You can try a honey mask, I’m wearing one right now lol, just take some honey splatter it on your face, it has antioxidants or something like that so it’s good for the skin, also if you have hyperpigmentation add some tumeric, but i don’t have acne just some bumps here in there, i am also 14 so lucky me lol, but if you have acne go to a dermatologist

My skin is not a fan of most Cerave products. I use Vanicream Gentle Cleanser, LaRoche Posay Double Moisturizer, Elta MD UV Clear sunscreen, a couple gentle serums from The Ordinary and Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion for the rest of my body. I’ve found that the fewer ingredients a product has, the better my sensitive skin likes it.

LOVE the vanicream gentle cleanser so much, it’s helped my rosacea so much by being so gentle. i noticed that even cerave and neutrogena gentle cleansers irritated my skin way too much and made my eyes sting.

I could go eat fast food on weekly basis with no acne, or eat healthy and get more acne. To me, it doesn’t make a difference as long as I keep my skin care routine

It works differently for everyone. Many people don't find it has any effect on them. However many other people find that it does have effect on their skin. My recommendation is that if your skincare isn't working/working as well as they used to is to cut out some foods that are "common" triggers such as skim milk, sugar, white rice, white bread, etc. and see how your skin reacts to it.

Noa Shaham honestly it can help but it won’t give the immediate transformative effect they’re usually expecting. Using just niacinimide on its own takes time before you see dark spots start to fade and ceremides don’t make much difference to dark spots.if they used specific serums then they’ll see differences the job of a moisturizer is to moisturize you can’t expect much from it especially one as simple as that

It definitely does help with dark spots. I've had acne scars and painful acne since high school and I'm 32 now. I started using cerave and the ordinary niacinamide 2 weeks ago and my skin has never looked better. Rey U the hydrating facial cleanser is sooooo good. My skin had super dry patches on my cheeks and it helped hydrate it so well. My nose is also a bit oily but it didn’t hydrate it too much or make it oilier. I started out once a day then moved to twice a day then back to once a day and my skin is so soft now.

2 things Hyram didn't say; 1. Always do patch test. (Take a small amount of the product and use either at the back of your ear or on top of ur elbow. Those skins are similar to ur face and people won't see it. Wait at least 24 hours or more, if it does have negative effects, discontinue use of the product and do something else with it) 2. PLEASE buy travel size or the smallest size you can get of the product just in case it didn't work dor u.

Thank you for going over this! Love your vids, Hyram! Cerave worked for a while on me when I was going off Pr**ctive and I was feeling the nuclear fallout of my skin barrier from constantly bombarding it with Benzoyl Peroxide for 5 years. My skin was so bad and I didn't know wtf was going on, and Cerave helped balance it for a bit and simplified my skincare regimen so I could isolate the ingredients I was sensitive to. Then in 2020 I started forming tiny bumps from the cetearyl alcohol in my Cerave PM moisturizer and foaming cleanser, stopped using those and replaced it w/ C*rology. My bumps disappeared (and though I still have dark scars from when I picked RIP), I'm still loving C*rology and still use the Cerave AM moisturizer and sunscreen. Cerave still a staple and might continue to be if I break up w/ C*rology lol

Hyram, I love that you are so knowledgeable in the skin care industry. My daughter has been a fan of yours for quite some time. She came to me saying we had to purchase CeraVe so that she could have better ingredient skin washes & moisturizers. She even had me watch your KZbin post regarding the benefits. We went out, purchased, she started using the products, her face started looking better. However, there was still some underlying issues. Took her to see a Dermatologist, they also recommended using CeraVe, but placed her on Tretinoin. She had been using that very conservatively after what the Derm had told her to use. She did go through the phase were it got worse before it got better. Still, she wasn't happy with the outcome after almost a year and a half. She's begged and begged to start Curology. I finally said okay since the Tretinoin wasn't working. She didn't want to go back to that Derm due to her own reasons. She has only used the product since the start of the week when it came in. She immediately went in washed her face and crossed her fingers that she would start seeing results. I informed her that it may take a little while as her skin needed to get acclimated to the use of a different product. Today is Wednesday, 2 days after the initial start and she is seeing a difference in her skin for the better. She handed over her CeraVe products to me... I use the same products that she had been using so that didn't go to waste. I am crossing my fingers that the Curology continues to work for her. I'm not going to jump up and down just yet and say yes, it's definitely working and has completely wiped out all of her acne. I need to see that it is a continuous process and then we can cheer. Anyway... Thank You for always giving out different product choices, making your viewers aware of what may be the safest products and what would be the biggest No No products out there on the market. I wish, as a parent, I had known about some of those No No products growing up. I had used some of them not knowing they could actually be causing more issues for my skin. I have learned so very much from watching your channel. Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

