Fallout is a series near and dear to my heart. It doesn't take much for me to love a game that has the Fallout label, but no matter the chances I've given 76... it never ends well for me. Today, I open my heart up once more and give it yet another try.

PvP was taken out of the game. Its strictly co op now, unless you OPT IN to PvP. Wastelanders added dynamic events, dynamic NPCs, and a 50 hour story based around those NPCs. Dialogue skill checks, branching narrative, and side quests. All with Dialogue choices and NPCs. This game is now Fallout 4 Online with a better, bigger world.

There's definitely enjoyment to be had in this game, but I honestly LOATHED the final act. That entire chapter is nonstop over the top grind missions, to the point that I put it down and never finished upon discovering that the nuke codes reset each week so if you're like me (mostly play solo and on the weekends) you literally have a day or two to hunt down all the code pieces AND complete the actual silo launch mission. And I haven't even mentioned the grind you have to go through to unlock that penultimate quest, EGADS!!!

@hermos3602
@hermos3602 2 жыл бұрын
You literally described every Fallout game. I don't think the problem is that there's lack of content for high level players because you can say the same about games like Fallout 4 and New Vegas. I think the reason people prefer the other games is because they were single player and you were able to mod them (Depending on the game and system it's on). Since Fallout 76 is an online game, it's designed for multiplayer and unfortunately modding the game is very limited. You can mod Fallout 76, but not to the extent of the previous games.

I remember being so excited about 76 before released. My only expectations were that it was just a cheap asset flip of F4, maybe a little bit bigger with some experimental multiplayer stuff. I remember the countdown and initial event to 76... I was actually heartbroken. To this day, the soundtrack is the only thing that stands up. Inon Zur for president. I got back on 76 a few weeks ago, and stumbled across a cool little area with some scorched i wanted to try to take out. I was sneaking around, suddenly my game started freezing up, i hear these booms around me, and this jet black power armor guy was flying around blowing everything up with a grenade launcher almost making my game crash. It froze, I had to restart, and i couldn't find that little cool place i found again. I'm pretty sure my rifle broke too. what a disaster

I'm a guy that loves to just play, single player games. Because you can take your time, do shootouts at your own pace. Multiplayer, you have to work with other players completely. There is no single player campaigns. Second, I hate having to have a subscription to play. That sucks. So when you're an on,off player, you may play 3 or 4 hours, then nothing for a week or so. So it may take 2 months to get thru a game. There's 20 bucks just for one game that you get nothing for. Seems many games are going only on line play. So u spend 50 bucks on a games and money just to play. That sucks too. Then you always have the learning curve. You end up playing with others that are way more agile, quick and learned than u are. That's another issue. Other players may be race arounds. Im more slow and stealthy. Im still playing 4, after buying it a while ago. At least a couple of years. I can't believe how short some games are. I bought Hitman 3 and played about 3 hours then stopped, played a few more hours a couple days later. Suddenly after about 3 days like that, all the mains are done. Any suggestions from anyone to a good single player campaign games based on post apocalyptic nature? For Xbox one. Thanks, ill see how 76 feels, but being a multi player, I probably won't be happy with it. Thanks all.

Its a bad RPG game because of the limited story mode and a bad pvp game because its completely unbalanced. But you do have a variety of builds, weapons and armour to progress in the game, a vast map to explore and a much improved camp building system that allows you to explore your inner architect and interior designer. What I think 76 needed to be successful is the ability to play it solo, no online connection. Either way, they also should keep the perks locked. The online feature would have been successful if they did that because it would really promote groups and online play. And instead of the mega bosses, they should be functioned as massive raids with lots of enemies. Something that's doable solo, but definitely worth teaming up. Even with the entire server, you can't always beat the megabosses, which means its not something you can do solo.

I wanted to wait until they realized they needed to put more npcs and content in. Flash forward to a week ago after hearing so many different updates that have happened and patiently waiting for the right moment, I got it again. And I was very pleasantly surprised. Being able to see npcs almost instantly where I had some dialogue choice was so satisfying. I’m glad I waited all these years for it to improve, because that wait feels rewarded.

The "all enemies level with you" update was the most half baked thing they added to the game. Apart from being out of place (the game clearly wasn't built with it in mind), they didn't even bother to accommodate for it within the existing game systems. So now, if you are an high level character, there's an absurd number of extremely bullet-spongy enemies in the game that only drop something like two bullets and some other crap. This change alone made me rage quit the game and never return to it.

The reason I couldn't get into the original "chasing ghosts" main storyline was because it was ruined beforehand BY the very showcases that announced the game. It became SUPER apparent very quickly that whatever lead or next audio log you found that hinted at life and other people surviving was always false, it was always too late, they are all dead and gone and whatever you can find will always be scorched, robots or audio logs - the very sense of the story, narrative and pacing for discovery and exploration was ruined by the very first marketing with the players being the only humans. You knew the outcome, you knew you were just chasing the next audio log and what the end was so the motivation to keep going to see what happens next was lost on me. Fallout 76 for me now is a game I enjoy with a very specific friend of mine that LOVES fallout aswell and whenever we both feel like playing fallout at the same time, we jump on 76 - because those moments are not focused on story, they are not focused on any pacing - it's just two friends, playing on a private world, having fun exploring buildings for no other reason than to do it together and see new places.

Then I gave it another try after all the dlcs and it’s actually a good game for what it is. Unfortunately once you complete the storyline you’re left with nothing to do but redo the same events over and over. "Unfortunately once you complete the storyline you’re left with nothing to do..." This is a common complaint I see in forums when people compare 76 to the previous games. And they always get tons of upvotes. And I'm just always baffled, because in the previous games, once you complete the story..... it's the same way. And New Vegas doesn't even let you play after beating the main story, you revert to a save just before doing the final mission if you want to play more.

