Hi golfcharlie 232. 4 years ago, I didn`t complete high school and didn`t got any high school diploma. I almost gave up everything and was depressed for a long time. Didn`t have any job or anything. I just woke up in the mornings and did nothing than just wondering what to do. I didn`t see any future. BUT, suddenly I found your channel. It just happened. From that moment everything changed seriously. I got up and woke up from hell. Went back to high school, completed it and got my diploma. After high school I applied Flight Academy and everything just became better and better. At first the start of pilot education was really hard for me, but everytime it became hard, then I just watched your vidoes and continued and REFUSED to give up. It helped med A LOT. So now i have PPL, CPL, and ATPL in my pocket. I hope that I can get job and after become captain in a 777-300 er. Thank you very much. :D

In a pilot seat, we should not be distracted with an electronic device below FL100 and during taxi on the ground. My videos are either filmed from the jumpseat as a non-duty pilot or filmed from a suction-mounted camera that doesn't require any action from my part in the critical phases of flight. Some older footage was filmed with the camera strapped onto my headset.

Golfcharlie232. I am an Air Traffic Controller at Mar del Plata airport - Buenos Aires - Argentina. Private Pilot also. I am trying to make a video with some movies that include working at the TWR, aircraft taxiing, taking off, landing, cockpits ,like B737-E190-C90-Saab 340- Etc etc. And some movieshots of me flying a Cessna182. The airport is a GA - Commercial operation, So we have from APiper Cub passing to a E190 to a Learjet 60. Being a pilot ≥ awesome. Just a question to any professionals out there: Why do pilots commonly start the #2 Engine first? Thanks. Keep it up pilots! You are the fabrics that keep this world truly connected :).

It depends on the size. Something like a King Air, the #2 engine is started first since it is closer to the electrical source that supplies power. This means on a battery start the #2 will receive more power, placing less strain on the battery and less chance of a hung start. I havent made my way into the larger equipment yet so I can only speculate. Ive been told it has to do with the Company Operations Manual and SOPs, but also which engine is cleared to start by the pushback crew. Some airlines hut down the #2 engine when taxiing to the gate to save fuel and allow quicker access by ground crew once at the gate, so it may be another means of balancing the times on each engine.

3:07 Why is the altitude set to 50000ft?

Most likely so the automated climb / speed function called VNAV (vertical navigation) would see that they wanted to climb to a higher altitude in the same time frame, and would therefore increase pitch and if necessary thrust to achieve that altitude in the same timeframe. Once nearing their actual altitude, not more than 41000 usually, probably more like 37000, they would reset the altitude bug on the MCP to the correct altitude, and the plane would slow its climb automatically to ensure it didn't over climb, and the plane would have got here much faster that it would have done. If you see this GolfCharlie232, then please let me know how i did. As a flight sim addict i like to pretend i know lots about the NG, and about the auto flight system, but in truth i know as much as a boiled turnip hollowed out!

Someone must have tempered with that because the maximum certified altitude of the 737-800 is 41000ft.

As you can see VNAV is selected so the airplane will fly the altitude given for each waypoint calculated by the FMC. But it doesnt go higher than the selected MCP altitude so he had just put in 50 000 in order for the VNAV to do its thing

you know, as I watched your video, the only thing, I mean the only thing I miss from airline flying was breaking out of an overcast and skimming the tops at 350knots. Takeoffs and landings, always great the rest of the job was politics and boredom........punctuated by a few emergencies. When I did it, the pay was high. Now, I think not.

Great video ! Could you share the flight led gs taken on camera and airports shown? I could figure a A320 caught in-flight from Vueling, an air view of the Thames river in London, the Eiffel tower in Paris, the Teide volcano cone in Tenerife, Madrid by night (not sure) so I'd guess you flew intra-European routes, maybe for a Tui subsiduary, RyanAir?

Very nice video -- but still have to mute the music! But when you adjust the speed (make it fast on final and then slow it down just before touchdown) it isn't real. though we enjoyed this, thank you! So many flight videos are "Go-Pros" from the cabin, (with some noisy kid or crying baby) looking out over the wing, dull and boring after you see the flaps on take-off and the spoilers and flaps on landing. The pilot's/flight deck view is SO much better!