Please note, be completely honest with yourself when answering the questions. If you're not going to be honest with yourself in your answers, then you're only going to be a detriment to yourself. I told this to my daughter as well. She didn't feel comfortable with taking the pictures process; however, I told her that the only person who would see the picture besides the two of us, would be the person with Curology, they are not there to judge, they are there to help. So with that being said, she let me take the photos... she had to approve it before I sent it... also telling her that no matter what.. I believe that she is beautiful inside and out. Not being biased, just knowing her the way that I do, the way her friends see her, her peers, teachers, co-workers. So no matter what her results would be She is Beautiful. Once again, good luck with your Curology journey Tylor. We all deserve to have beautiful, healthy, glow within skin. 😊

I absolutely hated every cerave product I used (salicylic acid cleanser, foaming cleanser, even moisturizer) but I switched back to cetaphil and my face is so clear again! Skincare it’s one size fits all, and I am still able to incorporate other products hyram recommends, like the ordinary!

Your skin was probably purging meaning it got out all the stubborn acne out. So then your skin got worse but then in the end got clear. It happened to me.

Love the attitude of stick with it a bit before you pivot. When I started CeraVe and curology (tretinoin) my skin was so upset- worse than it had been prior. But within like 2 months things really calmed down. Almost 2 years later with the same routine and I don’t feel the need to wear foundation most days (not perfect but no texture and rare blemishes). I am SO glad I didn’t give up because this routine is simple, affordable and MOST IMPORTANT it worked. I just needed patience. Love you Hyram 🤗

Thanks for the suggestions. I bought the Cera ve oil control cleanser when the craze was out on tik tok. I’ve been using it pretty consistently for about two months now, night and day. Hello POCs! I think Hyram is very informative and good at what he puts out on social media (he’s the reason I started to take better care of my skin);however, because our skin is obviously different, we need to avoid certain ingredients. I suggest that y’all watch Vanita Rattan. She is a skincare specialist that focuses specifically on hyperpigmentation and products that we should/shouldn’t be using. Thanks for this video Hyram! My skin reacted badly to the Cerave moisturising lotion and I thought it was a whole bunch of things (fungal skin infection, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris) , changed my body wash and laundry detergent, got prescribed topical steroids, before I even considered the Cerave lotion as a possible cause and stopped using it. I wanted so much for it to be my new favourite moisturiser and I just believed that Cerave could do no wrong. Back to Cetaphil now, my skin is more sensitive and prone to breakouts now than it was before. But ah well, life goes on and the skincare search continues!! xx

When people say cerave didn’t “work” for them, I think the problem is they’re putting too much trust in it and believing it’s a miracle product. The ingredients are very gentle. Most of them are not meant to heal acne, but cleanse and hydrate your skin gently so that you have a good base to work with. As someone who struggled from really bad cystic acne, you NEED active ingredients that are meant to actually treat and heal pimples. For most people, cerave is a good start, but you have to use other treatments to get real results! Edit: Just to clarify, when I say “gentle” I don’t mean that everyone will tolerate the ingredients or that they won’t irritate some people’s skin, I just mean that the ingredients in the most popular cleansers aren’t strong enough to really have any significant affect on active acne

I've had acne for ages and it's taken me 3-4 years to get to a place where I'm happy with my skin. Switching products too often and trying too many at once was definitely a big mistake I made in the beginning of my skincare journey. Be gentle and patient with your skin and hang in there!

Yes!!! Haha these products are great unless you're allergic, lol. I recently discovered that an ingredient in the Cerave Foaming Face Cleanser (Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine) gives me HORRIBLE swollen and itchy eyes. The ingredient is created using DMAPA, which can cause severe eye allergies in some people. But Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and their Moisturizing Lotion still work great for me since they don't contain that ingredient. If you are trying to pinpoint what is causing your bad reaction, check out Dr. Dray's video "Skin allergies & dermatitis tips Q+A".

Talking to your parents about skincare is huge. I had a talk with my mom about how bad my acne was and how I hated it and she let me purchase some skin care, and I was able to completely heal my acne after that talk with her. Just talk to them, it helps a ton.

Shania20 I started off with the cetaphil daily cleanser, stridex sensitive skin toner pads, and cetaphil lotion. I kept it really simple and did this routine only at night and cut back on my makeup use and I saw results really fast.
