🌬️💨💨💨 Unfortunately, Sabrina wasn't that memorable enough to be a standout character. Honestly, the show didn't really need her. Was she boring?...Yup, did she have a boring look?...Yup...was the MAJORITY of her character boring?...Yup. Will she forever be remembered for the Cosby's?...Yup... remembered as boring.🤷🏽‍♀️

Some people don't realize that television has a big impact on society and Bill Cosby wanted to set an example for black television. The show was very inspiring especially a Different World which also inspired a lot of black people to enroll into college. Now all we have are reality shows and social media that display wretchedness that people try and want to emulate....SMH

I always heard she was ugly not boring. But ultimately they had to have one college aged child so her role which wasn't even originally written for, had to limited because of College time. Although alot of shows now will just have the brilliant kid go to a community college nearby with for some reason no dorm room. 😂

I believe Sondra showed quiet strength and that being loud and over the top were unfortunately the stereotypical way that Black women are portrayed. One of my favorite Cosby episodes was when Sondra was sick and the two grandmothers took the twins for a day out, presumably to give Sondra a chance to rest. Sondra was so delirious that she did not realized what they had done. When she learned who had taken her babies she went on a mad hunt to track them down, forcing Alvin to drive her from place to place. When they got to the Huxtable home, she went on a rampage searching every room. Alvin asked Healthcliff if he knew where Claire was and he said no. Alvin said, "How can you not know where she is? She's you're wife!" And Heathcliff said, "Because I have as much control over my wife as you have over yours!" I could not stop laughing at Sondra's antics and Heathcliff's commentary on them!

If she was away at Princeton it wasn't odd for her to not appear in the earlier episodes. I think k she added to the show as another child of Cliff and Claire. Expanding her to married with children, she didn't live in the house so it made sense she wouldn't appear in every episode. It didn't make sense to require her on set everyday with the depth of the role she had.

@@iamaNubianqueen It was odd to me to have her show up because there was never any reference made to her existence prior to her first episode. That she was away at Princeton could have been stated as she would have at least been discussed by family members even if we never saw her. This way, when she showed up, we would have known that she was daughter #1 home from college. She was clearly added after the show launched which is fine but just felt odd. That being said, once she joined the cast, I think that the writers did a believable job of working her character into the show.

@@chellyscloset2053 It was odd because there was never any mention of her in the previous two months. Up to that point, only four children were mentioned and then she appeared. We never heard Heathcliff or Claire or any of the siblings ever mention big sister Sondra. That was odd to me but perhaps seems normal to you. I loved the show but I know that the writers were working under Cosby's direction and he decided after the show was already developed and the family established to add a fifth child. The writers wrote her in realistically but Cosby himself admits that he changed plans midstream and decided to include a fifth child after the fact to mirror his own family.

I was fine with her personality on The Cosby Show. All five children were different. I liked her dynamic. However if I was Sabrina, I'd feel the same way. Elvin's personality was a complement to Sondra's. I wish we saw more of them as husband and wife and parents. It probably would've been nice to be apart of Sondra & Elvin's wedding on the show. Simply because the script after they returned from the honeymoon proved they were shifting their lives and the parents were hurt, shocked, and disappointed. I hope Sabrina knows all of her contributions to The Cosby Show were treasured by the fans and that encourages her heart. I still understand her point of view.

I absolutely adored Queen Sabrina on The Cosby Show. I did take notice of the lack of seeing her character. Producers didn't give her a fair chance to fall in love with the character. By making her show up to rehearsal for nothing was benefiting who? Did she get paid? I'm happy that she did move on to other things though.

I didn't like how it was revealed that she still had to show up to work and wasn't even given a decent amount of work. That's just wrong and would be miserable for anyone.

@@courtneypalmer53 I totally agree with you. Why waste her time already knowing you weren't going to use her? I also feel Bill Cosby knew all of it. It was his show and you mean to tell me he had no say-so with production? Him going to talk to someone was a front so she wouldn't ask anymore questions 🤔. I wish someone woulda swooped her up so she could continue acting but after the mess with The Cosby Show she threw in the towel with acting. Can't blame her for that.

I loved her character. I think the lesson I get out of this is that you can truly miss your blessing if you have the wrong perspective. Instead of focusing on all the negative things, the fact that she was on a show that had so many viewers was a HUGE accomplishment. Maybe it was her own view of herself that hindered her 🤔

Knowing what we know about Cosby now, I wonder if her lack of a real role on the show was due to issues with her relationship with Bill. She seemed to appear out of nowhere and her story lines always seemed tacked on… And mostly about lovable, clueless Elvin. She was the only character that was kinda nothing, but was forced on the show. Maybe they were lovers and he was trying to give her work?

@@dramanot yeah, but obviously a lot of shady things don’t come to light, and this videos seems to have general info. There are so many questions surrounding the women on that show. What really went on with Lisa Bonet? Why has she always been tight lipped on the drama? They allllll are for some reason… And yet so many people say it was known was he was doing. In my mind I say, well maybe he had a “don’t shit where you eat” mentality and didn’t abuse the women he actually worked with. But who knows?
