This was my entry for the March 2024 Soap Challenge Club, where we had to made a cold process landscape soap and then frame it, so it was really two techniques in one. In this video, I show you how I made the soap and give lots of hints and tips.

Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Lisa, I am so curious how you package. Your soaps. I always go back and forth from my box to shrink rap Bio friendly labels. I don't like using boxes because it hides the beautiful design. And I'm not really happy about using shrink or plastics so curious how you solve that? I use only essential oils. So I want to wrap it in something so that the fragrance doesn't fade. What do you do?

HI. I wrap my soaps in bespoke greaseproof paper with a cardboard band. I choose not to use any plastic. A lot of my sales are via the internet, so the fact that the soap is wrapped and can't be seen is fine as they will have seen an image of the design on the website. For shows I have a display bar of each type of soap that they can pick up and smell, these are unwrapped. The customer then gets wrapped bars when I make a sale.

incredible ! How hot is you heated cabinet ?

It's not very hot, it's actually a double plate warming cabinet, the type that they use in restaurants to warm the dinner plates. It doesn't go that hot, certainly it wouldn't cook food, but it's perfect to CPOP soap. The fab thing about it is that it has a lot more space than an over so I can get quite a few soaps and my larger moulds in it.
