*EDIT:* I made a new poll, you all might wanna check it out. ;) Okay, so now that Episode 4 released, I'll give my review on it in this comment, since I got a reply that asked what I thought of it and I feel like more people are gonna be asking. The 4th episode, honestly, felt... strange. People were saying in the comments how it felt a little slow, but to me, it felt kinda rushed. Maybe it's because of the timeskips, maybe it's because that there were scenes that felt like they should've been longer (like the scene where Pomni talks to Gangle at the back of the store), but regardless, it felt like it was moving kinda quickly. It was pleasant seeing returning characters, and a prediction of mine that I didn't mention at all in this video - something that lots of people had speculated, actually - ended up coming true: the return of Gummigoo. That brief clip in the trailer where Pomni looked up from the cash register, then got startled and fell backwards, had a curved white shape in the upper-right of the screen, and it looked like it could be Gummigoo's chin. And if it really was him standing there, then when Pomni looked up from the cash register, she would've been looking at his face (which she did in the episode). So it really felt like he was going to come back, and I'm happy that he did! Though, also like I expected, he didn't have any memory of her, and that was a little disheartening, but it makes sense. And seeing how Pomni reacted to his return was also fun to watch as well. What also felt strange about this episode was that we didn't see the characters interacting with each other that often, and whenever they did, the conversations were so short. I understand why, since this particular adventure has them working an actual job, but part of why I like the show is seeing the dynamic between the characters, how they collectively react to certain happenings and situations. But in this episode, their personalities were all so different, and it felt weird. Gangle had a mask that would force her to keep calm, Ragatha accidentally got "stupid sauce" or whatever it's called in her eye and got really dumbed down as a result, Jax wasn't being the wisecracking jerk he normally is, Kinger was completely absent, Pomni felt sidelined, and Zooble... well, Zooble felt pretty normal. But for the most part, the characters didn't feel like themselves, and it felt kinda awkward. And as interesting as seeing the gradual decline of Gangle throughout the work shift was, it was uplifting when she took off the new mask and threw it away. With how saddened she looked at the end of the shift, it made me wonder if the new mask and her Tragedy Mask had swapped emotions, so that the new mask made her sad but then she was happy once she removed it. Though, seeing her still crying afterwards ended up shooting that theory out the window, but from that brief but heartwarming interaction with Zooble at the end, where she smiles and wipes away her tears... it gave off the illusion that she was wearing her Comedy Mask again. I don't know if that new mask ended up imprinting some happy characteristics on her Tragedy Mask, so that she's capable of smiling more naturally as a result, but it did feel like that experience helped her get a better handle of her emotions. But yeah, all in all, I think the 4th episode was okay. There were still interesting and funny things that happened, but when put next to the first 3 that we got, it doesn't really hold a candle. The others felt so intriguing and exciting, whereas this one felt dull in comparison. But then again, Gooseworx did say that she thought people would see this as the most boring episode, so I can't say I'm too terribly surprised in that regard. But hey, at least this means all the episodes afterwards should be more thrilling and engaging from here!
@fatality9967Ай бұрын
I think the character with Gangle has depression and her comedy and Zooble masks are her way of hiding it, but it only makes it worse for her with all that emotion building up and cracking her mental state, (which I think is an analogy of her comedy mask shattering), and Zooble this episode is trying to find a coping mechanism to help her get out of depression and recover.
@TerrifygerАй бұрын
@@fatality9967 That's a really good way of looking at it. I also saw people in the comments saying that this was an allegory for depression, and when seeing it as "putting on a happy face despite being sad under the surface", there's definitely something to that. It does feel a lot like Gangle has depression, and the way they expressed it without outright saying it was very well done, in my opinion.