@@Tattletale-DeltaThe world of 76 is huge, 4 times the size of Fallout 4, but as far as quality content Fallout 4 has well over 4 times what 76 does. Likely 30 times the amount. Fallout 4 and Fallout New Vegas you can go back to a previous save before you sided with a particular faction and play the game all over again and get a completely different experience. You can’t do that in 76. All you can do is start a new character and even then you’re not going to get an experience that much different from the first. Revisted this game Last week... I've been pretty obsessed and playing an hour or two a day. I have to say. It's pretty great once you get rolling. And all I've been doing is sticking to main quest. It's a slow burn, but its fun. The exploration is really good. The community is helpful. The only annoying thing is occasionally running into someone that an INSANELY high level and decked out to the max full of ridiculous shit... It just seems silly and kind of breaks the immersion, but at least they don't just murder you because its not a hostile community. But its rare you run into those clowns. I pretty much just do my lone wanderer thing and maybe link up with a friend I actually know in real life. It's more fun that way. I have to say though, the game is fun though. It's an unusual stance to take, but I thought the Map and Factions in 76 were more thought out and designed better than the ones from Fallout 4. Yes, they're all dead by the time you find them but.... ....The Responders have more of an origin and better execution in their history than the Minutemen did. And a better aesthetic, especially with the Fire Breathers. The Raiders? FINALLY in a Bethesda game we get Raiders who all had distinct leaders AND names, specific locations and differing methods. The Crater folk were very well done. The Free States? Again, I saw these guys as better thought out than the Institute or the Minutemen or the Railroad. The BoS were pushing it, admittedly. And the Whitesprings Enclave with MODUS? I LOVED that.

I think Bethesda got the wrong end of the stick when it comes to multiplayer. They heard people begging for Skyrim co-op or multiplayer Fallout and took that to mean either an MMORPG or a fully online-based game like F76. Nope. The people actually meant they literally want a game like Skyrim or F4 with the ability to play with a group of friends. Skyrim Together is an AMAZING experience, especially for a mod. People want a rich, detailed, story-driven world that they can share with friends. Todd Howard already knows this. He talks about the "watercooler" moments where you and your friends can talk about how you approached a quest in different ways. So let us do them together! I admire F76 and ESO, I really do. But I hope Bethesda listens when we say we want a co-op experience. We want an unadulterated mainline BGS experience with the ability to "drop in" friends and share in the wonder together.

The part about these large towering camps breaking the immersion, I fully disagree with. It's the same as any other camp from any of the past fallout games. The only difference is NPC's built the large camps in previous games. If we're all alright with Megaton, I think a camp the size of that one should be just fine.

Yea but they're literally floating platforms with zero effort put into aesthetic/immersion half the time.
@AlwaysIllBlood
@AlwaysIllBlood 2 жыл бұрын
@@kmuck8677 Yeah, most humans don't have an eye for aesthetic. If we're to believe that everyday humans are re-settling with the supplies they can scavenge, a lot of them would have bad aesthetics IRL. The floating platforms are obviously not ideal but you see this in nearly every single game with base building mechanics.

I love this game!!! I've probably beaten the main story 4 times with my buddies. Plus the building mode is my favorite part. The original story at launch was lack luster to say the least but if you and your friend love the fallout world, you will enjoy this game.

After memeing 76 with my friends on debut, i was the only one who kept his copy. Occassionally popping in i found the grind to be horrendous. Its almost as bad as anime/weeb gacha games. It takes waaaaaay too long as a casual just to hve fun with your best weapons sometimes due to ammo. It gets stale fast unless you make things purposefully hard on yourself (i spent hours getting a megasloth pet). Only fun thing to do is just setting up a shop.... which you can do better in a Minecraft Anarchy server for free lmao

It's amazing that people still defend Fallout 76 as "good." I doubt any of you have as many hours in the game (or Fallout games in general) as I do (w/ over 5000 hours in 76) ...and I can say with passion that Fallout 76 is a fundamentally, and unequivocally a bad game, and not just a bad game... but a deplorably bad Fallout game. Move aside Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, you're not the worst Fallout game in history anymore... Jeff Gardiner's asset flip sh**-show takes that position, easily.

The game is good. If you are a true fallout fan and enjoy the fallout universes, you will like this game. That being said the combat is buggy as there is usually lag in the servers and the story isn't as good as the previous games. The multiplayer element is also pretty meh and could have been implemented better. I enjoy exploring the world and the varied landscapes, the loot system, the world still has that immersive atmosphere element which I love. The crafting and base defence features are pretty cool. And I like the seasonal online gameplay modes they have like there was a game mode called Nuclear winter which was a battle royale mode, I really liked it.

The game still hasn't live up to it potential although they made it a lot more fun to play! I read double eleven is going to help make content for it now which is really what it needs at this point. If they can keep good story content coming every few months that would be amazing! I am hoping the expeditions are the start of that. Wastelanders was great and the Brotherhood of Steel was really good. It just needs more story content at a faster pace. I'm still crossing my fingers that it all comes together because I love the game personally.

7:40 this is seldom... someone praising the sight... the range at which you can see stuff which is such an improvement to Fallout 4 especially with so much more things on the screen. People so quickly forgot back then and still nowadays how little was actually on screen in Falout 4. Yes, the engine was and is not on par with some other games of the same time in that point but it still was quite a jump. And still all I ever heard was and is (usually) how bad this all is.
