I agree that a B4 mount on this camera would be terrific. I would consider buying one myself for certain uses, although I love my two URSA Broadcast G2s.

The Ursa Broadcast is a great camera (a bit heavy) but it demonstrates that @blackmagic Design KNOWS the value of the B4 mount, they KNOW how to do it, so why not put it on a Studio camera?

Ok, Anthony, I'm 100% with you. If that camera supported B4 lenses I'd own at least six of them right now. Has anyone ever buttonholed Grant Petty and gotten a real answer as to why BM doesn't make this one, seemingly trivial adjustment? I'd fly to Australia to take that meeting! Let's start a movement!!! Who's with me???

Som to NAB and we'll buttonhole him together.

I use camcorders for my sports productions. And this would actually be game changer to get b4 mounts it will make like entry to broadcasting even lower.

Exactly, this thing is such a small camera with such powerful capabilities, being able to use a real broadcast lens, and there are thousands out there that are so affordable right now, is just a missed opportunity to sell these cameras by the thousands.

exactly my opinion, doing sports too and i would buy it if there would be b4 version OR usefull lenses for the actual mft one.

The Ursa broadcast G2 will work with the zoom and focus demand with b4 lens
@StreamTeknology8 ай бұрын
Yes, it will. However, rigged up for Studio use, it's many more times expensive, larger, heavier, requires beefier tripods, and uses multiple components do do what the Studio cameras do right out of the box.
@TarekSaneh8 ай бұрын
You are definitely correct, but i think they are keeping the b4 mount only for the ursa broadcast because this is the only reason that ppl are still buying the ursa broadcast instead of the studio cameras
@StreamTeknology8 ай бұрын
@@TarekSaneh Well, you can't really use the studio cameras "on-shoulder" so they really serve two different markets - field, and studio. Imagine how many more studio cameras they could sell with the ability to use a proper B4-mount studio lens.
@TarekSaneh8 ай бұрын
Correct, when blackmagic introduced the studio 6k i was very disappointed that it doesn’t have changeable b4 mount like the ursa broadcast, its a missed opportunity for them

It actually works with 7 ... if you use a Metabones adapter for the last 3 :)

@@StreamTeknology Canon CN-E 18-80mm T/4.4 L IS, CN-E 70-200mm T/4.4 L IS and as of BMD camera firmware 8.1, the Studio cameras (unfortunately not the Pocket series) also support the Canon EF-S 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM with the Canon PZ-E1 power zoom adapter (this always worked for focus demand, but zoom control was not possible until camera firmware 8.1). Those three lenses will work on the Studio 4k cameras with a Metabones Speedbooster, on top of the two Lumix and the two Olympus lenses. Given, the two CN-E lenses are a bit pricey.

It is an issue. I'd love to see a B4 mount and a jack for the lens' cable.
