After watching this, I looked up Cing's wikipedia. And man,someone there had a hard-on for *S L O W, story heavy, mystery type western stuff.* (aside from exceptions like Monster Rancher DS and Little King's Story). I've only played Hotel Dusk 215 and got through a fair bit but I had to take a break after Chapter 3 because how slow (in an off-putting manner) it was and how plotpoints were thrown one over other. And this is all, despite being a really good adventure game. Their games were like a niche within adventure games, which is almost a niche in a gaming (not anymore, thanks Telltale). And given the time period when adventure games were considered "dead", releasing such games didn't help. They are gone now, but they made games unlike any other.

Yeah. Cing were really in their own ball park. They seemed to have a really strong vision, as to how they wanted to make their games. Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk, Another Code R, Again, and Last Window, all share very similar design and story telling philosophies. "Niche games within a niche genre" would definitely be a good way to put it. Which is also what bankrupted them haha. A large part of the company went to work at Arcsys. Where they made a spiritual successor to Hotel Dusk called Chase Cold Case Investigations. I haven't played it because it's 3DS only, but it looks interesting.

I tried playing this on my modded ps2 and since the game is pal and my TV is ntsc it looks like my TV is having a seizure because it moves at a slower frame rate. Is there a cheap way around this?
