Arcanum, it's so satisfying to see all the simultaneous damage ticks (especially if you're using Spectre Armor). It's like launching a barrage of nukes. Blaze is cool but the stellar tune performs similarly and the functionality is nothing special.

I usually use Arcanum if normal mode but Blaze if Expert and above. Arcanum has more raw power so on Normal where the Moon Lord fight is pretty easy I use it, but Blaze has better homing so on Expert and above I use it instead to focus on dodging.

When i use the arcanum i never aim directly at the target; assuming they’re following my path i just shoot around me and when they try to follow me they essentially walk into a minefield. It’s like if you shoot 20 or so or whatever the max is and then spawn your boss and it’s so much dps and so satisfying

One great thing about the Arcanum is it's benefits when playing multiplayer. If one player distracts the Moon Lord and runs away, the mage player can stack up hundreds of the Arcanum projectiles. The other player can then loop back and guide the Moon Lord through the projectiles for tons of damage. I used this strategy with a friend once and it worked really well with the Specter Hood as you could then heal the other player after their run while still dealing some hefty damage. We also used to stack up loads before the fight by throwing them into a wall allowing them to slow down and stay in one area ready to home in as soon as Moon Lord spawns. This is the first comment I've made on a sockrteez video but I have to say that I've found these videos really entertaining, I've watched the majority of your catalogue at this point and I love the content! Keep it up!

Mage tbh is the most underrated class nowadays. Most DPS throughout the game until post-Moon Lord but requires more skill to play than the other three classes

Summoner sometimes requires more skill. Late hardmode armour has the same defense as late prehardmode melee armour. Any mistake takes away like half your health.

I've played all classes. Never even attempted to finish summoner because WHO THE FUCK ACTUALLY FIGHTS THE PUMPKIN MOON IN A REGULAR PLAYTHROUGH???? Yeah, mage is good. I wouldn't say there's a definitive best one, but it's in my top 2.

One thing I do against the Moon Lord (Which I think more people should do!) Fly into the air and shoot Arcanum’s straight down at the ground. They’ll start moving slower, but come back up at you. Count how long it takes for the Moon Lord to spawn, have a stream of projectiles floating upwards. The Moon Lord spawns with its eyes open, and if you simply move down as he spawns, his top eye will be hit with each Arcanum projectile and immediately be reduced to a small amount of health or be destroyed outright (Depending on difficulty!) within like, 3~ seconds. It’s just a random thing I do, but it’s easy and helps getting rid of the laser quick!

Fun fact: the daybreak and phantasm are the only pillar weapons to not have their respective pillar fragment type at the start of their name i e: *solar* eruption, *nebula* arcanum, *stardust* dragon staff

The reason why the nebula arcanum struggles with moonlord is because when the eye’s close the projectile stops homing in so what you want to do is attack the eyes with the nebula blaze then switch to the arcanum afterwards for the heart.

I remember back then i used to craft both. Than I started to craft blaze only, for moonlord. Now I'm back to craft both, as razorblade isn't as great as it was pre 1.4.4, so arcanum is great at group control.

I've found that a really good way to use the nebular arcanum is to fire a ton of them above you where you moonlord main eye will be. When he spawns, they will absolutely destroy the eye because of their ramped up damage. But after that, nebular blaze makes good work of moonlord

The best way to farm things like golem and planters post pillars. If you spam the arcanum until just before they start despawnjng, spawn in the boss and the massive amount of damage will boss super quickly, only taking a little more power after this in master mode.

Both the Vortex weapons are basically the same in terms of use and functionality, while the Stardust Dragon is just a better version of the Stardust Cell Staff

​@@FatMCSteveWell, the vortex weapons are actually decently different; Phantasm does a good bit higher damage due to the extra ghost arrows but requires accuracy while Vortex Beater has homing missiles and can use chloro bullets for stuff like Moon Lord which you really want to be really far away from.

Day 1 of telling you about the spectre armor with hood healing doohickey. If you make three vertical chambers with 4 statues each and a nimbus cloud in 2 of them and a crimson rod cloud in one, you get insane healing. Apparently the raindrops count as mana based damage so it will heal you as long as you use the hood. With the deadly/demonic reforge you can heal anywhere from 1-15 per orb that heals you. You can make a 4th chamber and use the clinger staff but that only will heal you from the initial damage and not the cursed flame debuff.

I do think every Lunar Pillar weapon needs to at least be good at either Moonlord or the Pillar event itself. The Arcanum is powerful but its slow projectiles make it extremely hard to use in the fast paced fight of the Moonlord. Though a high damage, high crowd control weapon do wonders for the Pillars if you need to fight them again. The Razorblade Typhoon, likely the next best option, in my experience does low damage, even if it is mindless. Against the Solar Pillar in particular, low damage, high sustain, can be a death sentence as they charge at you really fast.

As someone who usually chooses melee weapons over anything, i have often found myself using the nebula arcanum as a event destroyer. It's slower movement and insane dps makes it an absolute S-tier weapon for events :)

Before the moonlord spawns, stack up a load of nebula arcanum projectiles in one place and they will all go to one of his weak points and absolutely nuke it at the start of the fight. After that, switch to the blaze for tyhe rest of the fight

the nebula arcanum for me is a BEAUTY because of the fact I had a CRIT BUILD meaning it was like having 20 black holes attacking ONE enemy dealing 80-90 damage PER HIT That is so OVERPOWERED

I’ve been a mage main for years. My goto plan has always been to stack the arcanum just before moonlord spawns, you’ll see the healthbar instantly drop by like 10%. Then I just switch to the blaze and make a run for it, so the compliment each other well tbh.

The mage class is my favorite of the four, and yes, I admit that at the beginning it can be a little complicated or tedious to use, but it ends up being excellent. Mage post Moon Lord, is a true glass cannon, compensating for his low resistance with abysmal DPS

Well issue is that the pillar weapons are basically ONLY useful for ML as many other pre Pillar weapons do crowd controll better (except for solar eruption probably) And against ML the glove is ALOT better solely because it homes.

Arcanum is an underrated JEWEL of late hardmode. Several of these can obliterate almost any boss it touches. Moreover, like the Vilethorn, it's another one of those weapons that is great for crowding the space on-screen and coaxing bosses to fly face first into the projectiles.

If you are willing to get even riskier with your ML assault, you can utterly obliterate both the Nebula Blaze and the Nebula Arcanum in DPS/Clear Time by using a combo of Razorpine and Betsy's Wrath. The Betsy's Curse debuff lasts 10 seconds and reduces the ML's Hands to 0 Defense, the Head to 10 Defense, and the Heart to 30 Defense.
