What LEO's can do is limited. They are trying to control the masses. So far, I'm amazed they're doing it. I grew up in So Cal. Where I've lived for the last 40 years is a "stand your ground" state. This gives you natural "want" to unite and support your neighbors" We stand strong and well-armed. As a result, those defending their property and loved ones are not held responsible if we have to put a bullet in a brain to protect ourselves.... Think about restrictions that prevent one from standing their ground. Something's got to change.

When I lost everything in a big PG&E fire, I left the evacuation zone a couple of days later to go get groceries for me and my neighbors. When I came back and hit the CHP checkpoint, the cop told me he couldn't let me back in. I told him I was just making a grocery run for me and my neighbors and showed him all the groceries I was bringing back. He said he was sorry he couldn't let me back in. We talked for a little while longer and I told him what it was like when the fire went through and 40 of us were crammed into a small wooden church with 7 firefighters and 2 engines outside trying to save all of us. And how they started running out of water at 2 a.m. and at 4 a.m. finally 2 tankers made it through to refill the engines. After hearing my stories the cop looked at his watch and said "I'm going on break now and I'll be back in 15 minutes," and he drove off. He did that just so I could get through. I think after hearing my stories, he didn't want to add to my troubles, but he wasn't going to disobey his orders either and leaving for a few minutes is the solution he came up with. God bless him.

This seems to be a universal problem: people who evacuate are never allowed back. I'm in central British Columbia, Canada and during a series of large wildfires over the last few years homeowners were treated like children. The authorities have unwittingly caused a reaction: some of us have learned that evacuation is not an option. So....we have standby diesel generators, underground water cisterns and roof-top sprinklers, and of course sensible landscaping with defensible spaces around all buildings. We also stockpile, at all times, enough food and water for a one month minimum. In my case, on acreage, we can be self-contained for four months, and could scrape by for six.
