I dont agree that tokens were a problem in Gnomer, it gets to a point were everyone already has the token. The problem I experienced was that we were getting all tokens except chest or boots, which was horrible :P

adding tokens and not class restricting them was one of the dumber moves i've seen from the SOD team... its like they overkill every time the playerbase complains about something and it ends up being a problem of the opposite caliber. like in phase 1 people complained that the set pieces were pre-baked into boss loot tables making it feel bad when the armor type for your class didn't drop, but then they go ahead and turn the set items into dropped tokens that has no class restriction so the problem of obtaining them actually became _worse_ because now people are just rolling on them left and right be it for offspec or even to vendor. unless your raid has strict rules for when you are allowed to roll on the tokens people will just flippently roll without a care. getting my 3 set bonus this phase was about 5 times more frustrating than it was in phase 1, a peabrained monkey could have foreseen the problem of having tokens shared between all classes a mile away, like honestly... these guys aren't greenhorns, they are experienced coders that have worked with games probably all of their working lives, and this is a big rookie mistake.

Half as many runs requires twice as much loot-per-raider to drop. If we're seeing 2 items per 10-man boss, we'll need 4 items for a 20-man boss... and then double that again to make up for only having half the number of lockouts. So, 8 items per boss. Anything less than that is a net loss and it will be even harder to get the gear you need. In the end, the RNG boss is still the hardest one to beat. I've been running Gnomer for 6 weeks and I've still *never* seen the gun drop off the final boss.

@kiirbstomp Well considering gear differential is so massive, I mean Fire mages shot to the top instantly as soon as we got gear. It's easy to feel like you missed out on a phase when you don't have an item that makes or breaks your classes' performance. I've personally seen the gun a couple times, and I've missed several lockouts on that toon. That person has never seen it? Dear gooooddddd that's unlucky as all hell. I saw Hydra drop multiple times P1, and didn't see it on my paladin until near the end of P1, was still really fun to have, but I missed out on a lot of prime time without it. Imo phases should be at least as long as P1 was and a lock out a week. The whole point of Classic is to enjoy the world, be out in it, experiencing it, that's the essence of Classic. Not Blizz's fault people want to zoom through content like a torpedo then complain when there's nothing to do.

Feels a little bit rushed, only 8 weeks between phase 2 start and phase 3 start, and our guild isn't full of people who ground out lvl 40 in SM in less than 2 days to rush the raid lockouts. Our first guild group run into Gnomer was 2/28, and we can only get everyone together for a guild run once a week so we've only gotten 4 runs in so far. Yeah if we went more hardcore on it there were more lockouts that we missed, but starting next season the lockouts are 1 per week. Are we only going to get like half a dozen runs of ST then move on to the next thing? Doesn't seem like enough to collect the loot that's in there.

The phases aren’t designed for you to get full bis. If you don’t level at even a moderate speed, and you only raid once a week. The phase didn’t get rushed, you just moved dramatically slower than the majority of other players. If you want to play the game extremely casual, you will get a casual result. That shouldn’t be an issue.

Skys back with another one! Love the idea of rolling against half the classes on tokens instead of all of them. I also like that they aren't slot specific. My group found 15 boot tokens in a row in Gnomer, it was brutal! I only got the pant token last night, and the chest token last Thursday, but we maaade it! The instanced PvE content is exactly what the game needs. Something engaging, and rewarding to do between raids that isn't necessarily mandatory. Hope it gives a decent bit of moolah.

The portals they’re introducing should be the new PvP event. It makes perfect sense. You CHOOSE which portal you go into and those portals will have their own “server” or layer. Fixing the lag spikes when everyone is so spread out between portals. Keep it free for all just like STV but having players split into different portals choosing where they’d want to go, will fix the lag issue.

Not entirely, increasing stamina pulls slowly over time turns the one shot meta into more counter play. This was pretty prevalent in both recent WoW expansions for pvp. Super fast time time to kill. Super bursty meta. But once HP pulls average out and stam gets higher with more pvp gear it does slow the burst down enough to react/counter play. There will always be a “broken” class but I doubt it lasts long. Phase one was hunter, phase two it was shamans. My bet phase 3 warriors are going to be nasty with gladiator stance.

If you look at the datamine you'll see that the shamans tanking rune has been changed and now requires them to have a shield on to do anything. So they won't have that 30% extra health and 10% mitigation unless they've got a shield on. It currently looks like they're still going to one shot you but at least they're reasonably killable now.

