Hey from another NX250 owner! I developed a heavy duty skidplate and a cargo rack if you plan to take it offroad much. These are a great little bike and I think you'll have fun!

Plastifix for the body work. ADV Rider NX250 thread is your new best friend. Correct color paint from colorite. We went over the top with our NX250. Suspension, aux fuel, laced up 17 and 21 rims, oversized rotor, luggage, crash bars. aux. lighting, modded the stock exhaust and air box with larger main jet. It can do and has done everything a bigger bike can due, but on the worst roads you can possibly locate.

It's not a pretty fix but I just repaired the plastic fairing on my 2007 Honda Nighthawk with some thick strips of plastic, JB Weld and rivets. Stronger than it was before and you can just barely make out the 4 rivets from far away. I cut two strips of thick plastic to act as braces( sort of like stitches or a bandaid across the gap) on the inside where they are not visible and drilled through the original body panels and the plastic strips, sanded and epoxied the edges of the fairing and then riveted the whole thing together. Stronger than it was before and since there's not a lot of meat for the epoxy the rivets and the braces do most of the structural work. You could always forgo the rivets and just use a shit ton of JB Weld as glue for the braces and then you wouldn't even have to look at the rivets.

Fantastic! JB weld is a god send lol. Good luck with your Nighthawk. Thanks for watching.

These are going for around 4000$ at auction in Cherry condition on places like cycle trader. They were only made for 2 years between 88-90 and are pretty desirable. There's not a bunch of em out there. He could've held up for a few more weeks and probably got his 3k honestly no offense. Last one I saw sold for 4850$. I'm buying a white 89 off a buddy for a pretty darn good deal. Happy trails 🤘

Yeah I got a great deal. The seller was just glad to see it go to a good home.

@@thatfunkymonkey yeah the one I'm trying to get has been in a shed for 3-4 years. It's in great condition though. Has just a few cosmetic issues but I think it will be a worthy steed. I'm planning to do some on-off road stuff with it. Im located in Northern Nevada area east of Reno so it's pretty much endless exploring. One question, have you had to replace the electric starter at all ? I've heard mixed things about them being reliable.
@thatfunkymonkey6 ай бұрын
@@jtheprospector.1458 no issues with the starter so far. Good luck man. You're gonna love that bike. I wish I had as many places to ride as you do. New Jersey is rough when it comes off roading..

Congrats on the bike, I'm looking to buy my very first bike and set on a dual sport. How are the ergos on the bike? Can you provide your height, weight and inseam? I'm wondering if i'm too fat for the bike (6'0 250lbs only 32" inseam).
@thatfunkymonkey Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I am 5'9 and hover around 200 pounds. My inseam is only 30" so I have a tough time finding dirt bikes that I'm comfortable with. For me it was a toss up between the NX250 or a TW200. I went with the NX based on price(I got a good deal) ergos are good. It's got an approachable seat height( I can flat foot it) only issue is the rear shock. The NX 250 is notorious for having a very soft rear shock. Like I said I'm about 200 pounds and Of I take this off road I will definitely bottom out the rear end. Honestly man the best thing you can do is go sit on as many bikes as you can and see what feels right for you. Thanks for watching and Great name btw.

Google bike name + service manual - first result is a russian site with the pdf for me :) It's a really nice bike, I'm considering getting one. There's very few dualsports so light and with such large service intervals. The power on the MD21 engine is about the same as a modern crf300l. Also there's a German forum with an english section (forum nx250 de). Some useful information about repairs and what to do when you can't find some parts for it.

Wow there is so much to unpack here. I'm sure "all your women" are real pleased with a man who does whatever he wants without any regard to "his women's" opinions. That's not how a marriage works my guy. But hey you do you buddy, you show all those women who's boss. You sound like a real manly dude. Do you keep them all barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen as well? I bet you remind them who's in charge and smack them around a little too. Such a stud! I wish I was half the man you are.

Craigslist. People still use that? I thought it was only for rapists, killers, and foreign scammers.
@thatfunkymonkey Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty safe. They disposed of the questionable hook ups section a while back so no more rapists. The foreign scammers only deal in emails and won't meet in person, so that weeds them out. It's the pesky murderers that you still gotta look out for.
