The vast majority of consumers judge football boots on two things, features and looks. New tech is typically a major draw and an attractive colorway will typically go a long way in convincing consumers to try something new. Mizuno being one of those brands with a very dedicated following, unfortunately did not get the response they were hoping for when they launched the latest Rebula Cup, both because of the look and the seemingly "low-tech" approach of the boots. Many wrote it off almost immediately, but were we as consumers wrong?
In today's video we take a closer look at the MIJ Mizuno Rebula Cup in the latest Ignition Red colorway, a far better looking set of colors compared to what was available at launch, and an opportunity for a new perspective on what these are all about. No doubt the Rebula 3 that came before it was great, but was Mizuno really as wrong as we thought with their replacement? He always covers everything for the true football boot nerds like us to make a buying decision, or to just geek out 💯⚽️ You should treat yourself and get a new brand of boots you haven’t tried before on discount or something. If you play a lot it is so nice to rotate boots or bring multiple pairs out to play.

The pandemic lockdown was the first long break from soccer for a lot of us, but I hope you guys are finding way to get back out and play. Last spring was personally my longest break from ⚽️ in 12 years... I want new boots as a way to enjoy my playing time even more. I am thinking of the Ultra 1.2 Lazer Touch, or some Mizuno Reubula 3’s. Thanks to these awesome reviews from Josh, it is time to treat myself well and buy some unnecessary new football boots ✨👏🏻

I recently picked up the Rebula 3 Elite in the Tokyo Nights colourway. It took me a long while to get used to them, as they're largely a blackout colourway (I'm used to having bright and colourful / white boots, usually takedowns) I felt a bit sceptical at first purchasing a high end boot, in a 'boring' colourway, but my gosh I'm so glad I did. Really comfortable boots, which a previous version of me wouldn't have touched because the colourway is "boring". All about the balance.

how is the shooting with this one? played with morelia zero and was extremely comfortable but my shots on goal got worse. Used to have phantom venoms but they broke and i noticed i shot better and harder with them. Even tried vapor 13 and my shots were so bad. Is the phantom venoms more my style then or you recommend another boot to try?

I have Bought the Nike Phantom GT Elite in FG studs. I have bought them in a 8.5 uk size which I wear in my other Nike boots. There is some room at the front so my feet slide a little bit and I got blisters on my heel. I can’t get a smaller size because they would be too tight and I can go up a size because they would be too big. Do you have any ideas or tips on what I should do. For example, like wearing double socks to fill out the boot, the hot water trick or something. I really like the boots but just wanted to ask as ur videos have helped before

These are great boots no doubt but the Rebula 3 just felt better on feet in my opinion. If you’re spending this much on football boots though it’s got to be the Neo 3 betas; more focused feeling and look much better. Btw this colourway is more orange in person than it looks on screen

Unfortunately my ‘Made in Japan’ Mizuno order showed up as the made in Vietnam take down model. I should have known that sale price of $129.00 was too good to be true. When compared side by side to my friend’s made in japan rebula cups, my boots had far stiffer leather. I rarely wear them now that I received some free black and gold puma kings from a from a friend. I also tried puma ultras recently and much prefer the touch from the puma kings. The ultras have 0 touch. True barefoot like Josh says, which makes simple touches difficult sometimes

I've fallen in love with Mizuno over the last year. My first purchase was the relatively cheap Monarcida Neo Select AG at roughly £40. I'd previously only ever used astro trainers rather than astro boots (I'm pretty old) and was utterly astounded as to how good the AG boots are. Since then I've purchased a SG Mizuno MIJ and I'm thinking of buying an FG model..... Possibly the Rebula Cup but I actually prefer the launch colourway to the red. Hope that helps. Bob 🇬🇧

Hey mate in all honesty mizuno boots tend to be a bit bigger than you expect in my experience. If you measure your feet to get the japenese size then you'll get the right ones.

It is really easy to find a pair of Puma king Platinums or Puma One 5.1 / 20.1 on sale, they are quite good and you can get them for about 80$ or a little more

Does anyone live in the Dallas area, and know a shop that has MIJ Mizunos. I've been really interested in a pair since Josh started going on about them recently. I really like leather boots, and want to try them; however I have narrow heels which leaves me mostly relegated to Nike boots. I don't want to order a pair of Mizunos only to find they don't fit.