I think the main reason I haven't had as much fun with Gnomeregon is because of how you can wipe in really weird ways. BFD was fun because once you got gear you could do some silly things to push the limit but in Gnomeregon as a Prot Warrior I feel like I have to play boring. I still die solo tanking Menagerie sometimes and it adds a lot of stress to a raid that should be smooth sailing at this point in the phase. IDK if other tanks feel the same way.

I'm old school. My biggest problem with both BFD and Gnomer are that both were TOO easy. I understand that, given the time constraints of each phase, it doesn't make sense to follow a traditional "Burning Crusade" progression arc; but it still feels anti-climactic to ding max level at noon, and clear the new raid that evening. Some fights aren't meant to be solo-tanked, and that should be ok.

As a Hunter. We don’t need more MM DMG, or PET DMG, nerf BM don’t care. We need more defensives, Disengage and Deterrence rework, PLEASE. Mages are getting even more mobility with blink rune. Rogue have shadow step, which can remove root from trap. Warrior can charge in combat and intervene, and can also remove roots from traps. Shadow priest put 2 dot on you and you are gg without healer, how do you counter that? Shamans have sort of freedom also. Please rework DISENGAGE it’s useless.

I dont care about "new spells never before seen", what i want from the rune spells is actual choices to make with the runes. So many of the runes are designed to work only for a specific spec and have no way of mix and matching runes to create new play style.

Correct! Actual players have been asking for synergy between multiple runes & specs. Like customizable class fantasy, game play and meaningful choices to make game play fun. But Blizzard gave you a cookie cutter option that you must chose or you wont be able to perform in raids cause they have them tuned so high for level 40 so you have no lateral movement with your choices. not that they have given you any to begin with. SoD is not in the spirit of classic in the slightest, its just wearing its skin!

I wish they would standardize the threat generation between the tanks. As a warrior main it feels like people are disappointed they don’t have a paladin tank. Blessing of Salvation and a couple seconds alone on the bosses is basically required. Whereas with a paladin/shaman tank, instantaneous threat is never even a thought. I don’t want threat to be mindless, that’s part of the fun, but please make it more even between tank classes.

Great change with the class tokes. Now instead of statistically rolling against 10 people every time, you roll against 5 people half of the time. Damn, those same 10% chance to get the item feel so different now. Except for when after a few weeks only one or two people in the group need the item and then ... the wrong one drops. If they are going to try and fix the STV pvp event they really need to remove the coin bonus for fighting around the boss. Limit the amount of players per layer and add more dangerous mobs forcing the players to move around the zone rather than camp one spot for 30 minutes.

Question: the crafting profs are getting new stuff every phase so far, is it possible the gathering profs get some love or am i out of line even asking, its almost essential to have 2 crafting profs but no benefits to having a gathering prof. maybe herbalists could find some special consumable herbs that give their own powerful buff. maybe miners find a special ores or gems that can give a passive buff keeping it in bags, keep a limit on how many you can have in bags but maybe they can also be consumed for a use buff as well. Skinners could maybe find meats to eat that give a buff maybe like a heart of the kill buff, perhaps you could even find special skining only animal poisons or buff items to apply to weapons for casters or something to give them SOMETHING rather than nothing.

REALLY not happy about having to deal with bloodmoon event again. I havent had any enjoyment out of it yet and i've done it as a mele, a caster, and a range. I did it for the few items i had to on each char and never went back again. I would much rather go wPvPing and thats what ive done personally because i love pvping. However bloodmoon is not pvp, thats disorganized chaos.

i dont know what the projection for warriors are in P3 with the lack of lets say changes to the class. most other classes do have transformative runes that break there normal way of playing. where as warriors its just a recycle bin. not saying warriors are trash. just yes gladiator stance sounds fun its returning. but i dont see how it will compete in dmg. unless its just a tool to save prot warriors from buying dual spec or respeccing in general. i take issue with the taste for blood rune tho. overpower from rend tick is nice if your not lazy and stance dance and willing to lose rage on the swap butttt no modification for rend itself. ideas? allowing it to crit. or even getting it to scale with weapon dmg somewhat.

