Wow! This video really hits home. This is more then just a gear review and rig show off. This is the psychological reason why many people choose the Overland the feeling of camping or living on the edge of earth. Having a overcome obstacles and challenges. The feeling of being disconnected from the real world, and taking a moment to pause life, and just focus on the present in front of you. This video really hits home and thank you so much for the time and the effort in the editing it’s an inspiration to see that it can be done

Actually, what you guys are talking about overlanding is what behind the just action of overlanding, the purpose, the sparks on the way, the communication with the world( not just human beings but also the logic and the mindsetting), and i can't agree more that these things are right the overlanding which offer us, much more beyond the technics and the life while we are on overlanding. Bravo !

Michael. Dude. I was NOT expecting the personal angle in this video. I couldn't agree more about the benefits of reconnecting with nature. As the owner of several businesses, I am stressed out quite frequently, but whenever my wife and I can get away for several days into the "wild," all of that stress fades away. It's a very healing experience for us. Thx for sharing this with all of us!

Words of wisdom. Love the encouragement to disperse. That’s part of the adventure is finding those places - especially in the east where there’s so much private land. But those special places are out there if you look hard enough and prepare to go far enough.

Created an account just to leave my first comment on this video - as someone who knows the subject well, i was struck by your beautiful description of your daughter’s unique journey. Thank you for your vulnerability - she + your fans are not alone. John Muir likely had that same unique way of being & I agree: nature can be a wonderful salve for our cultural stress (school, work, etc.)!

So true places like Horsebend and Alstrom Point have been destroyed because of social media. Now they force you to pay for parking at Horseshoe and it’s a zoo there with tour buses going through. Glad I went a few years ago when it was empty. Point is go NOW since these places change so dramatically whether that’s natural or tourism.

Horseshoe bend is a stones throw from the pavement. It's nice, but extremely accessibly. I like to find epic locations like horseshoe bend that are not on the pavement and a bit harder to get to.

Is there any chance you would ever do a 1-month trial membership or something where we can check out the community and the resources you have available? I would love the opportunity to check out the group and lean about how to get into the overland world without having to make the full annual commitment.

At what point do the mods, gear and gadgets become too much? When it exceeds the value of a new vehicle?
@JimYeats
@JimYeats 2 жыл бұрын
No, that just means you need to look at more expensive vehicles. The mods, gear, and gadgets are necessary to let everyone know you’re an overlandererer, which is the first rule of overlandering.
@WoodcockFamilyOverland
@WoodcockFamilyOverland 2 жыл бұрын
You don’t need the mods gear and gadgets, it’s all a choice you make. For example you might want to spend some money on better tyres or suspension that give you that capability to get on the trails you want to explore… or you spend some money on an awning so you have a bit of shelter, you make yourself a drawer system because you want to have your gear organised etc. If you really enjoy it you will go down that road and it won’t be about the value of gear vs vehicle. Some newer vehicles might not even be the best option for what you want to do.

Ya! There area meetups in your area from time to time though I don't see any scheduled at the moment. in the app you can keep an eye on meetups in your area or create your own! It's free unless you get into the offroad mapping, offline map downloads, etc. www.overlandbound.com/ob1

I started watching your videos years ago when you were doing more rig walk arounds than anything else. It was a turnoff because you appeared to be waiting your turn to talk. I know you knew what was coming next, but take a breath. Since then, your videos have become more authentic and enjoyable. I enjoy all of them now. Congratulations on the meaningful weekend with your daughter.
