Alot of younger folks interested in radio Comms and emergency operations utilizing many of the bands join the military. The USAF has many career fields utilizing HF, encrypted SSB and satellite comms. Being an AF guy myself I was always intrigued by how we communicate through technology. 73 to our future Hams.

That was excellent Michael. Thank you so very much for the explanation. I am one of those hams who is trying to figure everything out. I am a reader so, besides the ARRL handbook, are there any other books you can recommend for learning ham radio and all about the antenna world? I think one thing that I have come to understand is that one antenna does not fit all due to several factors. I am one of those folks who would like to talk to folks around the globe and have a radio for emergency purposes. One contest that I do enjoy is the 13 Colonies. I am also in the process of learning CW. I feel like I have missed so much information somewhere that I can't piece everything together. Do you have any advice to offer me? Thank you for sharing the great video. KO4UWU. 73
