My uncle picked me up from an electronics store in a snow storm. I couldn’t get on the bus with my purchases and couldn’t get a taxi. He picked me up with no complaints. Later, my aunt told me he hated to drive in the snow. Uncle Jimmy is great at smoothing, but also reality checks.

I watched episode 6 with my brother (we watched the whole show together) and we both felt like we couldn't breathe by the end of it. All of the tension moves so fast, and growing up in a family that is also rather messy and dysfunctional made it so easy to see what things would cause the explosions. It can be a word, a gesture, or even a simple look, and it sets everything off. We never had something to this extent, but the yelling and the fighting and the guilt-tripping was all textbook. It hit me so hard, and I really loved the episode, but I don't think it's one I will sit down to watch again. Not easily, anyway. But I think season 2 overall really fills in the holes that season 1 started, and it explains everything on a much deeper, realistic level. I really want season 3 because I need this story to continue!

I watched this with my husband when it came out. I had no issues with the screaming and yelling, but it made him physically ill and could barely watch. After, he asked why I didn't have as big of a reaction and I realized it was almost comforting because all of my family get togethers on my Mom's side were very similar when I was growing up. My sister and I used to joke that it wasn't Christmas until the adults were screaming at each other. It's not like this anymore, mostly because a lot of them are now gone, but I truly didn't realize how traumatic my upbringing was because of the adults behavior. I'm happy to say my holidays are nothing like this anymore.

That’s so interesting, and I’m sorry to hear. People have such different reactions, my friend was raised in similar circumstances and this episode upset him so much he didn’t finish it and abandoned watching the show altogether
