My biggest issue is that they don’t care about Ant-Man as a trilogy. People will say “well they couldn’t focus on the other parts of the last two movies because they have to set up Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.” Well. You can still do that while also continuing/ending the trilogy of a character. Iron Man 1-3 and Captain America 1-3 did this flawlessly. They finished an arc of their stories while keeping it vague enough to continue the story if you don’t care about the overarching MCU Story. Quantumania doesn’t give a shit about its trilogy.
@WiloPolis03 Жыл бұрын
Civil War is great because it can function as an Avengers 2.5 film while still focusing on the main characters of the trilogy's arcs imo. Captain America, Winter Soldier, and Falcon still get plenty of focus. Man I love that movie

I don’t see how WandaVision could’ve been a movie. The way they change the style of sitcom each episode is sort of the core of the show & I don’t think they could’ve done that in movie form without it feeling jarring. I think I see where the confusion lies; there are least two ways to look at a ten out of ten score. I don’t think what we got was the best way to bring in the character. He shouldn’t have been in the Quantum Realm at all, and he should have become the leader of AIM. I thought the cgi was good. Modok def looked terrible tho. I read the same articles Jake mentioned about vfx resource reallocation to black panther 2, but even with that I still don't understand why modok looked so bad.
@jade_is_tired Жыл бұрын
I think MODOK looked okay, but a little weird; which isn’t a good place to be not because it looks really bad on its own, but because MODOK is kinda supposed to be hideously ugly in a realistic way and he instead looked kinda bad in a CGI way. I think the movie was okay, just not the type of movie I’d watch when not with my family. The cgi was kinda inconsistent. There were some parts done really well, and a lot of little moments where it just really stood out as characters being superimposed onto a CGI background and pretending to touch/interact with it. The biggest issue with that is even just a few moments of bad & obvious CGI kinda drag down the entire movie, since when CGI is done well it looks real and you don’t notice it as much.
@smuu1996 Жыл бұрын
To me, it felt like they just kinda AI-generated a Marvel script and then had a guy write Kang the Conquerer into it. Marvel can do better than this, especially if they actually gave their writers and CG artists the time they gave to the art department.

Imo it's not a 9 and it's definitely not a 4. It's about 7-7.5 which is *actually* average. I hate when people say that 5 should be the average when it's really not. 50% isn't the average, it's just the middle of the scale. 75% is the average for these movies. That's just the quality of the film tho, in terms of how you view it, I think this one is going to be quite subjective among viewers and this be very polarizing. Because it is EXACTLY what you expect from a Marvel movie at this point, and the average consumer loves Marvel movies, so it'll be a hit. But those who expected more will be disappointed. I for one rather enjoyed it because it felt like I was reading a comic book. Very little character development because we're already familiar with them, wacky story that gets right into the action with hardly any set up, introduces a new concept or setting with rapid pacing, and is filled to the brim with creative visuals and Ant-Man doing very Ant-Man things. It knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to stray too far from it. And I understand that it's also probably the exact same reason people are really disappointed, and it's warranted.
@krystofmec6491 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I enjoyed the movie and especially thought the humour was really good and well balanced. But it was a Marvel movie. Period. I feel like lately they were trying to add something in the movies. In DS it was Raimi, in Thor it was Taika, BP was a little bit more political etc. etc. In this one, they just gave up. They were like Listen, people are annoyed, let's just make a Marvel movie. And so as I was watching it and having fun, I was like Yeah I've seen this 15 times before. Cliché. Cliché. Cliché. No originality, no innovation. So I'd give it like 6.5/10. Well to be fair, regarding originality, I loved the scene with quantum possibilities, the ant colony and MODOK.

@avunz125 Жыл бұрын
@@jpc2470 it's not subjective tho, creating a ranking system is not based on preference. Everyone's rating system is personal and often not explained, but no matter what, a 9 means a level of excellence that is above and beyond good. Which, even just from the trailers, you can tell this film isn't that. Anything between a 3-7 could be argued, I think, but a 9? That's like giving this movie a 1 which would be equally absurd

So sorry, but SS:MoM was by far the worst film in the MCU. It's not even close.
