As a radiographer who works with radiologists every day I can confirm that there are all kinds of personalities among them. Many are introverted, quiet, prefer to stay in their caves, but many are also extroverted, talkative, and steer towards interventions. @ieatgrass1083 жыл бұрын
@@LLansnnslsmsk no a human factor is always needed especially when dealing with life and death emergencies, a law has to pass to even allow it which seems unlikely. Every human body is different and if you code an AI it will be limited to the body types u coded and might make the wrong judgments. A very experienced radiologist literally saved my life, if a normal radiologist saw the scan then he likely wouldn’t have notice my symptoms and sent me home and I would still be in the hospital to this day trying to recover. A robot wouldn’t notice the smallest details and it might end up costing your life if they were radiologist. Maybe in a 100 years where AI becomes much smarter but I’ll probably be long gone then.

@I eat Grass, I think what marven camille means is that AI can make Radiology much easier in the future, and I also think that too because as technology gets better, the job will become less and less hard to do, and although I don’t think AI will take over, it will probably make the job much less skill level requirement therefore probably less pay. Radiology is probably one of the most likely specialities to evolve in the near future due to new technology.

I'm a radiologist myself (specialist in radiology I think you call it, here in Germany we call it "Facharzt") and I can just highly recommend it. From the first part of clinical training I disliked rounds and liked taking care of things at my own pace. Of course emergencies need to be covered urgently but otherwise I enjoy looking up things only for an hour while working and then go back to reporting for an hour (roughly said). What this job requires is most importantly critical and analytical thinking, of course anatomical and pathological skills and skills with your workstation (knowing how a computer or your software works boosts your speed).

@@Slothsquadofficialyt Depends on the country you're in. In Germany/in my case: I went to school for 13 years in total (now it's 12). Then you can directly go to University, studying medicine takes in total six years (2 preclinical, four clinical) until you are a physician. Then it's the specialist training which is in the case of radiology five years until you are allowed to work without a senior physician around (guess that's the residency stuff in US).

Another thing that you missed is that radiologists have to have a good connection to their radiographers! Radiographers are the ones that perform the ct's, mri's, X-rays, radiation therapy and so on. Sometimes the radiologist relies on them to also tell them the condition the patient is in because radiologist often don't have the time to see them themselves. In Mri where parameters are essential and very precise knowledge of physics is required the radiologist has to often communicate with the radiographers what sequences suit them best to get the best diagnosis. :) I Would love to see a video about So you want to be Radiographer

There are a ton of subspecialties and hidden gems about pathology. I hope that future medical students don’t believe the stereotypes regarding path. Residents shouldn’t go into path because they’re tired of patient contact, but more so because of the science based aspects of it.
