Personally I’d like to see more Pitched Battles, I like myself a good siege but when it’s all sieges, the magic of it gets worn out, there’s only so many times we can see Cataphracts sallying out in an epic charge before it gets old. The actions definitely more spread out on a Pitched Battle but it’s definitely more dynamic, the reactions have to be quicker faster because those cataphracts are thundering down the hill but if you can just get those light cav to engage them, holding them down so you can pull back some heavy Spearmen or pikes to deal with those.

I agree. Siege favors methodical play, Pitched favors reactive play. Reactive play takes more skill tbh.

@@dam11232 sorry it’s a late response but a pitched battle is a battle that’s fought out in the open without fortifications. The difference between a full battle and a skirmish is the size. Full pitched battles are with entire armies while skirmishes are smaller engagements usually by a scouting or raiding party

nothing much just wrote close battle in subject and the game name and saw a video of him telling how to send replays posted in 2015 and just followed the steps and wallah ended up in one of legends videos!!!!

Two types of battles that should be posted: the first would be battles with zero unit restriction, just for funsies. And second: a battle between the same armies! To see who truly utilizes the faction(and the tactics of the game in general) to its greatest effect!

Fun crazy battle. A battle defined by its mistakes can be as fun to watch as a battle defined by big brain plays. Also really liked the different unit selection than usual and also I just in general prefer pitched battles. These players are probably noobs but I like to imagine the in universe reason is an ad hoc alliance between Rome and Seleucia fighting Parthia with both sides having really drunk and dehydrated generals/troops that didn't expect to fight that day so everything just went to shit.

Even if these were new players this.. was honestly hard to watch. I don't want to be mean but wow, that was just painful. It didn't even look like the Seleucids were even trying to play. Like it's one thing to make mistakes but they were just sitting there, letting their units get rear charged and watching Rome fight by himself. The Roman player probably should have been more conservative but at least he was playing the game like jeez.