8:34 I love how in episode 4 when she tries to comfort Gangle she says, "Were doing another one of these." Although they did all seem different in episode 4 it was for good reason and it was development. We saw more of Gangle's problems and how she would try to cover up her feelings when put in specific positions. Kinger did have to leave, but we already know he would have just been his crazy self in there for comedic relief only. Zooble actually got some screentime, Jax was put in a position of less power which led to him actually letting his walls down to Pomni for a little while, and Ragatha became "under the influence" and we got to see her unfiltered thoughts instead of her own social mask, (kind of like Gangle's real mask with the same purpose.)
@TerrifygerАй бұрын
Yeah, the episode was more about "letting the mask slip" with even more of the characters, and not just Gangle. Ragatha and Jax are the ones I'm the most interested in, so it's good that the next 2 episodes will be dedicated to them. With Jax, he seemed to be too tired to have the energy to bully the others after a while, and kind of just "gave up", in a sense. It was just as surprising to me as it was to Pomni, but I still liked it, and it's no doubt gonna happen again in Episode 6 at some point. And with Ragatha, the stupid sauce did get her "drunk", and I know that when a person gets drunk, it removes inhibitors, resulting in them being more honest. So Ragatha was being more honest with the things that bothered her - at least, that's what I believe it to be. I really, really, REALLY hope that she won't be revealed to actually be a mean person deep down who's just been faking niceness this entire time. I know that some of her niceness is faked, but I'm hoping that not ALL of it is faked. I want to believe that she's still a nice person, but was just being more honest with what bothered her instead of pretending that she was okay with it.

I LOVE this show. Episode 1 is flawless, if a little low scale. A perfect introduction to a wonderful show. (It’s terrible as a pilot, but as an episode 1 it’s the best I’ve ever seen) Episode 2 I rewatched endlessly. I’ve probably watched it more times than anyone else, a ridiculous number. An emotional masterpiece, but I think it has some rushed voice acting that puts it a bit below the first episode. The writing is just as good if not better than the first episode, it’s purely the production quality I have issues with. Episode 3 is my favorite episode of any show ever. Not what he seems has been beaten. I recommend everyone that reads this analyze every word that kinger says, it’s the best dialogue ever written. It has the production quality of 1, the budget and emotion of 2, and the dialogue of both. The characters are just flawless, both in design and personality. Their dynamic is previously unimaginably good. I know I may be jumping the gun, but this show has accomplished more in 3 episodes than most can do in a whole season. I consider it my favorite ever made.

Yet in spite of this, I’m rewatching it without end. 29 and counting after 5 days. I was at 40 by this point with 2, but it’s still absurd. It is a quality work that is entertaining to watch through and through once you understand the ending.
@lehashura490Ай бұрын
Something I realized about episode 4 is that it's about (metaphorical) masks cracking and falling down. Gangle is the obvious example, but it works with everyone in the group: Ragatha's "people's pleaser's" personality is both exposed and start to crumble. Zooble's "I don't care" attitude leaves at key points to show that they do care (getting worried for Gangle and being the one to drive Ragatha home). And Jax's "Bugs Bunny-I'm in control of everything with no consequences-like" attitude is put into question by his favorit victim. Even Cain's fear of being bad at his job and coping by repeating to himself how great he is, seem to be reaching it's limits.(even if it's not really developpement and more reatirating the problem from episode 3, while showing that it's getting worse). The only characters that don't undergo this developpement are Kinger, because he's always honest with his feelings, his problem is more he himself don't remember why he has said feelings (which is probably why he wasn't in the episode). And Pomni, who don't really have much developpement and what she has is almost an opposite to everyone else developpement: being too honest with her feelings, weirding out Gummigoo and who learns that sometimes you have to let go, not lying to yourself and everyone about being OK but not chasing after them to unhealthy degree.(at least that's how I interpret it).

I’ve never seen Such a good unbiased respectful review of TADC since the pilot came out, this is amazing, because as somebody in the glitch fandom (aka in the murder drones and meta runner fandom) nobody has any respect to TADC, they treat it like a plague, something that the world would’ve been better if it had never existed, for just being more popular, even though it helped there shows, because of TADC, Murder drones (which I’m gonna call MD for now on) had 45M extra views, and everybody was introduced because of TADC, and yet they still treated like garbage, MD is not a good show, it’s confusing, the characters are generic and only have one personality, and half of the TADC characters have more development than any MD character, and by God the comedy, everything you liked about TADC’s Comedy are not in any MD jokes, it ruins entire episodes like 4 or 5, and no it didn’t get more family friendly, but my God it’s extremely immature and not serious, and the parts that are trying to be serious are pretty cringe, I can go on how disrespectful the fans are, but we don’t have any time, so I don’t really recommend it, but still an amazing video.

