It's hard to believe it's been 16 years since the 2006 World Cup, and the controversial/legendary end to the unbelievable career of Zinedine Zidane! While it's all a matter of opinion, for me, Zidane is one of the all-time greats and a huge reason why the Adidas Predator was and is as popular and successful as it's been. There was one pair however, that never released to the public, and that's the gold Absolutes he wore in the final match of his career. Thos boots were for Zidane and Zidane only. Until now.
In today's video we take a closer at the 2006 World Cup Final, Zidane exclusive, Adidas Predator Absolute remakes, in the iconic gold and white! Are they still good 16 years later, and how do the Absolutes compare to today's Predator Edge? Are these the most iconic Predators of all-time?

I have a huge amount of fondness for the 2006 World Cup. A lot of matches were great, the stadiums were amazing, atmosphere incredible, mostly great football boots (looking at you, F50 TUNIT), and brilliant ad campaigns. I think that Adidas had their best World Cup ads ever and Nike had the greatest adverts in the history of the sport with the Joga Bonito series. Love that Adidas brought back these special Preds, now if they'd only reissue the Teamgeist ball...

Zidane against brazil in WC2006 is one of the best individual performances I've ever seen. The way he danced around the pitch effortlessly was so beautiful. Golden boots for a golden player, legendary stuff.

The biggest pain in the world is that boot makers never announce when they’ll release these no official announcement or anything. I couldn’t not find these on the adidas app ever and I checked every day after I saw them on footy headlines. I wish they’d have an app similar to SNKRS

My favorite pair of boots ever was a soft ground pair of the Predator Absolutes and I wish I could get a brand new pair of them today. I wish they would release some remakes that were a little more affordable so that I wouldn’t feel like a crazy person by playing in them.

Can we please start calling them tributes instead of remakes? The Absolute had quite a complex forefoot shape, which these do not really go after. Stitching is different proportionally. The synthetic material wrapping around the bottom of the shoe (with an additional hint to the Teamgeist logo the tributes don‘t have) was shinier back then and was stitched to the boot with a folded seam rather than an open cut. Don‘t get me wrong: Yes, adidas should absolutely(!) bring these back whenever possible (lots of great colorways back then), but reviewers should in my opinion highlight the differences or should avoid calling them remakes.

In my opinion, resale prices are completely made up. Lots of high prices on eBay, and no actual sales at these prices. When these already retail for $350, I can’t imagine there’s very many people willing to pay more than that. Football boots aren’t sneakers.

All my friends with stable jobs 30 year old plus aren’t scared of buying expensive boots. True they’re not sneakers but some do hold higher value due to rarity
