Bobby Darin started his career as a songwriter for "Connie Francis". He was a singer, musician & actor. He performed all styles of music such as jazz, pop, rock & roll, folk, swing, & country music. He had many hits from the late 50's-60's such as "Splish Splash", "Dream Lover", "Things", "You're The Reason I'm Living", "18 Yellow Roses", "If I Were A Carpenter" etc. Darin married actress Sandra Dee in 1960 whom he met while filming the movie "Come September". Darin suffered from poor health his entire life & died in 1973 at the age of only 37.

Bobby Darin gave an unbelievable performance in a film called " Captain Newman M.D ." for which he got an Oscar nomination .

When I was a kid, in the late sixties and early seventies, my great aunt and uncle owned a bar. My grandfather, father, and uncle tended bar at one point or another. We'd go on a Saturday, and my grandmother and great aunt cooked up some food, and the family hung out. Us kids would play pinball and shuffle board and drop a dime in the jukebox, 3 songs for a dime, I'm pretty sure this was one of the 45s in there.

What?!!! You cut off the end of the song. There's more after Bobby carries the long note. Go back and listen. Have to say though, you're the only reactor that I've heard that knows this song comes from The 3 Penny Opera. Good for you! Mack the Knife is such an up beat fun song about murder. Many who react don't get the connection.
