Karen was one of a kind. There will never be another like her. She had such a pure calming voice. And she was a terrific drummer. That was her passion even more than singing. Sadly we lost her so young. Thankfully we have her legacy left in her music. The Carpenters had so many great songs such as "We've Only Just Begun", "Rainy Days & Mondays", "(They Long To Be) Close To You", "For All We Know", "Superstar", "Goodbye To Love", "Top Of The World", "Sing", "Yesterday Once More", "Please Mr. Postman", "Only Yesterday", "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over the World)", "I Need To Be In Love" & so many more.

@@menoftomorrowchannelhey, havent heard anymore of Karen from you. Yes very sad and she had a bad mother...who told Karen not to eat too many cookies! She was never really overweight from what I saw. She was very sad and lonely...guy married her for her money...and she was so beautiful. I'm not blaming the Richard...but the closest to her mat e should have done more. When you go through ALL of her music...I bet she will be you're fav also!! Hey, I saw her in 74!! And watch the movies, documentaries on her. And bro, do you watch all the people on utube playing her? They don't do enuff....that's why I say get going!!

@@michaelasay8587 I will be doing more. I was looking into doing isolated songs of her, but I am not sure yet. I think I will do the original first and then isolated voice.

You should check out the duet Karen Carpenter and John Denver did on "The Carpenters' First Television Special" in 1976. Their voices blend together beautifully!

Karen voice is other worldly and her drumming and Richard’s composition and piano. Karens voice is so rich and full of emotion it brings you to tears.❤❤

Thank you for doing some of the Carpenters songs. Like many people my age, I was 'SECRETLY' a Carpenters fan, and especially 'KAREN' - but because they were so highly criticized by the critics due mainly to their image, that's why I was quiet about it. I am very grateful for KZbin and reaction videos, because I realized that many people enjoyed them. I enjoy reading comments from people when watching a Carpenters video or Carpenters reaction video - because I get to see that I was not alone in my reaction to the Carpenters and Karen's voice and how she performed. I do hope one day that you would do a reaction to their song, "A Place to Hideaway" ... one day PS: Also, I'm with you on many things that you were saying. Today, sadly they promote 'Devilish' type of music videos - the females are almost naked - and the 'music'... very ungodly. Well, Karen was more on the 'Angelic' side in my opinion. I am also glad that there are actually quite a few people that perform as 'the Carpenters' worldwide...Japan, Philippines, Chile, Britain, and even here in America. They cannot be exactly, but I am glad that they do try... and it does encourage me to know that people still do appreciate Carpenters music.

Yeah...it wasn't cool to like the Carpenters because their music was just too sweet and beautiful. No yelling or overamplified guitars or a raucous beat. Didn't sway me though, because I, myself wasn't cool. I liked what I liked and really didn't care who other people liked because I was never much about going along to get along.

Eve is an excellent choice. Karen was only 18 when she recorded that & sung from behind her drum kit. Such an extraordinary talent!

Hi! I feel your pain. I was an OG Carpenters fan. It really was painful when Karen died. Thank you for keeping her memory alive. I want to recommend one of my favorite performances and it’s an early one. 1970 on The Ed Sullivan Show. I watch it often and it gives me joy every time I see it. I hope it lifts your spirits, too. It’s the Bacharach/David Medley. It was performed live in front of vets and patients at Walter Reed Hospital for a salute to vets special episode. @@menoftomorrowchannel thank you for replying. Since I wrote the above comment something re:Carpenters changed. I’ve seen many tribute and copycat acts and most have left me, meh, others nice try. Well, algorithms showed me somebody and I watched. Well, I got goosebumps and chills SIMULTANEOUSLY. I’m going to link her but please watch Karen’s version of the Medley first. It will show how difficult it is to do and to be fair Karen’s drumming, too. The new one is well, something special. As a heads up she does all the voices. She has learned well. I use the term “channeling” that’s what she’s doing to Karen and to some weird extent Richard and he’s thankfully, alive. See if you agree when you watch her, Tori Holub is her name. Here’s the link to her video (she has many short ones on her channel). Be well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ6wiKKoht2fi7csi=cqZXs-CathRVN7yQ

I just watched KC: Starving For Perfection. Some of the people who knew Karen. Karen & Richard were best friends. Karen looked up to Richard and his talent. Richard surrounded Karen’s voice with the beauty of instrumentals. They were both musical geniuses.❤
