I kept fish on a skill just enough that my fish were alive and doing good but I wasn’t giving them their best for the first 15 years of my hobby until I discovered you in 2019 after a 4 year break. I kept your basic fish such as goldfish, bettas, bristlenose plecos, guppy’s, and platys during that time. Since I’ve discovered you, I have kept or looked after lots of American cichlids and have started planted tanks and blackwater biotopes and am breeding high end Endler guppies and breeding basic platys to be sold as feeder fish while also keeping my high standard of care. Thank you John and Lisa for helping me realize the true potential of my hobby even if I didn’t know it at the time. I started my fish keeping hobby at 9 years old rescuing 6 baby goldfish out of an abandoned inflatable pool in my neighbour’s yard with my mom and she went out to the store and got me a 75 gallon tank and I cut enough grass to get myself a 20 high and 45 for other fish from there. I even ended teaching my mom proper betta care by taking her betta out of the kitchen table fishbowl that was maybe half a gallon and into my 20 gallon tank with a bristlenose and she learned that no fish should live in a bowl thru a 12 year old me. 20 years later I have taken 2 breaks from the hobby the first being 4 years and the second being 2 years and now I’m back wanting more than ever before out of my tanks

Thank you for giving us the information that the algorithm doesn't necessarily think we want. With the help of you, Lisa and Primetime Aquatics, I went from being a noob fish keeper to a proud fish keeping nerd. I can't say I know more about fish keeping than oil/watercolor painting, art history, gaming and munitions (what?), but from the hours I've spent watching your channel, I could easily give a factual lecture on everything from: How to keep your fish happy and not alive, to Meds-don't wait until you have a problem to buy them. Screw the algorithm, it should t be about that when it’s something you love, but I know sometimes you need to do it so you’re seen, which sucks, but please keep making the videos you do, I love them and find them the most helpful.. @kg tropicals in Jan 2021 you saved my brain from imploding and giving up after 35 yrs with multiple tank syndrome, i found you guys when i busted up my leg in multiple places and couldnt walk for 6 weeks and was nearly 3 months before i could actually do anything in my fish room, and newrly 6 months before i felt normal.. i lost countless killifish due to not being able to re wet the peat moss in time for the next generation, luckily my kids could keep up on the discus and pleco breeding tanks maintenance , keep it up haters will always hate...its all they know As for offending people, some people get offended when the sun comes up, and throw a 3yr old style tantrum when it sets at night its impossible to please everybody, so dont lose any sleep over it

Hi John & Lisa: I was a fish keeper 20 years ago, got out of the hobby and have returned this year. When I had my 125 gallon in 1990, there was no resource beyond hardback books available to help me along. Now I have found you guys and while I am not technically a “beginner,” I feel like one because of all the information available on UTube. You have helped me along and I now have a successful 29 deep tank that is fully planted and stocked. Thank you. By the way, I don’t care about your politics - I don’t watch your channel for help with my thoughts beyond fish keeping. I truly appreciate what you do and will remain a loyal watcher and customer. Don’t let the haters get you down. Let them go wherever they go and just keep doing what you love in life. Few of us are lucky enough to make a living doing something we love. Keep sharing!
