I've got a 2014 CR-V AWD and it's been great in the snow thus far. I've been impressed how quickly it'll send power to the right wheels when it sense's traction loss. I don't think they changed anything from 2013-14 so I'm a little shocked to see it do so badly here.
@4x4.tests.on.rollers3 жыл бұрын
There's low friction cooficient on snow, so not much torque is needed to spin the wheels without grip, that's different situation, much easier for the clutch-pack.
@4x4.tests.on.rollers4 жыл бұрын

From an Engineer's POV, the 2013 model was tested in a dusty area, when dust and sand particles accumulate on steel rollers traction will decrease hence it will be very hard for the tires to have contact with the rollers.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers - I skipped to the more "challenging" parts. The issue with 4th generation AWD is well documented ( www.carthrottle.com/post/attention-all-honda-owners-your-4x4-crv-might-not-be-a-4x4-after-all/ ). Honda's response was lame.
@4x4.tests.on.rollers4 жыл бұрын
@@tocrob Yes, I remember that story. In fact Honda admitted that awd clutch-pack of 4th gen would fall into pieces under load. In 5th gen they changed that and now it can hold 57% more torque. So they also proved that their response was pure babble.
