Sticker removal tip (for that front sticker on nba jam): take the manual and cover slip out. Apply goo gone with a rag to that area. Let sit for a couple hours. Should peel right off w ease. If doesn’t on first attempt, re-apply, wait, and it should. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I bought some stuff online with them recently too further Buy 2 Get 1 sale. Didn’t order retro, but it’s always a crap shoot with them. Ordered Tekken 8, Mario Golf (Switch), and Mario Soccer (switch). Went 3 for 3 and getting them complete which was nice.

When buying used from GameStop I ONLY ever shop in-store. If I can't see that it's a complete copy in good condition with all of the cover art...I don't buy. I don't even bother to look at their store online because I refuse to pay for a product sight unseen and get misused crap. And I don't know why stores still insist on putting stickers on the covers of boxes. It's a universally hated practice by the community at large. Either put the stickers on the INSIDE of the box where they're both hidden and easier to remove or (like we used to do when I worked at GameStop two decades ago, shrink wrap them first and put the sticker on top of that. Yes, it's more time consuming, but it makes for a far more visually appealing product.

I must know - Does GameStop mail only the disc and/or cartridge and keep the original packaging for store use? I just received my order for all Pikimin games on the Switch, Batman Arkham Collection for the Switch, Red Dead Redemption for the Switch, and the newest Final Fantasy VII installment on PS5; all, and I mean all, came in GameStop cases. one of my recent biggest game collecting wins I got was a near pristine copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the dreamcast, I say near because unfortunately one of the hinges on the case was broken, but that’s easy enough to replace, considering that the rest of the game is perfect and was cheap as hell also considering the type of game it is I couldn’t sleep on it

the thing about buying retro games at GameStop is if you're just looking to own the games and don't care if they come loose or what condition the box and/or manual is in, then GameStop is fine. there are plenty of better options with much better pricing, but GameStop is still viable. the problem is when you're actually trying to COLLECT and you DO care about how your games look because you want to DISPLAY them. THEN GameStop is a BIG no-go and i do NOT recommend ANY serious collectors EVER buy retro shit from GameStop. as for stickers on the box, personally i don't care about that. i like to keep the stickers on the box, tbh. to me, having those old stickers there tells a story and i think that's super special and i don't wanna fuck with that.

Man, Punch Out for Wii is my 5th favorite game ever! I remember my mom and sister got me a blue Nintendo Wii many years ago and I bought Punch Out since I enjoyed the NES and SNES versions. One of my favorite purchases of a game! If you're gonna play it, use both the Nunchuk and Wii Remote. It'll give your arms a decent workout unlike actual boxing. This is why I check any disc when I purchase a disc related game.

I remember learning exactly how Gamestop worked when i was 13 years old. I'm 27 now. What did anyone else expect? Gamestop is only good for buying used copies of current gen games. You absolutely can not expect anything else. For me, the appeal to Gamestop is buying used games when you don't want the devs or publishers getting any of your money. Stellat Blade is a perfect example. I was excited for it, but Sony decided to censor it. So I'll buy a usex copy 12 months later cause my money doesn't go to soy boys

Yeah, the recent sale they had, I was going through their website and adding so many things to cart. I was so excited because it was a great deal, 4 for 20$ or something, then I hovered my mouse over the purchase button and paused... realizing that they probably couldn't sell those games for a reason. I collect these games not just to play, but to display, and the few I have from my childhood that are in slip covers or CD cases are definitely tucked behind everything else.

Love these videos man! And with those pesky stickers on the cases... Try getting yourself some Goo Gone Adhesive remover. Take a nice clean cloth, spray a tiny smidge of that on your cloth and rub it in circles on and around where those damned pricing stickers are sitting on the case. They will come off with some diligence. Grab another cloth, maybe with some dampness too it and clean the area after. Dry the area finally. And you're golden buddy!

An easy way i found to deal with games that suffer from moisture damage was just to put the insert in a book and put some weight on top of the book and leave it like that for a couple days. Hasn't failed me yet.

Love the video, Gamestop is just terrible, and I don't know how they get away with the stuff they sell. The wave in the insert is due to not being I the correct case. I used to cut the dvd and game inserts on a huge guillotine machine, and all inserts are cut to one size to fit into the case. If you want to make it fit, you can trim the front and back of the inserts to fit non generic cases. Keep the great videos. I love the gamestop pot luck videos. As someone who works at a used game store and personally despises disc rot incurred from resurfacing machines; how do you avoid it/fix it? It seems entirely random and indiscriminate as to what games it happens to but I’ve had more than a couple instances where the buff solution gets shot into the center of the disc.

Well for me atleast you can sometimes still get deals from them. During the buy 2 get one free deal last week I scored Castlevania legends, ogre battle SNES, sunset riders, final fantasy 3 and goemon N64 and all of them came legit just some had obvious wear to the label. I guess it's just a fun surprise if what you get is legit or not 😂
