Man, it's wild how far the Dropout production values have come

Feels like this was maybe late CH days, when their parent company was just not funding things. Glad Sam got to keep things running!

Um, Actuually No! This only applies to old soaps that had lye in them (and were hence alkaline). Modern soaps are ph balanced, and therefore totally safe for use in a cast iron!!

It’s a reference to a bit from a Dimension 20 Adventuring Party where Ally revealed their dad accidentally sent them an enormous jar of mustard that he’d intended to ship to himself

You gotta have hyperfixated on dropout for a looooong while to understand how the title relates to this video and I am deeply proud and ashamed that I completely understand the reference

I thought the answer was gonna be you wash your cast iron skillet with mustard...

Um, actually, you can wash a cast iron pan with soap. Soaps used to be much harsher and made from lye, but modern dish soap is milder and a small amount won’t strip the seasoning
@jameslewis62595 ай бұрын
One should always wash it with soap. Also, cast iron is not so good for even heating, one of the worst materials. Great for heat retention though.

Salt and pepper?? Ally that’s not what your dad meant by seasoning the pan
@ezekielmartin43235 ай бұрын
I'm told some people actually do literally season their pans. I think it depends on what you're cooking.

There's an Adventuring party ep where Beardsley talks about an enormous jar of mustard that was actually for their Dad. Sorry I don't know the ep and I don't want to spoil the story 😅 It's more hilarious if you watch them tell it 😁
