@@NjBoriG35they started in 2009. you’re correct. the coupe came out in the 2009. i think the reason most vendors include 2008 is because the 2008 g35 sedan is the same body style as the g37 sedans so customers searching know certain parts are compatible.

Except there will be nowhere to fuel it as gas becomes rarer and more expensive. I love vqs man, myself actually owning a 14’ Z nismo. But it makes me sick to my stomach seeing so many owners just clapping these cars out with different colored body panned to buying the cheapest parts for the car making it overall sound like crap and look it too. Now if it’s somebody buying one that’s already clapped and already sounds bad and that’s all they can afford, that’s a different type of story But overall I really only have respect people that take their time to make them look and sound good. With that being said I still love the vq itself and can’t ever go wrong owning one

I own a 2010 g37, 08 g35, and 2004 350z roadster. I’ve been having some ghost codes which I can’t figure out on my g35(p0021,p0011). Cleaned the vct solenoids. Didn’t helped. Replaced both solenoids with ones from 1auto. Did not helped. Replaced with hitachi ones and still didn’t work. Drive ability is perfect with no issues which is the strange thing. Did the relearning every time. Replaced the camshaft sensor and it started a long crank so installed the old camshaft sensor and that fixed the long cranking. Checked the oil pressure. I guess you are supposed to do this during 80C and it was at 20 psi. As it gets really hot it goes to around 14-15 psi. This is at the resting rpm’s 700 or so after it’s fully warm with almost 100 degree weather outside. So I don’t think it is the gallery gasket. I watched people doing the oil pressure test but they don’t seem to mention that you must record numbers around 80C or 120F because once it gets really hot then the oil gets very thin and loses its viscosity.

The Vq35hr can definitely handle 500+whp reliably for a very long time some can even hit 600+whp as long as the torque is kept down. The Vq35de’s on the other can only handle around 400-450whp max
@DEATHWISHVQ
@DEATHWISHVQ Жыл бұрын
The torque is always lower than the hp on vqs. DE’s handling 400-450 is a huge misconception, you’ll find videos of stock DEs doing 470 and under. It’s hard for me to find actual videos of people making content pushing early 500 hp on a stock DE, to my knowledge that’s where you don’t want to go, it may last but the question is how long? Any car can make a high number than usual on the dyno, but it’s the longevity. Here’s the thing tho, KZbinr bedistinct made around 460 wheel on his supercharged G, he’s put over 10k miles, more than a year, but the question is does he always keep the same psi as he did on the dyno? I know VHR have proven multiple times it can push 600 fine, I think people have blown up around 650 and of course 700 is just a time bomb. VQFRU made 503 wheel on his stock DE, unfortunately they are selling the car and only provided ONE video doing pulls so there goes more research. I’ll keep doing more research though.

@@AQCE245 you’re right. I’ve seen an NA (I think HR or VHR) making 400, but ofc it was using like a race fuel and some other crazy shit, NO NITROUS. But that’s beyond, most people just go FBO with mods and pump gas on average. This video took forever to make, I thought about making a video on EVERY VQ ENGINE, not just the G’s and Z’s, also I realized a few weeks ago that the DEs that are in newer maximas they make more power than the 350z G35 DE, they’re known as 2nd Gen DE & 3rd Gen DE, apparently they have HR heads. Since they are FWD VQs they have less drivetrain loss so they make 300 wheel easily with an exhaust intake basic stuff.

What’s the difference between rev up and hr engines??
@DEATHWISHVQ
@DEATHWISHVQ 6 ай бұрын
I’ll list some that I know. HR head has more air flow compared to the DE, the DE/DE REVUP has an air flow of 270-280 CFM, the HR head has an air flow of 300. Of course the HR has dual intakes, hence why the HR just makes more power since it has more air flow. The DE has variable timing on the intake side, the DE REVUP has variable timing on intake & exhaust. The REVUP rpm redline is 7000, the HR is 7500 rpm. The DE rods are thinner compared to the HR rods, hence why HRs can handle over 600 wheel on stock internals, torque is what kills an engine, so in the case of a DE it will handle around 400 torque safely.

