A clear resin for the print would be wild if it came out really transparent. Black or navy blue for the blanks would be great with metallics in the voids. Love the creativity and innovative ideas you bring to your channel Zak.

Oh yeah, that would be sweet! I'll have to print some clear ones and see how that goes, great idea!! Thanks James, I appreciate it!!

That came out killer Zac! 😎 I finally did my first resin casting project this past week. Appreciate your channel helping me learn some do's and don't's of resin casting. Got a lot to learn, but I made a thing! 😁

Hi Zac, That is an awesome pen. I'll have a look at the Pipettes and Syringes as a good friend gave me a load of mould for Sierra Pen Kit. Great video as ever my friend. Take care Zac. Cheers, Huw PS Are you coming over for Makers Central?
@ZacHiggins2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Huw! No, unfortunately I am not able to make it out to MC this year. Things just didn't line up. I'm looking forward to getting back next year though

@@ZacHiggins That's a shame. Looks like I'll have to wait another year before I can buy some more of your pen blanks. 🤣🤣

Awesome video Zac. Thanks so much. I attempted to make some 3d blanks and cast them up but the resin seemed to be very brittle and chipped away from the alumilite. Any suggestions on the resin to use or different settings for curing the 3d blanks?
@ZacHiggins2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jakob! I sent you a message on Patreon with info on the 3D resins I've been using as well as wash and cure times too

Zac, do you ever cast "glow in the dark" blanks?
@ZacHiggins2 жыл бұрын
I do sometimes, but not too often. The glow powder is so abrasive on saw blades that cutting up one batch of blanks, and I need to have my saw blade sharpened 😕

@@ZacHiggins thanks Zac…didn’t know that about the powder.

Zac mane you should sell som of the 3D printed blanks for people like me that don’t have 3D printera
@ZacHiggins2 жыл бұрын
I plan to eventually, but I haven't had time to get on it yet. I'm still doing experimenting with 3D printing too, once I have everything dialed in, I'll get on it =D

How do you get the resin to stay together? It looks like it’s separated in the mold.
@ZacHiggins2 жыл бұрын
It sticks to the divisions, and in the end is one piece
