I love how Meowscarda is like a dark magician. Even when does moves like bullet seed or it’s signature move its like “muahahaha im going to win so you better stand down”. I also like its animation when you take it out of its pokeball where its so fast and it could catch up to the legendary you’re riding on. It’s also cute how it’s sleeping and how it puts its hands behind like it’s being shy. Just a great Pokémon for me it’s so good.

meowmeow is a goated starter idc what anyone says. Its blazing fast with excellent offensive stab typings and very strong and diverse moves to back it up on either side, physical or special. It also gets protean as its hidden ability which is one of my favorite abilities ever even though it got nerfed this gen. It can hold pretty much any item like a band, scarf, focus sash, some boots, or even something else. The suicide lead mixed set is impossible to scout, the banded set can 2 hit KO a lot of its natural checks thanks to crits, and the scarf set outspeeds almost the entire boosted meta game. I love you meowmeow

I don't care what anyone says, Meowscarada is my favourite of the 3 starters. On my first playthrough I picked Quaxly because the duck with hair grew on me big time leading up to Christmas (that's when I got it). Halfway through my playthrough, after Quaxwell evolved, I thought "Wow, he's pretty cool. I wonder what sprigatito's evo looks like." So I googled it and fell in love (platonically for all of *those* people out there) immediately. I dont think bipedal is the correct word for it, as most starter pokemon are bipedal. I think its when the pokemon starts off as a cat/bear/lion and ends up as an anthropomorphic humanoid that wears clothes. Obviously there are pokemon that are also humanoid like Mr Mime, the Ralts family, or the Machop family. But they are represented as humanoid throughout their evolution cycle. I personally just think its weird to have a baby animal turn into a human creature. And there's obviously a fine line there, as I think a pokemon Greninja works perfectly and is animal-esque enough to still recognize despite being more human-like. But weed cat looks like a straight up cosplayer.

When I first saw the full evolutions of the starters I was definitely unsure about them. And then came Meowscarada. At first I was uncertain. Then I took it out of its ball to see how he looked just chilling next to my character. Little butterball zoomed off, ran back up behind my character, and then fell asleep on my feet. After that, and after seeing him use Flower Trick, I have to say I absolutely adore Meowscarada. Best flashy cat.

To be honest, I was actually hoping for a bipedal evolution to begin with, perhaps something along the lines of Puss in Boots (which I’m now sure you could easily get with a cosplaying Meowth or Purloin) but what we got is the Masquerade Magician Cat: Meowscarada. Now that is awesome! And I really like it. Sprigatito’s whole evolution line has actually become one of my new favourites among all the starters. It almost has the qualities of both Joker and Morgana from Persona 5 rolled into one. I’d say that this video also makes a nice part 2 and conclusion to this video: “kzbin.info/www/bejne/iomTkmacqb55eZo” and that it mirrors the fan expectations of this Pokemon pretty well, as if to say “That’s not quite what I was hoping for, but I still love what my partner has become anyway”. I wonder if we’ll get any more Pokemon that people hope don’t stand up but if they do, then they still amaze everyone. Also, does anyone else feel like Sprigatito seems more like the kind of cat that is just really innocent, playful and friendly? That’s part of why I love it so much.

It's just that I'm tired of seeing Pokemon with human like qualities be the norm, especially on your starter. I don't HATE the new starters, but they just kind of suck for me. When you look back to the first 4 generations your starters where animalistic and felt like Pokemon, not a person in a fur suit. You had a plant/dinosaur, cannon/tortise, a fucking DRAGON, a badger, another plant dinosaur, an alligator, a fire chicken, a giant salamander, a gecko, A world turtle, Son Wu Kong and an Emperor Penguin. Yes, many of these Pokemon where bipedal, but they didn't feel human because of it, they felt like an animal that was supposed to be an two feet. Then they started coming out with Pokemon starters that filled some sort of fantasy role that started in generation 5. Their entire identity is now based on a very much human thing that doesn't naturally exist in the wild and doesn't feel animal, it's weird! You have a Snake/Emperor, Pig/Cheiftan, Otter/Samurai, Hedgehog/Knight, Fox/magician, Frog/Ninja, Owl/Archer, Seal/Popstar, Cat/Wrestler, Monkey/Drummer?!, Rabbit/Futball Player?!, Chameleon/Secret Agent?!, Cat/Magician, Crocodile/Mariachi, Duck/Dancer. That's 5 straight generations of starters being based on HUMAN roles. For a lot of people, myself included, the magic of Pokemon is that they're wild animals you find and catch in the wild. Having each generation place starters with increasingly human traits takes away a lot of the magic and makes the Pokemon seem less like a wild animal to be tamed and more like a human in a fur suit. Don't get me wrong, we've had humanoid pokemon before like Mr. Mime, the Machamp Line, Hitmon Lee, Hitmon Chan, Jynx and arguably Mewtwo. But these Pokemon aren't starters for 1 (which is the main issue) and they have their own strange classification of humanoid. They tie into the lore that Pokemon and Humans used to be the same species and all, but at least with these very human Pokemon they feel far enough removed from humanity to seem animal and not just a person in a fur suit. I hope that makes sense.
