch via camera they could have given a light indicator on the mirror or inside the A pillar to indicate a vehicle is present on the blind spot on both passenger and driver sides. That lane watch comes only after you hit the right indicator and not left/driver side indicator (makes sense or the driver will be confused) but an light indicator via sensor would have made the driver more comfortable not to mention more confident and relaxed. A beep to indicate along with red light would have been icing on the cake. During the night, especially when you are trying to overtake the beam from the car behind is a pain on the camera inside since you cannot see anything anyways. That camera is a waste during the night time!

Vibration issue of Honda CRV LX AWD 2015: ==================================================================== I have brought a Brand New Honda 2015 CRV AWD LX Model from one of the Honda dealer in NJ.From the day one, i noticed some vibration on the front seats of the car when i am at the STOP sign/signal with car is in the drive mode (D) with my foot on the brake paddle. The vibration is random and not always but can be feel at the back of your body and it is very strong sometime that as a driver you get distracted and feel very uncomfortable while driving. If you have to are stuck in some traffic jam and have to stop longer then the vibration on both the front seat is quite noticing and causes irritation on the back and you cannot sit for long in while the seats vibrating. When I reported the incident to Honda Car Dealer...... ========================================================== As soon as I notice the issue with my car then I quick to reported to the sales person who sold me this car. Initially I thought that the problem could be with my car only so I went to the dealer and able to duplicate the problem and showed it to their technician on 24th NOv 14.The technician took the vehicle for test drive and called me after an hour to share his conclusion. Dealer took another brand new 2015 honda CRV LX AWD, stood in front of my car and showed me that this vehical also have the similar issue like yours.I was quite surprised to see the same vibration in another vehicle. Based on the test drive and comparating my car with other New 2015 Models , the dealer concluded that this problem is there in all new honda crv 2015.They told me they are helpless and cannot do anything and asked me to contact American Honda as this is coming with all similar models .He gave me service sheet and mentioned everything on it. He was not sure but said it could be software issue . He indicated that the TECHOMETER that shows the RPM value is from where the problem is occurring. When the issue occurs in the car due to stop state the RPM on the technometer has less value as compare to when the issue does not occur. The RPM value on the tachometer is “0.6” when the vibration DOES OCCUR and the RPM value on the technometer is “0.9” when the issue DOES NOT occur. This variation could be due to direct injection technology. The dealer indicated to me that this could be due to the new CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) Transmission engine in new CRV’s of Honda. When I reported to the Manufacturer American Honda..... ======================================================== I called American Honda(not one time but several times), they gave me the case number and told me to go to the dealer to fix the issue. I told them that i went to the dealer and they find the issue in the vehicle. I got a call from some Mr Mohammad(case manager) who represented himself as RM for NJ area.Without doing anything he closed my case#N012014-11-1902878, i called again and asked them to open the case. Mr Mohammed called me again and told me that this is one of the characteristic of HOnda CRV(vibration issue) , i mean he told vibration is a designed functionally and i have to live with this like all other users are living. I told him that my driving get distracted and i feel a sense of discomfort. He said he cannot help . I asked him to escalate but he said, we don’t have any escalation level and i am the only one with whom you can talk. I said to provide the email or phone of management so as to talk to them but he did not provide me the information and CLOSED my case without my consensus and said we are helpless. i called again to reopen the case , same Mr Mohammed called me again and without listening to me he closed the case again and washed off his hand from the issue. Unfortunately the manufacturer is not ready to listen to my problem and i am very sad and frustrated the way my case was handled by American honda.I have never expected such type of attitude of American Honda where they want to push the matter under the carpet , in spite of appreciating the positive feedback from its customer. When I reported to the Honda Headoffice in Tokyo: ======================================= I wrote a letter and reported to their headoffice in Tokyo but they turned blind eye and did not help me .

While I don't like cr-v's ive driven my mom's when my car died. I have to say it is a soccer moms car it is perfect just that way. If your a guy don't get caught in these unless u have a good reason. But seeing this review "off road" more of country town road its not half bad. It could be alot better but most soccer moms are afraid of snow.

If you need a car to define your masculinity then you need a shrink...not a rugged 4x4.

I´ll give it a couple of years before buying this car with CVT... that transmission was originally designed for the FWD accord, so im concerned with durability with an AWD vehicle
