And with that, Thorvember has come to an end. So uh, I know that like, a LOT of people want me to review Fatal Frame 2, and I actually had some stuff prepared for it, so I could review it this month. But I mostly wrote what I had written, because I kinda felt like I had to, and so the script ended up feeling very forced and generic to me. It had one of those "wow guys Tecmo are so silly" level intros, where I also went into why I hadn't reviewed the game up to that point. It was pretty much the intro to a Completionist video haha (Jirard if ur reading this, i am not hating, im actually a big fan. im just saying tho, step up ur intro game, fam.) Anyway, longer story even longer, I do have some stuff written for it still, and I hope to have a review for it out somewhere in January. It just kinda depends on whether or not my brain can come up with something cool. Once I have a fun catchy opening bit, skit or otherwise, then the rest of the video will simply write it's self. I'm like, 80% in control of my own actions. Send help.

Before 9/11, the original concept for DC3 (developed for the PS2) was to to take place in some metropolitan-style environment in the near future with dinosaurs rampaging through city streets. Presumably Regina would've made a return. After 9/11, Capcom scrapped that idea, so really the only confirmation of its former existence is a few pieces of conceptual art. It's my opinion that what was leftover (assets, art design) from that initial project became Dino Stalker, before Capcom decided to completely shit the bed and make this franchise extinct with its idea for a "proper" follow-up. What this all boils down to, basically, is fuck the Taliban. In addition to everything else, they had to fuck with two of my most beloved series at that time, Dino Crisis and Metal Gear. I knew I went to Afghanistan for a reason.

I haven't played Gun Survivor in about 20 years. I remember enjoying it, in particular because of the PSX's light gun, which allowed me to control the movement of my character. I thought it was innovative; and even more, there are still times when I, while I'm playing a Borderlands' game by instance, wish I could play first person shooters using a light gun like the one I used to play Gun survivor. I think it would add something extra to the game.

It'll probably be a while before I make a video on it, or the original game. Generally though, the first game to me is a very interesting game with unique and cool ideas, but with kind of an iffy execution. I dig it, it's very Japanese and funky. A bit like a modern take on a PS2 game, albeit a tad frustrating at times. The EW2 however, feels like a much more professional and polished game, but with far less interesting ideas and mechanics. Fun for what it is, certainly, but it doesn't really get me to think. Apparently Shinji Mikami didn't have too much to do with it during development, and it shows. I do still like it though. I'm sure I'll cover it some day.

I know this is an old review and I love it but playing with a Guncon 2 being able to lock on to enemies by double tapping strafe makes this game something super fun. Rack up them combos :)

ThIs is a light gun game. Not to be played with controller unless you're trying to miss the point. You may need to be older than 35 to appreciate it, also. It is actually a competent, fun and different paced light gun game for its generation. Still fun today, with the right equipment.
