“It’s a movie I saw.” - The Entertainment Guy They should slap that on the poster

I think we’re all just getting tired of the sequels, remakes and lame attempts at nostalgia. Come up with something new, Hollywood. The first Beetlejuice was a classic. And it seems the only defining characteristic of this decade and century when it comes to films is butchering classics and having nothing new to contribute. Disney has been doing the live action remakes for a while now. Nobody has any new ideas. Some of these remakes will surprise us and be decent, but ultimately, they all lack originality and don’t define a generation. Every generation has had movies they can say defined them. Until we get to the last decade, maybe 2. Someone just hit the repeat button and forgot to turn it off. It’s like a wrestling promotion that keeps bringing back guys from 20 years ago to main event their biggest show of the year because they haven’t made any new stars.’. It’s not like we haven’t seen that before.

Saw it with a few other people Saturday night. My biggest thing was that they didn't really do anything with Delores! One specific scene seemed to go on for too long, too. It was a chaotic movie, especially with the ending. Anyway, everything Catherine O'Hara said was funny, and Jenna Ortega was phenomenal. It's hard for me to dislike anything she's in since I've had a crush on her forever. I'd probably give it a 7/10.

I just saw this movie tonight, too. I kinda feel the same way. It wasn’t horrible, but I’m not sure I liked it. It feels like there were multiple rewrites, some by people who saw the original once 30 years ago (or said they did but only actually read a summary). And for the special effects, I think they were going for the campy/throwback to 50’s B movies of the original, but with so much CGI (as opposed to makeup or stop motion animation), it was veering more towards AI quality. If they’d had a shoestring budget instead, I think it would’ve made a better movie. Then maybe they would have taken the time to pick a tone.

yeeeah, i hear ya. I think it started off really strong...and just about 45ish minutes in it peaked and then went aallll downhill. Too many plot points set up and none had a satisfying payoff...and to properly pay them off, they had to just rush so much. Simplifying would have made the film more fun, funnier, and fulfilling.

The last time I went to the movies was Wonder Woman. Not 1980 WW, the first one. There's just nothing worth watching anymore.

Honestly don’t believe will see a 3rd one because they wanna be creative with the fact you can’t say his name three times. So they’ll just keep it a max of two times
@zachhall8043Ай бұрын
Imagine them making a third and the whole film is just a blank screen

I personally enjoyed the movie because I am coming out of the disappointment of the crow reboot, which completely undermined the entire franchise. It was fun and something to do for the two hours.

I saw this the second day it was out. I liked the movie as a whole… the two things I would say is the dance scene (not the Ortega one) I found to be super drawn out, and the ending was a bit confusing yes, however I liked the nostalgic parts that was a throw back to the original. The ortega dance was not a big part but it had to happen, and with o’hara it made it epic in my eyes… I’d say 7. Not the best movie I’ve seen, but not the worst either. Can’t wait for your review tomorrow :) cheers

I believe Matrix4 happened because the studio told the Wachowski sisters, we're making this movie with or without you. So they said ok, here we go.

Saw it tonight. Never saw the original. It was fine. Ortega was good. Storyline was chaotic but that’s what I expected. I enjoy the creativity in these kind of movies. 6/10 rating.

Shannon, This was Tim Burton finally getting back to a true Burton film. It was great. Did we need it? Of course not. But, it was funny, really weird and bizarre and that made it great!

There were WAY too many subplots. Plots A,B and maybe C were fine. But to add D,E and F? Winona, Catherine and Jenna are great. I mean, I've heard criticisms of how Lydia's character isn't anything like the teenaged Lydia. Of course she is, were you the same as you were 36 years ago? If you're old enough. Much like Delia though, there's some of the characters they've portrayed in the interim, in them. I see some of Moira Rose in this iteration of Delia Deetz. There's some of Joyce Byers in this iteration of Lydia Deetz. As there is some of Wednesday in Astrid. Michael Keaton is Michael Keaton, and you can never recast Beetlejuice. He had 17 minutes of screen time in the first one, and he used it perfectly. He also requested to have limited screen time in this one. And they complied. It seems like it was more than 17 mins though. Monica Belucci still look fantastic and she was criminally underused. Why use her at all? Her character could've been left out and it would not it have affected the movie in any appreciable way. 2.5 stars out of 5.

I have a crush on Jenna Ortega which makes it hard to take her serious in movies because I fanboy hard for her. But Micheal Keaton was fun.

As a Matrix fan, don't waste your time on the fourth movie. My wife and I watched it and we were left just going "what was that?" or "this wasn't needed". We both wanted to like it but it just wasnt good.

Slow at times, no natural flow at all, some funny moments. Keaton was still good. Overall, like C+.
