It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a performance where I’ve been able to wear my wallaby jersey confidently walking through Bondi. Us die hards are few and far between in Australia these days… but man it felt good to hear people shout “wallabies are back!” from a passing car or the mutual fist pumps with complete strangers as I walked along the beach… we’ve had a tough road the last 20 years, but for the first time in what seems like forever we got to be proud of our team again. Important few years ahead for Australia that’ll make or break the game here. We needed this, let’s hope it’s the start of something special.

When I was young I hated losing to NZ in anything but again it's just that competitiveness... These days specially lately with Australia having no chance, im hoping NZ win, and if not them then SA, even in 2015 Wallabies lost but I was glad All blacks were the side who d8d. I'd never Like to see our 2 countries merge into 1, keep the two seperate, I also do not like the current migration laws we have between the 2, allowing all citizens from both countries the right to freely move and live in either is problematic, it allows opportunity for bad actors from government, NGO's to general population. An easy Fix would be free travel for anyone born in Australia or NZ and migrants only after 5 or even 10 years in host country . . . And anyone having lived 10 or 20 years has full citizen rights matter what passport.. stop new Zealand laxer immigration laws seen as a broken back door By Aussies and stop Australia deporting any undesirable with NZ links and seen as disrespectful and using NZ as a dumping ground .

The foundations have been definitely building throughout the year. The second Argie test was a setback but even that made things feel like 1996 again when they'd come off a poor RWC in SA, got belted by the All Blacks and started their repair back to 99 RWC glory 🙏

Based off that performance, I'm confident you'll beat wales, and i reckon you've got a good shot at Scotland. I got a feeling that ireland is gonna be the decider.

@@AbeHopwood from a Wallabies perspective - certainly hope so. But inconsistency has plagued our game for the last 2 decades - we got a way to go to put that beast to bed

Maybe Schmidt will help with the consistency. That was something he brought to Ireland at the time. Before him they were much more liable to have done absolute shockers and afterwards the losses were more like flat performances but less meltdowns.
@ScratchCardWinner123Ай бұрын
I think this team certainly has the best of Wales- both of them have been pretty unpredictable over the last few years but I think it’s Wallabies’ to lose. Kind of depends on whether Scotland can control themselves at Murrayfield but I still think it’s winnable Ireland is still the biggest test but cracks were visible against NZ and with a few runs of momentum I don’t think it’s impossible to topple them Best of luck from a Scot!

Brilliant last segment. As an Irish supporter, the Wobblies have always been my 2nd favourite team after I saw them in LR on that 1984 GS tour. They were a breath of fresh air and so innovative and daring. I saw them again in the 91 RWC SF against the All Blacks and that outrageous Camo over-the-shoulder pass to Timmy Horan to score. It was a pleasure to see them up close; their interaction with fans was different, dare I say, professional. All neutral fans are surely delighted to see them coming back like this. It would be a travesty if they dropped further and became an irrelevance.

Squidgy I was part of a coaching group for NSW U 15 rugby and we have sent a lot of lads to the professional ranks, including Tom Hooper (needed a lot of work on his catch pass). But a few years earlier Mr. Kellaway a.k.a. The Ginger Ninja, was the best player we saw. He was amazing even at schoolboy level. The coaching group and I have wondered if he was an option at 10 or play in the blind side first receiver role a la Beale, Walker and Glen Ella. A feature of the Aussie game. We were thrilled to win but I think just happy to finally play well. England were terrific. Is the first 20 minutes taking too much out of them? Love your work, how good is rugby?

During the Rugby Championship, it was obviously Australia's turn to be whipping boys. And with only one one point win over Argentina, whipping boys they were. Speaking only for myself, I just had the impression that they could string together a nice passage of play, only to come unstuck later. At times, they really fronted up against the Boks, in that big loss to Argentina they were very good in that first twenty minutes and against NZ in that first game, they surged late and the upset was on. So although had had a poor haul for the tournament, I had this idea that if they could only splice certain parts of certain games together, they could be a really, really difficult team to play. I think this last Saturday was as close to watching such a game as is possible. They had their lapses, sure, but when they were able to come back hard everytime. Well done Aussies, and welcome back.

The Wallabies winning all tests year is very unlikely as even the wallaby coaching staffs focus is on mid 2025, Schmitt is building for the lions tour next year, the Wallabies cannot afford to be uncompedative. RA have emphasized how important it is... Shilmitt and co said earlier this year the rugby championship and EOY tests, will not he all about getting the result, it was good to get that honesty from them and good to hear the Wallabies are actually planning when building something... Don't be surprised if we see Schmitt use different players try different structures and options specially at tours backend. If Wallabies get up in all I'd be surprised but not very happy tbh, last thing the team needs is false confidence
