I truly hope that I wasn’t being obnoxious in Chat that morning. The Original Ghostbusters literally WAS my childhood- I was ten when it premiered in theaters back in 1984- so I was really enjoying spewing my trivia, quoting scenes, etc. Also, it’s not often these days that I get to catch you on Twitch. Again, if I overdid it, I apologize. I’ve watched the first two films so many times! Of course the sequel didn’t live up to its five-year predecessor, but I will never tire of either! Bonus Fact: Did you notice, in the Original, that Egon (Harold Ramis) looks down at his “mark” during the Ghostbusters’ first television commercial? Or that, after they caught Slimer at the Sedgewick Hotel during their first “case,” Peter (Bill Murray) had absolutely no idea what to charge for their services, so Egon was subtly flashing him (U.S.) dollar amounts...? Four Thousand (Egon holds up four fingers) for the entrapment, plus an added “Storage Fee (Egon holds up one finger)” of one thousand! It’s gems like these that make the first film so re-watchable!!

"I ain't afraid o' no ghost" That's what I grew up with. And now the game. When you had the stream on Twitch it was so funny when it started with the music from the soundtrack. My PS4 copy arrived yesterday but I am not sure if the bug later in the stream still exist in the PS4 version. But there came a patch out with some fixes. I have to find out. Thank you for upload this really cool, funny and good gameplay Gab.

I think it was big when it came out,but after a while it got taken off the store due to the license expiring or something. I'm excited since I missed it the first time around.

It's one of those games that you really needed to give it the time of day, which most didn't. It didn't really have much advertising going on, partly since it was Atari back then that developed it. Things like KZbin weren't exactly very popular yet and most media was streamed through dedicated sites (e.g. Screwattack). Keep in mind that back then, we weren't really about the "quality" of these types of games as much as we are now. Add to it, the fact that the controls are somewhat janky. Very fun though, which is the "quality" I mentioned.

Not really. I only saw a walkthrough on KZbin years ago and I've remembered it to this day. Same with Back to the Future: the Game. The problem with these video games is that they usually that they're usually considered non-canon to the movie makers. Many casual moviegoers won't bother playing these games either.

This is the best Ghostbusters game that we'll probably ever get, but it is a shame that for this remaster they didn't include the cut parade level. There's still references to the missing level in some of the cutscenes (and its even in the original trailer for the game), which means they probably also have recorded voice work for it. With modern hardware, the parade level should be no issue any more.

Yes, this game is canon. In fact, the makers of the upcoming 2020 movie have said they read the script for this game to ensure the plot for GB3 follows on from these events.

Also, Peter's love interest in this gane was supposed to be Dana Barrett again, revealing that the reason why she is always at the centre of ghostly activity is because she is a descendant of Ivo Shandor. When Sigourney Weaver turned down the role, they gave the part to Allyssa Milano instead, and created Illyssa as Dana's replacement. Weaver later said she would have accepted the part had she known that Bill Murray was going to be in the game.

I only saw the walkthrough/gameplay, and I remembered watching some scenes from the original movie AND the cartoon series, but I'm so happy they got the original actors from the first and second movies to reprise their roles in this video game! If they had this for the Nintendo Switch, I might play the game! UPDATE: Ok, I just checked out the original game for the Nintendo Wii, and it's COMPLETELY different than the remaster! For one, the Wii version had character designs that were slightly cartoony, like a combination of the original movie and the 1980's cartoon series. And for the second, sadly, there's no multiplayer version in the remastered.

Coming back to this game post Afterlife and Frozen Empire, it's painfully apparent that this game while not as good as the high points of either film, is definitely better then the low points of both. I'd rather this be the canon timeline with some events from Afterlife added as needed and we just can pretend FE never happened.

This game crashes and freezes and skips a lot of cutscenes and freezes and gets error code and it did on my PS4 and also on my brand new PS5 this game still acts up I did the 7 things to do on both PS4 and PS5