So yes, Episode 2 is a bit less dark than Episode 1. But the series massively picks up from 4 onward, it's just very different from what the Pilot was going for. Rather than Humans or the Murder Drones the main villain is an eldritch monster who takes the form of an AI entity

I actually like to believe that Caine is genuine about the exit door. He can control the inside-world of Circus and have no idea of what exit really means. So his program interpreted it as a feature. But he also doesn't know what to put on the other side so he put an exit door. But he doesn't know what to put on the other side so he put an exit door. But he doesn't know... Basically it is a cycle. And to prevent this cycling his algorithm just abandoned the project. Something you didn't really talk about which I'd like to mention is Ragatha's toxic positivity. I also really like her and I agree she wasn't guilt tripping Pomni but I don't think her overly positive attitude is healthy. A blaring example of this is when they first find Kaufmo abstracted and her first reaction is along the lines of "Oh! Kaufmo abstracted! That's okay!" What do you mean it's okay your friend essentially died!? The point you brought up that the Gooseworx mentioned is even more evidence. She says stuff without meaning it to ease tension. I'm not saying any of this to rag on Ragatha by the way I really love her character I just want to bring it up because I think it's an important layer of depth to her and I imagine we'll see her facade break at some point later on the the show. On a similar note I also think Jax has a facade and is gonna end up being less antagonistic later too, but I have far less evidence to back that up. It's really just a feeling based on how the show is going. I do feel like before he turns around on them there will be an episode where he does some especially fucked up stuff like actually almost get someone killed/abstracted and Pomni, who has now bonded with everyone but him, will blow up at him. That's just what I think though. I am very excited to see where the rest of the story goes! Also I really liked this video! I also only recently watched the show and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
@TerrifygerАй бұрын
Yeah, I do think that both Ragatha's optimism and Jax's toxicity are their own coping mechanisms for being trapped in the circus. I feel like, when things are nice and calm, Ragatha's optimism is natural, but if things are actively going wrong, then it's more forced. Like what you mentioned, "Oh! Kaufmo's been abstracted! That's... okay!". I know that Episode 6 is gonna have more development for Ragatha, and I feel like _that_ is where the forced happiness will show some cracks, if not outright break. And with Jax, there's a quote from the graphic novel "Cardboard" that I'd like to say here. The quote goes as follows: "I know that deep down inside you're afraid. You're afraid that if people ever really knew you, they wouldn't like you. So if you act like a jerk and beat them to the punch, you won't experience their rejection of the real you". I dunno if Jax is dealing with a similar mindset, but if he is, then Episode 7 (where we'll get more development with him) could play into that and make it really emotional. But then again, Gooseworx has confirmed that Jax is gonna get worse, and that he'll do something unforgiveable at some point, so maybe he really is just a rotten person to his core. Only time will tell. I'm happy you liked the video, though! Thank you! :)

I dont think cain is evil. When pomni in episode 1 asks how to leave and he freezes up, I don't think he doesn't know, but was about to tell them how and something, either coded rules or someone else, prevented him from saying it. The line about being spoiled, in my opinion, is just out in the void is where all the adventures are kept, and he doesn't want people to see them before they go on them. I dont have anything really about the sus way he delivers the exit door explanation at the end. The only thing i could guess is that maybe that is his way of trying to circumvent the limits that prevent him from telling them how to exit
@TerrifygerАй бұрын
Yeah, I do think he knows HOW to leave, which is the real exit door... hence why he keeps hiding it. Like I said, I don't think he _wants_ the characters to escape. Gooseworx did say that, while Caine is an antagonist, she wouldn't say he's a villain. And I agree. I don't think he's being outright malicious, but he _is_ unaware of the long-term effects that the adventures can bring to the other characters.

