'Shout it Out Loud' Live at Tiger Stadium in '96 (official music video) is probably the best few minutes of what being at a KISS show is like. This was right when the original four had reunited for several years, and it's just really fun to see the fans in this all wearing the makeup. 'I Still Love You', from MTV Unplugged is possibly Paul's best live vocals, very powerful. And one more: "Rocket Ride', sung by Ace Frehley, plenty of cosmic guitar. This song was actually played by just Peter Criss on the drums, and Ace on all the guitars and bass.

This may be sacrilegious, but MTV Unplugged is my favorite album of theirs. They took it very seriously and didn't want to half ass it by playing only partially acoustic like some bands in the series were doing. I played the hell out of that CD ...like A LOT. My kids are 35 and 33 and they can sing along verbatim primarily because of how much I played THAT CD over and over and over again. To be fair, I owned every album and am a music LOVER so they probably would have anyway 😁

My sister and I finally saw the original 4 in the 90s on a big OG KISS tour. We were disappointed at first, because our seats were off to the side, but realized when they started that we could see back stage! We watched Gene prep his blood in a Dixie cup, and pour it into his mouth before going on stage for his big blood-spitting bass solo. It was AWESOME!!

I just remembered the paper "Love Gun" that came with the album. And the comic book that was supposed to have their blood in the ink. Wow .these songs always remind me of when I was a kid. My best friend at the time and I would grab any album and crank it up, sing as loud as we could, and dance like no one was watching. They have an album which was peculiar, they tried to do an album that was going to be for their rock opera, like "Tommy" was for The Who. The songs are very different from their regular ones. Most fans seemed to hate it. Wasn't my favorite, but it did show off their versatility. It was "The Elder." I am not necessarily saying do a reaction, I more think you could listen to as a whole. The songs were written to basically flow into each other. One more childhood memory, dont know if you can find it, but the did a movie, "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" and it is about as kitchy as one can get, I highly recommend watching it, not to review, but it is so funny. Did you know they did solo albums, but still as KISS, each album showcased that member. The covers were fantastic too. Sorry this so long, that song opened a torrent of memories. Love that you love KISS, to watch you reactions, it's kind of looking at myself as I discovered each song, most of what you do is familiar to me, I get so nostalgic. ❤

I've seen them from the back of a closed venue, the middle of an open venue, the pit of both...your ears ring about the same 😁 I'm 53 and I have been to MANY concerts and love music (play it a little too loud in a closed vehicle) so I had my hearing checked a couple of weeks ago. The doctor told me that my hearing is great. He said, you can hear, but you can't listen...what the?? Turns out I have a mild auditory processing disorder so when I say "what?" it's not because I've blown my eardrums like I've thought for years, it's because my brain is going too fast to register what you've just said 😂 So I will continue to blast my music as all the ringing ears over the years apparently didn't do all the harm they said it would 😁

KISS is a great band to see live. The energy from the fans is so infectious. Their farewell tour was interrupted/delayed by COVID but should resume soon if it hasn't already. If you are unable to catch a show, there are several concert videos from various stages of their career that you can watch. It's still a fun watch. it's also fun to watch the different videos and see how they progressed over the years. KISS never skimped on their shows (once they had money), they are always a full-blown production.

Paul Stanley, who sings lead vocals on the song, has claimed in several interviews since its release that it is one of his favorite Kiss songs, offering the opinion that "'Love Gun' is quintessential Kiss, and is probably one of the five signature essential Kiss songs.] Stanley has also said that "The Hunter" section of the Led Zeppelin song "How Many More Times" inspired the lyrics of "Love Gun". Stanley plays bass on the track in addition to singing and playing rhythm guitar. Billboard described it as having a "high energy level" with "power guitar riffs."Cash Box said that it "has cute lyrics, and the army of Kiss admirers should jack it up to respectable chart status." "Love Gun" has been played on every Kiss tour since its release, and has made numerous appearances on Kiss live albums and compilation albums, despite the fact that it peaked at only no. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Guys, guys, guys; with KISS you need to react to the live versions of the songs instead of just the audio. Here, this is a better version kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqGagIWmfq9on5Y

So glad you all appreciate KISS. Love Gun is a great example of all four member's contributions. This is a classic for sure. Ace's riff, Peter's drum solo, the deep baseline Gene strums and the Paul's screeching vocals are a perfect mix. When I saw them in 2000 in Dallas with Aerosmith they did the cannons of fire during Love Gun (outside venue, Smirnoff Arena) and it was so amazing. They had so much energy I couldn't believe it! I was tired before they were, and I was a fan in the crowd. How they did it in their costumes, makeup, high heels and for so long is truly a testament to their musicianship, professionalism, personal shape they are in and commitment to the fans. There will never be another KISS.

KISS turned a lot of us onto rock & roll. In 1975, I was 6 years old, rummaging through my uncle's room looking for comic books. Instead, I found the 'KISS Alive' album & was a KISS fan from then on!

