The money goes down, because when you do the extra buy glitch, the money goes negative. It's climbing back up to 0, before going up as normal. When he gets that tack, you notice that the shooting speed is way higher than it should be, because he's buying the faster shooting upgrade multiple times.

I used to do the glitch all the time. You used to have to press tab on the page and it would select something in the page. Then you just had to keep pressing tab and it would go thru the selections until you had the tack upgrade selected. Then you simplily held enter😉

The glitch with the tack tower is actually pretty interesting. It was a glitch in btd 1 and 2 where if you place a tower down, you could use the tab key to select and upgrade and upgrade it permanently, though your money would go into the negatives. The glitch involves the tack tower since it's the only tower in which you can increase attack speed. So you use tab key, select increase fire rate upgrade, and smash your space key 15 times. You'll lose like 10000 monkey dollars but it will make an impenetrable defense, constantly firing defense. Hope you see this so I could clear something's up for you.

Idk if you will see this comment but the glitch in the glitched run is to press ENTER if I remember since it will buy an upgrade, however you can hold the button and it will continue to buy that same upgrade (putting you into negative money) which in many cases (such as the tack towers shooting speed) does stack

There is no reason to use Bomb or Ice in this iteration of BTD. They are expensive, attack slowly, and don't affect Black or White bloons respectively. I only use Dart monkeys until I can get a Super Monkey.

A hint that might help your time, you can set the target priority of each monkey, and it's good to set at least 3 of them on priority "last" so they can pop the back balloons keeping the faster ones down, and letting the ones on priority "first" will clean up. Saves you on money to spend on towers

Tack Towers should only be used where they can hit "Bloons" on at least 3 sides. Your placement of the Tack Towers is inefficient and does not maximize their capabilities.

Here's the story with the Tack Shooter glitch, because I actually pulled it off as a kid. If you use the tab key (at least on the old version, dk about flashpoint) you can cycle between the on-screen buttons and press them by using a key on the keyboard. I think this was just some obscure feature of a library NK imported to help them implement the first game's UI that the devs weren't even cognizant of - It turns out the game was not really programmed to handle this case correctly. By holding down the key, this method lets you get the same upgrade over and over again - in this case, the Faster Shooting upgrade - bypassing not only the normal limit of getting each upgrade only once for each tower, but also bypassing the check to make sure you can actually afford the upgrade. So the end result is a tack shooter that attacks every single frame, and a money counter well into the negatives (which the game incorrectly displays as a positive number, explaining why it looked like the money was going down).
