I first watched the video of people reacting when they're told they're beautiful. And it was so inspiring, like only one sentence told in a moment of feeling let down, not good enough and convincing yourself you're non-existent compared to others. Then, I saw this and I just... it was so true and, sadly, so common. What you said carried emotion and I couldn't close the video until the last second had passed. We love our life only in the moments we laugh for the camera and upload photos online for others to see how "happy" we are. It's sad, really. Living your life through Instagram posts and Facebook likes and Snapchat stories. I was in vacation not long ago and we were traveling on the mountain. Others were so preoccupied with taking pictures they missed the bigger picture; they were only interested in showing their co-workers what a great time they had and letting their families know what wonderful scenery they had in front of them. Unfortunately, it is the world we live in and few people believe in changing it.

What gets me the most is when couples who live together post on social media how lucky they are to have them in their lives and how much they love each other instead of just saying it to each others faces. Its so weird to me for couples to need their relationship validated to much. I know this man who will post on facebook publicly to his girlfriend saying things like "Babe. You are the most wonderful women I've ever known and you are a wonderful mother. I love you so much. Thank you for my Imcubus tickets. We're going to have an amazing time. Love you babe" Its weird because he could just tell her that to her face. She does the same thing. I had to delete them because I couldn't take seeing it any more.

I'll be honest I usually hate poems/speeches/the like that talk about social media bc I find they always say the exact same thing as if it's original-- I hope that doesn't come across as very pretentious, I just tend to find that I've heard it all before. but I REALLY liked this poem, I've never heard it said in this way or this style and I found it really impactful. really really powerful and well written.

What you just laid out was how unsatisfying life can be if you're not aware of your purpose for being here. The coping trends that people follow fade away pretty quickly.