Both the G & Z seem to have a very similar trait, which is smooth body lines, as for aerodynamics that’s more based on aftermarket body kits imo, the 350z nismo I would say ofc has good aerodynamics out of any vq especially with the vented rear bumper for air to escape and not act as a drag parachute. I prefer the nismo 350 over any 370 all day.

They have the exact same chassis, so they can handle the same with the same upgrades. The g35 looks a lot better tho. The g35 has better aerodynamics too. It has a drag coefficient of 0.27 compared to the 350zs 0.3.

@@Midnightvq the only reason a Z looks more sport is because of its slope rear. You’re talking about stock cars, almost older stock sports car look funny especially with aged headlights that G’s and Z’s get. Look at stock silvias they look like Camrys lol but nobody plans to keep a stock car looking stock. They all serve their looks and purpose when modified.

So if I wanted to swap the g35 what would be the best option for engine swap
@DEATHWISHVQ

It’s all up to preference. The VQ35DE will handle under 500whp reliably, 450whp is a sweet spot for longevity. If you try to run 500 whp I’m not 100% sure how long that will last I base this information on what I’ve seen other DE KZbinrs run, not many people online share valuable information like that it’s a little hard to find the proper information. But yeah if you want to push over 500 whp on a DE it’s best to be safe and add pistons and rods, to take the abuse. Building a DE will be the cheapest option and you’ll save more money there’s a lot more aftermarket parts. I think it’s worth building the DE, bc a built engine with 500whp will feel more funner than a stock block 500whp. The VQ35HR I’ve seen on Soho Motorsports videos they have made 600whp on the VQ35HR stock block, but again I’m not sure how long that will last. The VQ37VHR will handle 600whp stock, so you can make more power of course. One thing to note the DE 350Z weighs the least of all VQs, the G35 weighs the second least, and the G37 370Z are the heaviest. Do a lot of weight reduction on your 350Z or G35 and you’ll be even faster. VQ35DE will only reach right under 300WHP FBO, the VQ35HR will make 330 FBO, and the VQ37VHR will make over 350 whp. If you want a fast fun G35 for track or street NA power, the VHR would be a good option to swap since it makes the most power NA, plus an NA car with 350 whp will be more responsive since the power is always there. imo I would keep the original engine, and just turbo that. Because if you get a shop to engine swap it and do the harness swap too you’re gonna pay alot of money, unless you’re confident doing the swap yourself. I’ve seen a KZbinr turbo his G35 DE making under 500 whp, turbo kit and supporting mods + tuning he spent under 10k which imo is a very good price, to put it into perspective you’ll spend over 3k+ doing a swap just to make and extra NA 20 hp. If you want more NA HP do the swap, but if you wanna turbo the swapped engine it’ll be more money to make a custom turbo kit, Just buy a G35 turbo kit that bolts up, add fueling upgrades and you’ll have more fun hearing all them turbo noises. I can link you some of the videos I talked about here. I actually want to make a future video talking about doing swaps.

Actually, the de is only good for 400 to 450 hp before you need to reinforce the internals. It's the torque that kills the engine. But these videos are all over KZbin, and the information is on tons of forums..

@@12pawsinn that extra 50 whp you’re talking about is quite a lot of room. I’ve seen people run fine pushing 450 whp, however I do not know 100% if they are running that same number everyday, as KZbinrs make dyno queen numbers then click bait “500 HP G35 BEATDOWN” but then go to say hello guys I’m pushing 7 psi rn so it’s actually 370 whp haha. Unless someone has actually said “hey I was pushing 450 whp for 20k miles after my engine blew” then idk what to actually believe. Try not to take words for face value, most of the people saying 400 is the limit are old forums I’ve read, then gets spread on here, but I’ve seen people run over that with stock internals. But even then the question is always “you’re fine pushing 450+ but for how long?” If you have any cited information of at least 3 people saying their engine blew pushing 400-450 with stock internals I’d appreciate it.

@@smcb58 In terms of underrated and not talked about VQ engines, the VQ30DET would be my favorite of the rest, as it’s a factory turbo VQ it would be nice having a rare older Nissan car with a stock turbo VQ.
