Only 3 tops this one in my opinion. The second one was kinda weak in comparison. This defintley is a series capcom lost and should have kept going properly.

I think they dropped the series because Keiji Inafune was the main producer guy. They also dropped Mega Man when he left Capcom, so I wouldn't be surprised if Onimusha suffered a similar fate. Also the 4th game apparently sold like ass.

Honestly I never played Onimusha. However I have Onimusha2 Samurai's Destiny with Jubei Yagyu. Samonuske is his ancestor. Interesting thing is alot of the locations especially in the castle you were showing were put in the 2ND one as well. Thor High Heels please play and review Onimusha Dawn Of Dreams. With Soki, Jubei and others. It has much more content and depth it is not for casual gamers. Fun fact Yagyu is a Japanese swordsman Technique that means "Shadow Blade" or Dark Blade. It is a brutal and notorious form of sword fighting. Also please review Onimusha #3 Samonuske returns and trades world's with some French actor. They get swapped to each others timelines. I have only read of that installment. Never actually seen it.

I liked the 2nd one more even tho it mostly had the same story/assets but the multiple characters and extra modes made it hella fun. Many people say it's the old nioh but I think nioh is just hard in the sole purpose to be hard, onimusha was just more a hack n slash Capcomy game.

I'm kinda playing onimusha series as well, like u said, the first game is very simple, but it can be quite satisfying, then i started the second game, it is basically the same game structure but for some reason that i can't explain i just couldn't finish it, i'm almost at the end but i lost all the interest, gonna skip to the third game, looks like the third is the best of then.(of topic again, once you like survivor horror games as much as i do, have you ever played Kuon? it is for the ps2)
@thorhighheels7 жыл бұрын
Kuon is one of those games (like the first Siren or Echo Night Beyond) that looks really cool to me, but then I can also see it being kinda frustrating to play, given what I know about it already. But, no. I haven't played it yet. Though I'm sure I will review it one day.
@viniciusbarreiros12587 жыл бұрын
i just finished kuon, its ok, very simple for annyone who already is acquainted with this game style, but unfortunately like several survivor horror from ps2, it has frustrating control schemes, however the concept of using magical cards to face your enemys and the creepy japonese like plot end up rewarding you for playing.(and it is only 8 hours long), anyway, would be interesting watch one of yours review about it.

You know, after the aborted dumpster fire (I'm not even sure what that's supposed to mean but fuck it I'm going with it) that was the Resident Evil Director's Cut Dual Shock GOTY Prepare to Die Edition soundtrack, I really have to wonder why Capcom decided to pay fake Japanese Beethoven to pay his ghostwriter to compose another soundtrack for them. It's even more mind boggling when you consider that Capcom arguably has the best team of composers in the industry.
@thorhighheels6 жыл бұрын
Takashi Niigaki is a solid enough composer though. The RE1 Dual Directors Limited Collectors Edition basement theme was a MIDI-track rendering mistake. It wasn't actually supposed to sound like that, and if anything is more a fuck up on Capcom's end for not programming the track into the game properly. Kinda like how they pressed Strider 2 on the wrong disc, or how they promised UNCENSORED versions of RE1's cutscenes in one of it's many releases, but simply forgot to add them. Capcom is a bit of a bumble queen, but it's why I love them tbh.
@siliodon6 жыл бұрын
@@thorhighheels Oh yeah, I think I have heard of something like that now that you mention it. At least it managed to produce some pretty hilarious results. It reminds me a bit of how Koichi Sugiyama's sweeping orchestral score for the OG Dragon Quest sounds fantastic in the Symphonic Suite, but that effect gets a bit lost in translation when converted to 8-bit bleeps and bloops for the NES (the derpy, high pitched shrill of the Overworld Theme will haunt me til I die). Perhaps "aborted dumpster fire" is being a bit too harsh as well, as there are actually a few tracks on that version of the soundtrack that really aren't that bad. And yes, Capcom is bae, even with all their bumble fuckery.