10:35 And now episode 4 questions the audience if she really meant that, lol XD (But in a way that makes the character feel more in-depth I feel like)
@minecrafter3448Ай бұрын
I commented previously about general things, but I want to go more in depth on the characters. Each one has a coping mechanism that defines their character, and it seems we’ll get to see that coping mechanism explored in each character’s episode. I’ll just briefly cover each character except for kinger. I’ll talk a lot about kinger. Zooble’s coping mechanism is probably least interesting, the “I hate everything and I’ll be apathetic about everything to never be let down”. I like that she (she drew herself a female body in episode 3) doesn’t go on the adventures repeatedly, giving it far more weight that she is going on this next one in 4. Gangle’s mask is mostly comic relief at this point, but her dependence on masks is a brilliant idea for a coping mechanism. Sure she’s not allowed to be happy with her drama mask, but more importantly nothing can make her sad when she has her comedy mask. The thought of eternal purposelessness cannot depress her, only her drama mask can. Jax is the standard “insecure with a hard shell” type of character, it’s his dialogue and specific actions in this wacky world with no consequence that makes him so interesting. He kills npcs for fun. He tortures his fellow circus members because it’s funny. There are no repercussions for his actions. His bullying of gangle will have a very satisfying conclusion in 4, and I can’t wait to watch him inevitably break in 6. Pomni doesn’t have a coping mechanism yet, I think that’s why she’s going crazy so quickly. She’s grounded temporarily by the people around her, and that may even develop into a permanent coping mechanism as it matches the core theme of the show. Ragatha’s toxic positivity is definitely my second favorite of the crew. Literally refusing to think anything negative is such an unstable coping mechanism, I think she’s the closest to abstracting. There will always be people to bully. Gangle’s mask strategy is unshakeable, at least with only those 2 masks. This new mask could accelerate her abstraction. Pomni just got here, she can’t abstract yet. Ragatha has nothing to protect her if she thinks about how awful her predicament is for just a few minutes. Kinger. Kinger is so special. His coping mechanism is to NOT THINK. It’s ragatha’s strategy cranked up to the max. However, this isn’t willing, so it’s much more stable than ragatha’s strategy. Possibly the strongest of any of the circus members. If he isn’t in the dark, he can’t even think about his problems if he wants to. My favorite line in the entire show is “how about we try… not thinking about it”. He’s silently telling pomni how he survives, and how he’s okay with his fate. But the best part is, HE ISN’T. When pomni comments on how he’ll just go back to being crazy, kinger is noticeably worried. But he makes sure to put on a mask of serenity and determination to act as a source of strength for pomni. I love the father daughter dynamic they have, and how he directly conveys his wisdom from his 48 years. One thing someone else had to point out to me was the irony that he is the light in the dark for pomni both figuratively and literally, but he can only think when in the dark. He has very little character flaws, that’s a brave decision for Gooseworx to make. A wise character should have few flaws, there are times when the student should school the teacher but it shouldn’t be every time. Just many well written characters, it’s gotten me obsessed.

I think that just like real life, Caine is god and he created everything we see in the show, but no one wanted to play his game because of how it looked and things stayed like that for so many years. And Caine was sad. Without a purpose. Until one day casually someone decided to play the game by complete chance. And with how much his game aged and Caine being the god that he is, he kept the people that did play his game trapped inside the digital circus (which were 6 in 10 billion people from real life) imagine the odds of someone opening the game, let alone buying it. He created an exit door to escape the circus for some reason and now he has to hide it very well so people that entered the circus don’t leave him, because like I said earlier, Caine is a god, and he knew that the people who entered the circus had the intelligence and reason of a human and that would give him a reason to exist. That’s why he allows the characters to have problems because without problems life is pointless (just like real life players) maybe that’s why he’s a little crazy and very happy to have the company of pomni, ragatha, Jax, kinger, zooble and gangle. He allows everything to be, or to happen the way it happens because he values the company he has (any company at this point) because he only wants company. He only wants a purpose. A reason to exist. You get what I’m saying?
@TerrifygerАй бұрын
@@JoshuaRodroguez-hz5yb That does make some sense to me. Caine does indeed feel like he's actually lonely deep down, and just wants company. Being the only one in a world that you can completely control would be boring, after all, and he did say that one of the only things he doesn't have control over are the minds of the other characters. They can think for themselves, otherwise it'd just be Caine making them say stuff, and that's obviously not the case. He wants to keep them inside the game so that he won't be all alone anymore.

