So I tried to climb the ladder with SCARECLAW

Hardleg tries to see how far he can get on the competitive Master Duel ladder with Scareclaw, a fairly recent OTK archetype which just received some support that gives it more plays when going first.

Loved that Herald of the Abyss on the Maxx C was totally the winning move there.

Scareclaw started out like a powercreep on Crusadia, but now has enough support with other Visas lore stuff to do some crazy shenanigians depending on what direction you choose to go. Kashtira and Mannadium both open tons of powerful plays now, and Vicious Astraloud makes for a nice backup plan in some cases.

In general, scareclaw is an extremely versatile deck. Since all it needs for getting its basic tri-heart line going is any single scareclaw, it leaves a TON of space open for any engine or tech cards you might want to add. I've easily made a couple dozens different scareclaw decks since it came to master duel, obviously not all equally successful. It has absolutely become one of my favorite decks

Duel 52 VS the Scareclaw mirror was insane... OTK'ing through a negate (which guaranteed them Maxx "C"), then an imperm, then another imperm, then NIBIRU... that was amazing.

Reminds me of when I started in Master Duel and mained a 40 card Shiranui Zombie deck, a surprising number of games they would stop my normal summon, but I would set Shiranui Swallow Slash and pray and often still clear spright.

In duel 36 couldnt you have went scarekash straight into ariseheart on your first turn because they used shangri-ira to special summon unicorn. Ariseheart doesnt say YOUR ira so you can use its effect if your oponent summons a monster from the deck with theirs at the beginning of your turn.