Saw KISS in 77 and AC/DC opened for them. Bon Scott and the boys! A KISS concert was an experience that especially at that time was like no other. They were putting on productions, with the lights, pyro, blood spitting, fire breathing that we hadn't seen before! The energy they put out on stage just amped the crowd up to try and match them. Definitely Influenced me musically!

I'm sure Amber will love this song MORE if she hears the version they did with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra of Australia. The horns of the orchestra add a very impressive touch. Another great one off this album is Shock Me with Ace Frehley on lead vocals. Congratulations Jordan on finally getting your axe bass. I'd love to hear you play.

From what I understand, Gene Simmons discovered Van Halen playing in a club and signed them soon after. You guys are great at critiquing each song. The best in my opinion. Consider posting a video on the following... Since you have played Skillet once you need to listen to 2 more of their songs.. *Skillet - Hero *Skillet - Whispers in the Dark Another Christian group that hit the mainstream radio back in their day was DC Talk. The band members Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait and Kevin Max eventually took their careers solo and now they are still active as lead singers for The Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline and Toby Mac. They had many hit songs and won many awards. Including in 1998 when their song Colored People won the Dove Award for video of the year. A year after winning the same award for their song Jesus Freak. *DC Talk - Colored People Other great songs to consider "Information Society - What's on your mind "Eva Cassidy - Time after time "Styx - Lady "Styx - Angry young man "Saga - Wind Him Up (the 5:46 version is better than the original music video) "Kansas - Carry on my wayward son

KISS was my first ever Rock concert you guys! I was in 7th grade. I saw them in a fairly small arena in Wichita Kansas. I couldn't believe it. It was outrageous. I'm not actually the biggest fan but wow, that was mind-blowing for a first concert and even though they were other people pioneering glam rock at the time, and it seemed to be something that wouldn't go over with the kind of environment I was raised in, they were just so over the top that it really worked. And the funny thing is, the next day at school, everybody was asking had anybody been to the KISS concert and it was me and another dude that had been there but I wasn't seated with him or anything I didn't go with him. We turned out to be the only two and so we were like oh brother were you there? And so forth you know it was a great moment. And then everybody started asking us, well what was it like? And mind you this was in that short break right before class starts and the teacher wasn't in there yet. And this is the strangest thing ever. This other guy looked at me and I looked at him and we almost we're reading each other's minds and we both instantaneously jumped up on this table and started rocking out back to back playing air guitar and everybody was yelling and screaming and then the teacher came in and it was all over, laugh. What a funny first Rock Concert Experience. And by the way, you guys always crack me up. And Amber, the more I see you, you've got to be one of the most beautiful women on the planet in this really natural sincere way, and of course J, you are well put together and always on point and I can totally see you as a coaching type. Love it. You guys really are fun.

You mentioned those who have seen KISS live. I am proud to say that I have been a fan since 1975. I was seven years old when my big brother bought KISS Alive. I loved listening to Rock stations, and I loved horror. Suddenly here was a band that rocked hard and looked like scary clowns! What more could a seven year old ask for? KISS was the first rock concert I saw. December 14th, 1979 in Huntsville AL. Dynasty Tour. I saw them again January 1983 in Chattanooga, TN. creatures of the Night Tour. Then I saw them in Atlanta, GA in 1996, the reunion tour, when all the original members came back and the make-up returned. Every show was magical! I hope both of you get to see them live. Seeing them live on screen is great, but being there is amazing!

From one member of the KISS Army, the logo was my first tattoo, to another if you want to hear some great Gene Simmons bass then check out the live 1975 (the band is only 2 or 3 years old at that point) performance of Deuce. It is in San Francisco and Gene's bass is so thick and heavy! It's a great sound. Also Ace just rips on the guitar in this performance as well.

Ahhhhh yesssss one of the main bands that got me thru my childhood. From 74-79 they were just incredible, after that they kind of lost their way due to Gene and Paul's egos and Peter and Ace's alcohol and drug abuse. Pre "79" Kiss should be the main focus for anyone that wants to know more about and get into the REAL Kiss. Their first album was completely full of some of their best work, Strutter, Nothin to Lose*, Firehouse, Cold Gin*, Deuce*, 100,000 years*, Black Diamond*, and my personal favorite *Let Me Know** and that was just one album!!! This is Kiss when they were young and extremely hungry and the 8 songs anyone wondering about Kiss should listen to first. It's a deep rabbit hole to go down and I hope you continue. Peace

You’re doing yourself an injustice by NOT watching live performances of their music. Kiss is a visual band. There’s nothing like hearing and SEEING 35,000 people singing along with Paul Stanley to a song about his “love gun” - that’s true rockstar status.

Great to hear that kiss could be your all time favorite band. My 20 year old son and I were never lucky enough to see the four original members perform together in concert but we have been lucky enough to meet all four original members and get autographs. Back on 2-26-19. I took my then 16 yr old son and his then 17 year old girlfriend, now wife to a show in okc on their end of the road tour. A highlight was when after the concert my son’s wife said that was awesome!