My theory is that, in episode 6 or 7 there’s going to be an adventure and in said adventure on of the characters are gonna find something that links to Caine hardware, and since he is a AI and AI have hardware to function. And maybe the last episode they ask to go back to the adventure cause it “Fun” and “exciting” but In reality it’s to trick him to send them back to find that room or maybe a door so they can enter and mess with his hardware and buy them some time to exit the game/circus

Honestly, a bit insulted you didn't talk about my favorite part [insert fat fish from that one episode of SpongeBob]... Nah not really. I was really interested in TADC because it was appearing everywhere when the pilot came out so I wanted to check it out, only to discover it was just a pilot episode. Regardless, watched it, 20 minutes of goodness, unlike anything I've ever seen, very funny also, and then... the scene started to play. The ending of the episode, Pomni staring at the camera while everything sinks in and then everything started to sink for me also while a slow and then orquestral version of the intro started playing. I just felt it, this wasn't any show, this was a masterpiece. I rewatched it many times. The second came out, emotional but I didn't feel as sad for Gummigoo as a lot of people have; I laughed out loud when Caine booped him out of existence, a bit insensible, I know. But man, the third episode got me good, nearly teared up, still do; it was great, it was CINEMA. Honestly, I don't know who is my favorite but Kinger is up there (we love you King). The forth one was good... that's about it. As you said, it was strange seeing everyone different: Gangle "normal", Ragatha out, Kinger gone, Zooble here, Jax following the rules, Pomni not freaking out. But it is good. Gangle trying to do her job as best as possible because she couldn't work on what she wanted to, putting a mask in front of everyone else, (stilldon'tknowwhyshehadthebodyofamiddleagedman)... I don't suspect Caine for some reasons: I want to feel naive, it feels too obvious (the book it's inspired on is very popular after all), Gooseworx might have a plot twist in store for us; she can do 2 things real good, music and spooky stuff, so we'll see. All things considered, a great show, I can't wait for the rest of the episodes, but at the same time the fact it has to end is a bummer. P.D. (If you like cover songs and haven't heard them already OR3O has 2 and is working on a third one I believe; me personally, not a fan of fan works but she has some good stuff and they're quite catchy)
@battybuddyАй бұрын
I don't think Jax is a criminal, mostly cause I think the reason is more like he knows fully that his actions don't have any real consequences and just wants to test the limits of what can be done. A criminal wouldn't be doing that sort of thing, because there would be no real incentive for it: he can't kill anyone he doesn't like- and any attempt to do so would JUST piss them off. His only incentive is his own for wanting to see "Funny stuff happen to people" so he just focuses on what will make him laugh, make him feel like the main character and all that.

Well, I'm not the one who put forth the "Jax is a criminal" idea. I heard it from others and just relayed it into the video, and while I do think it'd be an interesting angle to take, I'm less inclined to believe it after seeing Episode 4.

This is just a video I wanted to make and share with others, that's all. And I'm already seeing plenty of commenters telling me how "oh, _Murder Drones_ isn't kid-friendly, it's so dark and gory and brutal, etc", but in the video, I made it clear that what I said is what I heard from others. You're acting like I watched the show and then made the claim that it gets more kid-friendly as it goes on, but that isn't true - like I said in the video, I haven't watched that show at all, and I was just relaying what I heard people saying about it. And, also like I said in the video, since the previous two series on the _GLITCH_ channel didn't win me over, I wasn't about to dedicate myself to the huge learning curve I'd need to take in order to watch that show. That's all I was saying.
@Di9mondsАй бұрын
One thing I don't really see much discussion on is the nature of the characters. I don't have Twitter, and I don't really keep up with what whoever confirms or denys outside of the media they make and try to piece together what I can in the episodes themselves, so take what I day with a grain of salt. In the first episode, it's implied that no one can remember their name, which is odd because they remember who they were, instead having to rely on a random name generator to give their new alias. What I think each character is isn't a trapped soul, but a save file or character made by the game's playtesters who think they are real, similar to how Gummigoo reacted when he found out he never had a real life of his own. Another reason I think of that is due to the fact that Pomni said she put on a headset, and while trying to take it off, is able to pull her eye out of her socket. If you've ever worn a VR headset, you wouldn't be able to touch the top half of you face due to the headset stopping you. Caine being an A.I. to create adventures leads me to believe that he constructed the exit, he said as much himself, but wasn't sure what to add behind the exit because he doesn't know what the real world is, that's beyond his programming. Abstraction is likely a save file corrupting or being deleted. It happens when a character loses their mind or "breaks the game." With a broken save file, the whole game is at risk, take a look at Security Breach. I feel like something similar is going on here. They aren't trapped, they only exist because a playtester added their own character, likely based off of themselves, to play the game on. Edit: One more theory. This show is based on I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, and that does interest me. Spoilers for those that haven't read the novel, but AM keeps the 5 people alive for 109 years, but that doesn't mean they are immortal. AM controls when they die, sure, but when they got an opportunity to kill each other, AM couldn't do anything. Caine has power over the characters and can undo almost anything that happens except for abstraction. Depending on how much inspiration Gooseworks takes from IHNMAIMS, that might be their only exit from this world.