Do you know how bad it feels to raid Gnomer some 20+ times and never have the pummeler drop as a feral druid? It's pretty bad. Also dual spec might be too late. I wanted to pvp and and do other content as a resto druid but not having dual spec meant i was locked into feral all of phase 2.

If tens of thousands of people show up to STV for Bloodmoon and it lags the server that honestly sounds about right… I can’t think of any other game that houses that many players on such a small area… so being mad because the tech can’t handle tens of thousands of players on launch seems unreasonable… I don’t think I’ve ever been apart of a smooth blizzard launch… which really speaks magnitudes of how popular this game is.

I'm one of those people who don't understand why they don't just... do the rolling for items in the back end and give them directly to players, having the same chance to get a drop as everyone else. I never understood this system of multiple classes rolling against each other, it just creates bad blood. For instance, I was a boomie that had to off-heal a dungeon. I healed the entire thing in boomie spec and was just fine btw. Came to second boss, defilbriator staff dropped. Arcane mage thought this was his staff, so he demanded to just get it. But I rolled against it because my previous staff was like a level 28 staff or something, terrible, and I was healing after all. Arcane mage was mad about me getting it for the rest of the dungeon, even though I outrolled, and I was playing healer.

What is with more and more reputations to grind, when seasons are so much shorter? I've barely been able to gear out one character and only do a few Blood Moons because of responsibilities and life, have my rings but only a 1/3rd to the mount. Let alone get rep with WSG and AB all for that one character. Now I have a new rep to grind, characters that level up easily, but that will never be geared unless I play within the time frame of a season extremely hard which is simply not possible. That to me is the opposite of respecting people's time, I have to say I'm getting FOMO with this next phase, especially it being literally in almost a week.

I am not a fan of the bloodmoon event as a caster, the one shots are beyond annoying and to top it off one of my bis trinkets comes from the event when I can barely leave an event with 200 coins or less. I am not a pvp player nor do I want to engage with it but you are going to force me to if I want a fantastic trinket. Everything else at this stage looks cool for phase 3, still going to play the game and have fun with some friends.

They made the previous BFD spell power weapon main hand only. It was my bis as an ele shaman in my offhand. Why did they need to make it main hand? now my only option is a shield. The patch notes from today also read "spirit of the alpha gives a flat 5% damage bonus" but in game its physical only. Not a good look . What if an ele shaman didnt have a shield right now to equip? they are completely out an entire equipment slot because of a shadow nerf of old content .

@TheComebackKids yeah your right on the ERA part, and no not a copy paste, I understand it's meant to be a testing ground for a potential future sell. It definitely was supposed to be classic + and I would say most would agree it has lost the classic feel almost entirely. Runes was an idea, what most players were looking for from SOD was ERA wow with balancing, QOL improvements, and less grind due to our age now. Talent tree adjustments was really all that was needed, new dunegons/loot and less grind gear/rep farms (at least from thoes I have spoken with -quite a few)

Personally, I'm WAY more excited about the dream portal PVE content than I was either of the PVP content additions in the first two seasons. I absolutely loved PvP in classic WoW but SoD really missed the mark with PvP. The damage has been far too high to make it fun and I am skeptical that a bit more stamina is going to do much to make this feel anything like classic WoW PvP felt.

While I'm happy about glad stance, I still don't think it's all that useful in PVE or PVP content, especially as a tank, where that loosing 30% armor and 10% threat is really not worth the 10% damage, and the shield block essentially means nothing, since you have an ability that garentees a block or two every 5 seconds. They should change that 10% block chance, to be block value, might make it better, or even make other stances to be better, Like additional hit when in battle stance, or Berserker Stance.

Honestly, at this point, I think I'm about done with SoD. It's clear to me now that it's a blurred vision; they don't know what they want to do. Do they want to be casual-dad friendly or do they want to cater to impatient parse monkeys who clear everything by day 4 of a Phase and wonder why they're bored? So much of SoD has been a case of 'too little, too late', including Dual Spec *finally* coming in now, when it should have been here Phase 1. And, now, announcing the next Phase not even 10 days before it launches??? That's absurd and completely disrespectful of players' time. (I mean, really, so is releasing time-limited content in a game when you have four versions of that game running simultaneously is too, but I digress...) When I'm given a choice between A) progress characters that will be around for expansions to come in Retail or Classic or B) try to catch up alts in the seasonal server while barely being given the tools to do so, my answer is easily A.
