Spazz Invader I can’t speak from experience as I’ve never driven a manual Genesis Coupe before, but I’ve talked to a few R-spec owners and some of them don’t have any issues at all with their tranny and others complain about grinding, 2nd gear lock out, all those other common issues you hear a lot about on the forums. I guess it’s just hit or miss on whether you get a good or bad transmission with the manual from factory and the auto’s not perfect either but they do seem to hold up a bit better than the manuals. That being said, you can’t go wrong with either or, just be aware that you may experience issues with either of the 2 depending on how you treat it.

2nd gear lockout is real. I installed the Megan transmission mount about 2 days ago and it made a world of difference. In fact, every gear pulls harder now, and for some reason, sounds better. Driving a manual is like learning how to draw. Nothing wrong with not knowing how, but it's a nice skill to have. So it's up to you.
