Castile soap has been made since ancient times. Though today many companies claim to still make Castile, but look closely at the ingredients, many use coconut and other oils.
Castile is popular due to its gentle and mild attributes and is a staple soap for those with sensitive skin. I have sped up the usual "1 year cure" by using a different process. Made with Local Texas Olive Oil. These bars look a bit "rustic" however they are sure to please all who make or use them.

💕❤️💕✨ This process is soooo much fun to do!!! But oh boy do you have to pay attention. I’ve only done this 3 times and the 3rd time the process moved along so quickly that it overflowed all over!!! What a mess that was. When it was coming up to the top of my bucket, I was yelling OH NO!!! OH NO!!! OH NO!!! And l was laughing so hard because I knew it was bound to happen to me!!! LOL Your soap came out lovely Patrick!!! I don’t call them rough looking.... I call them “Rustic” 😄😄😄

Oh yes, I have some like that too I have made cold process Castile soaps that I do like to age for one even up to two years, this is just a different method I'm not suggesting that it's better it's just another thing to try. And when the pH test is done it's just as mild as the older cure

I have to disagree that HP quickens ‘cure’ time...it quickens saponification. It still needs to cure because curing isn’t just about water evaporation, but the chemical processes that make for a milder, gentler soap.
@SoapyOaksFarm
@SoapyOaksFarm 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I can understand where you are coming from. and I don't disagree that it becomes milder still over time, I am just saying that by using this method it has reduced PH to a safe level and reduced the PH to a much more gentle neutral state. You can try and test the PH yourself, the high heat is what helps the evaporation process that speeds up conversion of the oleic acid.