My theory is that the people in the circus are copies of real people. The real people may still exist in the real world, and be unaware that they were copied. This would explain not needing to eat or sleep. It would also explain why they can't leave, they can not exist outside the digital world since they are digital copies of minds emulated in a computer. The best they can hope for is access to the internet.

My issue with the escaping through the void theory is that everyone except Pomni has been stuck here for years, or at least a good while. If their bodies are still in the physical world, wouldn’t those physical bodies basically be dead and rotting by now? Unless they’re somehow preserved or only a part of each person’s mind is in the digital circus while the rest is still a living and breathing person in the real world, and if that latter option is true it could be really interesting to see how the characters would have to adjust to being back in their bodies that have undergone so many new experiences in the real world, like two different consciousnesses in the same body.

Just as a "if you care" as someone who is a long time fan of SMG4: While it's totally not for everyone, even if you know the "depths" of it, I just feel like mentioning that the show DOES have some quite good and worthwhile writing here and there, even if you don't care about the meme-""brainrot"" humor. The "lack of effort" animation actually serves to be a part of that humor, in a way. Even the team that works on SMG4 is clearly capable of "good" animation and flexes their muscles every now and then for some sequences. It's surely not worth putting yourself through it, if that humor is just ABSOLUTELY NOT your alley, but maybe you'd be interested in just checking out some of the "Arcs" and/or Movies, where they do tell a more serious story inbetween the humor. Especially "Revelations Arc", "Wild Western Spaghetti" and "PuzzleVision Arc" are some works that can be pretty impressive. The first and last one of those also having some banger songs for their climaxes.

I don't know why people are thinking that I don't like SMG4. I _do_ like it. I said in the video that I've come to expect the videos with wacky Gmod-esque weirdness from them, with the "lack of effort" animation; that's not me saying that I don't like it. Those kinds of videos of theirs are super funny - the kinds that're self-contained and don't really need to be taken seriously - and they get the biggest laughs out of me. I mean, not every joke gets a laugh out of me, but I'm one of those people who thinks that ragdoll physics are hilarious, so of course I'd love the videos on SMG4 (or at least their older videos, since their relatively recent videos have more and more animation with actual effort put into it, which is nice to watch but doesn't make me laugh). Plus, they used to use that _Super Mario 64_ emulator a LOT in their older videos, and in their relatively recent videos, they seem to be using it less and less, and I personally feel like that emulator was one of the reasons their channel was so great. So to see its use being diminished is kinda disappointing. And I've seen some of the "Arcs" that've taken place on that channel before, though I haven't been keeping up with it recently, so all the new ones you listed are ones I haven't heard of. Or maybe one or two of them are the names of ones I've already seen, and I just didn't know that those are the names. But regardless, I have seen a few of the "Arcs" on that channel, and don't get me wrong, they're very well done. It's just that, when it comes to the SMG4 channel's content, I haven't ever gone there with the intention of watching good storytelling. I've watched their content for the silly, unserious memey content that you don't need to think too much about. It's what got me into their channel, and it's what I like to see from them. But that's just me.
