headcanon: that is NOT her grandma. that is duolingo taking the form of her, kinda like little red riding hood. duolingo wants her out of the house because she's catching on. basically, duolingo never planned to impersonate the grandma this long but the granddaughter didn't move out so they had no choice but to keep up the act. that's how "grandma" was able to plan a date in 3 seconds. that isn't human, that's duolingo. once the granddaughter moves out, duolingo is going to finally be able to move on to the next impersonation.

One similarity that we share with spanish when texting is that "q" also stands for "que?" (what?) Other than that, all other expressions that were mentioned in this video aren't used in portuguese (sorry buddy). But here are some useful ones : 1. Kkkkkkk, kakaka or kjkjkjkj are very frequent expressions of laughter amongst portuguese speakers (mainly brazilian). Banging your head on the keyboard (literally just going djkskkskskskks) is also very common. 2. Kisses are commonly expressed in "bjs", an abbreviation of "beijos" 3. "vc" is an abbreviation of "você" and is basically the portuguese version of how english speakers use "u" instead of "you". 4. N, nn, ñ, ñn, nñ are all valid ways of saying "não". 5. S and ss are also used for "sim" 6. Last but not least, "blz" is very very used amongst portuguese speakers and it's an abbreviation of "beleza", which in informal communication means "okay/ all right / that's fine".
