Here in Australia Argan oil is definitely the most expensive oil and Apricot not so much. I can't wait to try this recipe. I would swim in Argan oil if I could I love it so so much.

I got DOS one time in 7 years of making soap. And it was in a castile soap. The olive oil was good, so I have no idea why I got them. But that's it.

I would like to try kaolin clay in a soap batch. What % do you normally use? (Edit, I found it!! 😊) And by the way, I'm so glad you are back!!!! Your personality is the best!! 😁

Maaaan!!! I must start writing down the recipes! I can't believe there are 3 already, I will write them then change it a bit since I don't use palm oil. But thanks for all the information you give in each video, I always learn a new thing! Oh and I had had DOS in a couple of my first batches, I did had a lot of liquid oils and canola was a big part of that, but since I change my recipe there are no longer a problem. Have you ever consider that you never had had a DOS problem because of the copious amount of clay you put in your soaps?? Maybe the clay prevents it and sucks all the rancidity out of the oils... I don't know it makes sense to me!

For those people who do not use palm oil what can it be substituted with?

HANG ON. Do you reuse the freezer paper liner? I don't know why that never even occurred to me!

Absolutely! Recycle, reduce, reuse and all that. ❤️

Woo. I love recipe day. How is sunflower as an alternate for the canola or olive? Do you specifically look for high oleic canola or would that just produce that "slime" like olive? How does rice bran affect trace: fast, slow, or neutral?
@MrsSoapAndClay3 жыл бұрын
Sunflower and rice bran are both good subs for canola or olive and keep trace slow - I don’t necessarily look for high oleic canola.

Doing prep to try this one n ran through soap calc… in order to get your numbers the water/oils is at 32,5%… I imagine to keep it fluid but how does that affect glycerin rivers? I live in pretty hot climate… so maybe no cpop? Thoughts?
@MrsSoapAndClay3 жыл бұрын
I personally love glycerin rivers, but if you don’t, cut the liquid down to 2x lye instead of 2.4. Have fun!
@Mrsnatyg3 жыл бұрын
Meant to leave this comment in the “lots of bubbles” 😂 altho the soap calc here is 38% so I guess the question still applies 🙈

what's the best option to replace palm oil please?
@MrsSoapAndClay3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So babassu is a great alternative to palm for what it does in the soap, but babassu is technically another palm oil. If you’re not ok with that, formulating soap recipes with coconut oil instead of palm is a great place to start. Have fun!
