I've fallen in love with Orks cause I can't stop kitbashing and literally the entire GW model range is up for looting! I have Tau and Dreadnought looted Deff Dreads , I turned a necron flyer sideways and made it a jetbike. Current im working on an Ork Knight which can double up as an Ork Naught! In the future I hope there's detachments for more vehicles as battleline.

Actually, the Deffkoptas CAN shoot all of their high quality guns in melee, as they have the Vehicle keyword and so benefit from Big Guns Never Tire. They can also Tank Shock. I don't know why they don't have the Mounted keyword instead, but there you go. Of course, they also have the penalties like being shootable in melee and being affected by Anti-Vehicle guns.

Excellent video. However, I disagree with your interpretation of "Dead Choppy". The word "additional" in that context implies that the Deff Dred is equipped with one dread Klaw and that each additional one gives an extra attack. Making it 4 attacks for the base dread Klaw, plus 2 for the additional ones.

Yeah that’s how I read it. It says additional not every.

Yep you are right. You get 3 Dread Klaws and "additional" means you get 2 more, so 6 attacks in total! Thanks for the correction.

For anyone who wants to skip the math, this is how I worked out how to take one unit of the monopose Boyz and one unit of the multipart Boyz and turn them into a unit of 10 shooting Boyz, and a unit of 10 close combat Boyz; 1x Boyz (new, monopose) - 1 Boss with Power Klaw OR Big Choppa - 1 Boy with Big Shoota OR Rokkit Launcha - 3 Boyz with Shootas - 5 Boyz with Sluggas and Choppas 1x Ork Boyz (old, multipart) - 1 Boss with Kombi-Rokkit OR Kombi-Scorcha - 1 Boy with Big Shoota OR Rokkit Launcha - 8 Boyz with Sluggas and Choppas OR Shootas With the above, make 2 units of 10 Orks each; CLOSE COMBAT - 1 Boss with Power Klaw & Big Choppa (new) - 1 Boy with Rokkit Launcha (old) - 3 Boyz with Sluggas and Choppas (old) - 5 Boyz with Sluggas and Choppas (new) RANGED COMBAT - 1 Boss with Kombi-Scorcha (old) - 1 Boy with Big Shoota (new) - 3 Boyz with Shootas (new) - 5 Boyz with Shootas (old)

first of all: great video, keep up the work! :D I love this combat patrol box, i played 3 matches in combat patrol and they were all really fun with the boyz. I played against black templar, imperial guard and world eaters. The only 'bad' matchup i can think about is guards. They have a strategem that they can't be charged for one turn (army-wide) when they have their commander on the field. So basicly this nullifies your waaagh in the charge phase. this said, the game i played was still really fun! i can also say that orks got though compared with 9th edition, i run an evil sunz list and the vehicles now got a proper toughness how it should be. for example koptas had a toughness of 5 (same as a regular boy?) and now in 10th they have a toughness of 6. As said before, i expanded the combat patrol box with a trukk, 3 killa kans, 3 warbikers and 10 gretchin. in the previous edition this was around 750 points, currently in 10th its around 850 points. Any tips on what to add to get to 1000p?

You are absolutely right when it comes to the Orks vs Astra Militarum matchup. Artillery strike is a strong counter against Orks. When it comes to your upgrade I'd definitely consider a full squad of 20 gretchin and Zodgrod!

Thanks for the video! I've been looking to get into 40K and while I only got a few models here and there, Combat Patrol seems to be the most balanced way to get into it. I've been eyeing the T'au Empire combat patrol since a lot of people at r/Tau40k seem to be gravitating towards it, so I would love to see that as well!

It's on the list and I'll get to it soon. Combat Patrol is definitely the easiest way to start playing and collecting 40K. All you need is one box and you are good to go, plus the contents of the Tau combat patrol are a really solid starting point.

Stumbled on this vid thanks. Ive got the orks from assualt on black reach and the boarding patrol set (with snikrot). Im in a dilema as to how to grow my force. The combat patrol, the xmas battleforce (still some availability online) or the newly announced set with the stompa. By all accounts its supposed to be a bad unit but boy it looks cool 😅

I’ve slowly been buying/building an Ork army. So far I’ve gotten the CP box, 40 boys, 60 grots, 3 killa kans, 5 nobs, big Mek with SAG and 10 kommandos. I know I want at least 2/3 trukks, but if you any recommendations after that I’d love to hear them.

I don’t play orcs too much in tenth but, Zodgrod is pretty cool with grechin can turn a 20 man into something more useful useful than a backfield holder might be a bit pricey would be better if you could take 30 per squad. People seem to be loving the mozrog skragbad. He seems pretty cool into custodes and even knights. And gets two attacks from waaagh as has an extra attack weapon. Orks don’t have the greatest anti tank so him getting extra damage for big stuff and huge stuff is nice.

Thank you for your video! I only recently got back into the hobby after a lengthy break of nearly 20 years, so I'm not to sure about some rules. The Deff dread is equipped with 3 Dread klaws, and the Dead choppy states +1 Attack for each additional dread klaw. So 4 Attacks on the first one and +2 for the two additional one equals 4+2=6 attacks, not 7, or am I missing something?
