Tennis balls will be you’re best friend for distracting Lobo when he starts being disruptive and being naughty to get attention. At least then he can get a good run in to tire him out at the same time. He’s a working breed so you can distract the bad behaviour by teaching him a new skill and he will love it. Zoomies are always a good giggle, they need a mad half hour of complete giddiness. 😂🤣Kamp is looking fantastic and so great for a turtle update. Can’t get over how busy you are, don’t go burning yourself out 🤗

A tip, keep toys or tennis balls in your pocket when you and Lobo are walking around. When Lobo starts getting destructive or trying to initiate play with the tortoises, get his attention and throw a toy or ball for him. Play games he can do while y’all are working like tossing floating toys in to the streams or ponds for him or hide treats around the area you’re working in and tell him “find it!” to tell him he can go find the treats. He’s 2 breeds that have a lot of energy, so you have to use that.

Kenan needs to take Lobo on bike rides. There are special leashes designed so that the dog can stay beside you without knocking you over. Lobo should also have a place where he is allowed to dig. Kenan is all about natural behaviour so he should be working with the dogs instincts not against them.

@@YochevedDesigns high intensity running (like beside a bike) isn't recommended for puppies. It's very hard on their little growing bodies.

2:35 Quick tip, if you keep responding with that happy playful voice to him digging he sees that as a reward, attention. And since he gets that reward, the attention, when he is digging, he is gonna learn that digging is good behaviour. If you respond in a more natural way before redirecting, you avoid accedentally rewarding the unwanted behaviour. You are doing great, you are picking up all the things that come with socializing and training the puppy really quickly. Edit: 3:00 Same goes for the glove, calm response. Also did you notice that you shouted come back and Lobo actually came back to you? That is a great time for a reward (like your happy voice or a pad) because he actually stopped the unwanted behaviour (running away with a glove) and listened to your redirection/command and showed wanted behaviour (coming when called).

@@glennusher4160 Should probably have specified that with a reward I didn't mean a treat. I just ment it as an example that that is the time for the happy voice to come out, or to give him a pad. I agree that they don't always need a treat. At this point of age I would keep rewarding important commands like recall though, but it kinda depends on his development and skill level with these commands. His recall seems to be pretty good, so I am not too worried.

Don't know if you'll see this comment Kenan, but pay attention to his behaviour right after feeding, and if that 's when he's most out of control, try switching up his food, paying attention to the amount of calories from fat (can work just like sugar on behavior) and other ingredients if he has any skin issues, or excess mucous from the eyes or the rear end. Food sensitivities in dogs have become a very common issue. Just be aware of the possibility.

Kenan I'd say you're doing well with lobo mabe you could use the word no when he's being a nut and definitely don't allow him to mouth you,you wouldn't like him doing it to the kids so please don't allow him to do it to you. You're the alpha male, and yes im a dog owner of labradors and terriers, but you are doing very well with lobo and I love watching your videos with my grandaughters, keep up the great work. ❤️

Considering the fact that you would like to put the Japanese Reeves turtles in their own pond, and the Batagur need their own pond, you should totally dig a new smaller pond for those turtles and cover it ✨

Should reproduce Slinky size cage with 75% dedicated to 4-7 ft deep pond. The rest could be used for smaller torts, green tree monitors, false chameleons, etc. If he wanted to go bigger and badder, he'd make it a greenhouse.

Everything looks so good you can tell spring has sprung, I love the gator habitat it looks like you have just fenced off a section of swamp. Fred would be so happy seeing the care his animals are getting! Tip for lobo find the lowest part of the fence you cross and keep walking and just keep calling him even use a treat make it sound like the most exciting thing. He’s more than capable of getting over it he just doesn’t know it yet.

Those windows have a laminated layer that is designed to hold the glass in place after its smashed. Just know that the glass will have to be replaced. The hurricane rating part is that the glass doesnt fall out of the frame.

I detect your Long Island (“Lung Eye-Lent”) accent. When I was growing up we had a summer house in Stony Brook with a small natural pond on the property. There were also vernal pools in the woods nearby. Of course back in the day there was no shortage of Eastern Box, Painted & Snapping Turtles, Hog Nosed & Garter Snakes, Green & Bull Frogs, Spring Peepers, Diamondback Terrapins in the LI estuaries, etc.. Interacting with assorted herps was what sparked my lifelong interest in the hobby.

aw Lobo is so cute. so I have a German shepherd and they are very mouthy and vocal. what helped me was getting her those puzzles for dogs that you can put treats or food in. it stimulates their brain and gives they something to do with their snout and mouth. and kongs will be your best friend. good luck my friend lol they are fun energetic little things

Be very careful with lobo eating algae, my mums dogs came into contact with blue/green algae while swimming in a pond and sadly she was dead within hours. Its a horrible way to go (she basically bled out) .

blue green algae, dispite the name ISNT actually algae proper. Its a cyanobacteria and most folks familiar with ponds and fish tanks can tell the differance between the two Source - One of my tanks has been plagued with cyanobacteira real pain in the arse to deal with and I like on maximum alert for any more cropping up

If you have any chain-like left, easiest way if you can borrow your friends digger, dig a basic say 10ft X 10ft X 5ft mud pond, put a fence around it and put the Batagur in it, or the Alligator snappers, and the Batagur in the big mud pond.

Zoomies are a good indicator of overstimulation. Bet you he'll go to sleep if you took him straight to the crate when you notice it coming on. They are overhyped and can do unsafe behavior. Best to get him under control asap. Love the videos, thank you.

It would be great if you took Lobo to a training facility and have him trained to find buried turtle eggs. Just like the drug sniffing dogs. He would find eggs and sit and stay right next to them. They would give you great training tips too. Also, the advice that they gave below about not rewarding bad behavior is spot on.
