Missed the first 30 sec of the confrontation...
Dad was upset with a foul committed on his child and came onto the field after the alleged offending boy. The dad was then restrained by his sons coach. Then after the game (about 5 mins later) the dad came after the alleged offending boy again and had to be physically restrained by his sons two coaches. (Location - Art Dye Park, American Fork, Utah)

I lost my Dad 2 years ago (don't feel bad...he made it to his 94th birthday with a sharp mind), but seeing this makes me appreciate him from my youth baseball days. He couldn't make it to a whole lot of my games because of his work, and when he did make it, it often wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd inning. But when he came in late like that, I never knew he was there until I looked up in the bleachers. He came, he watched the game, he cheered with the other parents, but he never once drew attention to himself with any antics. I appreciated that back then when I saw how some parents behaved, and I appreciate it even more now, watching how insane parents have become watching youth sports.

The point everyone is missing is that the guy was going after a kid. He should be banned from all kids sports.
@peterb6783

Here in the Netherlands not only gets the parent banned for life the kids also get baned for life. Meaning he or she can never play again. If you get angry at the sideline you get banned for 3 months, second time 6 months and third time for life plus the child of that parent. For going after someone the third goes in effect. These rules got put in effect for because of fights between parent and parents that told there child to hurt the other.

Very common these days to have those many token ALPHAS around us everywhere, that simply don't understand what they are really doing .....although, because they are ALPHAS, they genuinely believe they know EVERYTHING about what they are doing. I hate to say it, but if this ALPHA had not been restrained ....he would have been slapped with a COURT RESTRAINING ORDER for the rest of the season and this would have put on his record .....FOR LIFE. Sadly, because he is an ALPHA, he would deny this would ever happen to him ....UNTIL IT DOES. They should have let him do whatever he was going to do .....and this would have served as a true "LIFE LESSON" for EVERYONE on this pitch.

True. But I also hate videos like this because there’s no context. The father was certainly ugly in the video, but what happened before the video started? Why was the father upset? His son had his arm around him as they walked off the field. That’s not the reaction of a child that’s upset and embarrassed. It’s quite possible that something happened and his father was defending his child. So when I see videos like this I’m hesitant to be extremely critical of the father when the video didn’t show what led up to that incident. Of course more times than not the father is being a total asshole and it is in fact a sad commentary on today’s society what it’s not always the case so I’m hesitant to be critical without context.

On a lighter note, but same type of situation I always remember the first and only time my mother came to watch me play. I had broken into the senior team at a fairly young age, and was more than used to playing against fully grown men. I remember giving an "older" player a fairly torrid time this particular day and after about half an hour he had had enough of me just running rings around him. He waited until I got the ball with my back to him, and he just cleaned me up, no attempt to play the ball, right in front of where my mum and dad were standing. This was back in the day when you could expect to cop something like this at least once or twice a game. After I had stopped seeing stars, and got to my feet I couldnt believe what I was seeing. There was my mother, belting the living daylights out of this bloke with her umbrella...my dad was trying to pull her away from him, without much success , but the thing was the rest of the crowd were in fits of laughter, even his own team mates had a laugh as well. After she calmed down, my dad put her in the car and took her home. Everyone thought it was hilarious, and even the bloke she belted had a laugh over it after the game. Needless to say that was the one and only time she saw me play.

My dad coached me twice in baseball. Once as the head in t-ball and once as the assistant coach on my high school team. He was a teacher, and he was and still is a better man and father than I probably deserved as a petulant teen. He treated me the exact same as he did every other guy on the team. The only time he got kicked out of a game was after our head coached was kicked out. The opposing team was deliberately releasing their bats after swings and hurling them at us just to rattle us. The umpire was a homer who wouldn’t do anything about it. Well after both our coaches got kicked out what do you think a bunch of 16-18 year olds did? We brawled the next time it happened. Most satisfying forfeit I’ve ever had.

My older brother faced charges for threatening and assaulting an official. Mom was in trouble for the same reason. Both faced serious charges. I had my way around the house being a sports official!! My Dad never went onto the field/ice nor over stepped boundaries with any official including myself. No matter who the ref is or who you are, you do NOT harass, threaten or assault the official because you can face serious charges especially from the league and sanctions

This is what you get with organized sports…parents out of control. Growing up in Liverpool, England, it was a matter of getting some friends and making goal posts with our costs and away we went.

No, he didn't make it. Needed to take some Midol (menstrual cramp med) and lay down in a dark room to cuddle with his Xbox. Probably had a good cry and a hot cup of tea too.

Hopefully this guy was barred from ever being at another game. Especially after wanting to do something to a kid. There should've been some kind of charges filed against him. People like this are everywhere unfortunately. You have to wonder what their kids turn out to be like.

Poor kid. A parent should never put his kid in a situation like that. It’s devastating to the kid. I hate that. I want to give that kid a hug and toss a football around with him. As far as we know, though, the guy can be an incredible dad who made a very poor decision to be an idiot for 30 minutes. Maybe something happened to his kid that he attempted to address civilly, but it got carried away. Who knows. Just a bad BAD situation.

All the parents in my daughter's softball league had to sign a zero tolerance form at the beginning of the season. Basically it said no heckling, swearing, or harassing anyone on or off the field during a game. I thought it was overkill and wondered why such a form was necessary... now I know.
