That is a big fish.... did you say you're throwing a bucktail jig? Like a treble hook w/ white/yellow hair like? They seem to be a universally good lure in salt/fresh water alike..... I didn't know that fish got that big either. I guess I've seen so many 12-16inches that I needed a real fisherman to show us? Good job, thanks for another video ; be safe >> > peace & GB

What was that in the water behind your yak while boating the first snook? Looked like a shark fin.

Random question for you. I’ve seen all of your videos and I’ve seen you catch BIG fish on light tackle. So my question is, I have a Daiwa BG MQ 3000 with 10lb braid. Do you think that’s too light to throw from the beach or would you put 20lb or so on it?
@TheLawlessTide3 ай бұрын
Just set your drag appropriately and you should be fine. Just use a leader appropriate for the fish you are catching.

The only thing Hobie just doesn't get??? Width is better than length. 40" wide and 10' long is way more stable. Insignificantly slower at top speed. Same effort at slow speed. I've had an Outback, Revo 11, Compass, and a Native Propel 10' that was 38" wide..... The Hobie drive is so much better than the Native's propeller drive..... that nobody should consider a Native. But a wider Hobie would be better. Even in this clip.... When you're leaning to net the fish with side current, you look stable "enough" with extra concentration. 6 more inches of width would have eliminated any worry. Nice snook. I tapped the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters.
