Thanks Keith, I got my first mill, a 1942 K&T 2HL PLAIN when I was in high school. It needed a LOT more work to get running but I only paid 6 cents a pound for it. Has been a great machine for over 40 years now...

Well bought. Glad to see a usable machine so low priced. I'm 46 and have ran a fence construction company my father founded in 1980 for the last 20 years. Due to a rare tick born infection called Tularemia, my physical strength and stamina was permanently impacted. Having watched Keith from almost the start of his channel, it helped me decide to move into another career and I am signed up to learn machine technology this fall. I hope that with my already advanced mechanical, electrical and welding skills that I can transition my business into a job shop where my brains are more important than my brawn.

Glad to see you got your head cleared up and everything. I wish I had the opportunity to buy a piece of equipment like that for my garage but I don't have three phase power and ANY machine within a day drive of my garage would have an extra 0 on the price and would be in far worse shape. It kinda makes me sick to see warehouses full of equipment just sitting there for years and years because they want $10,000 for a 50 year old piece of equipment they they picked up for scrap price a couple decades ago. But such is life.

I just recently picked up a 60's Clausing 14" lathe and tomorrow I'm going to pick up a mill. I've wanted a mill for some time but couldn't justify it until recently. The lathe was a project but the mill is going to be able to hit the floor running. Good machines are kind of hard to find at a decent price here in Florida.

I have a couple hundred cutters that I ended up with from an auction. Everything from thin cutters to ~6” spiral. Most still have plastic on them (I assume from having been sharpened). I believe all of them are American made HSS. I thought maybe someone watching this may have a need since they’re just taking up space in my garage currently.

From my time in the Industrial Equipment industry ( I did mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics and pretty much everything else) we always tried to sell the customer matched v-belts or two ,three, four + "multi V belts". Like 4 "D" belts in one. Wasn't much more expensive and it was a "fix it once and you're done". So many just got random belts of the "same" size but not matched and bitched that they didn't run the same. Um. "That match number on the belt is there for a reason".
