For Alliance, you can get the bow Raptor's End from a quest chain in Wetlands. It has 1 more top end than the crossbow from the elite dwarves. You just need to kill Sarltooth.

MM spec with BM rune/Lion/Flanking strike to round out melee DPS when you inevitably get trained in PvP seems really nice.

I have a feeling BiS for anyone using aspect of the lion will be the highest stats possible since we get 20% stats from it. Armor Piercer from RFK gives +11 agi and is lvl 24. If you can't get the megachopper from Gnomer, this might be a good alternative for melee hunter.

I’ll probably just use impaling harpoon from DM until I can get the polearm from BFD raid, though of course if you find yourself in an RFK farming group trying to get mantle of thieves armor piercer could be reasonable to obtain.

Yeah its probably best to avoid questing at 25 unless they involve attunement to the raid or something like that. That xp is way more valuable than the gold quests pay out

Great video, thanks for this. I just wanted to add, maybe tailoring would be good as well. Those epic boots they can make that you can use to reduced all damage you take by 50% could be very useful in PvP as a defensive cooldown.

Great video, thanks for the info! One thing I think is good to know is that while alliance hunters will most likely not get Humbert’s Helm, they will get Tunic of Westfall. The stats on it are fantastic and makes up for not having Humbert’s. And I believe tunic will carry you far in phase 2 as well. I usually don’t replace it til my 40s when I’ve done questing as an agi user.

Any theory craft about pets? Correct me if im wrong, but if pet damage is normalised, wouldn't it be more beneficial for flanking strikes to have pet with slowest attack speed possible? As far as i can tell its just a young bear from elwynn forest, but bears generally have low damage multiplier.

Made some tests with Flanking Strike and 2 different pets. A level 8 wolf with 2.0 atk speed and the Black Bear from DunMorogh with 2.5, both max satisfaction. The wolf is doing between 6-9dmg when the bear already hits for 12, so I guess the skill is affected by the pet's damage range.

I'm so torn on what race to play for hunter.. I've always played alliance over the years and have played every alliance race of hunter at least once. I'm rolling horde for SOD and it's so hard to pick my personal favorite race of Troll because pet damage with pet scaling and axe specialization for melee hunter... probably going to have to go orc

Though male Troll has imho better stance look with bow then orc or any other hunter...only one that is equal in that regard is female Nelf. Also muscular heavy bodies doesn't suit well agility classes aesthetically speaking imho.

AP normalization doesn't equalize damage across fast and slow weapons. It just gives a fixed multiplier to attackpower scaling based on the type of weapon you are using (dagger, 1h, 2h) rather than using the weapons own speed. The damage of the weapon itself is still a lot more for slow weapons than fast weapons, and gets added to the strike as normal. 2H weapons also get slightly higher AP multiplier than 1h IIRC (1.7 for daggers, 2,4 for 1h, 2,7(?) for 2h) not sure about that last one though.

I do think so yeah. I'm much more interested in Melee Hunter at lvl 40 bracket tho. I think things are starting to feel really good at this point because you have access to much more quality gear.

I like the idea of Gnomer being available as a 5-man, it makes it kind of a pseudo hard mode dungeon that rewards you with a very good quest reward for managing to complete. It would make the BFD raid gear feel more valuable as well.

As BM Hunter who likes to solo instances i prefer faster ranged weapon because we dont have skills to use just autoshot. Also for tenking there is no better pet then Owls with learned aoe screech skill from those vultures in west westfall. I tamed elit one in wetland from which hunter get Heart of the Lion rune and he is from the start 25 lvl. With my warlock friend as duo we cleared all instance with ease and without Meta form.

I actually have 4 characters planned for SOD but will probably only seriously play 2 of them and the first one is definitely going to be a Hunter! Interestingly I usually prefer hybrids and Hunter is the lone surviving pure DPS class in SoD.

The way I read that tooltip, it meant we could tame those as companion pets. Like, the ones that just sit there and do nothing, not a hunter pet. Although I do want to throw a deer into vicious melee combat.

I would still probably go orc even if you are wanting to do a lone wolf pvp build, but honestly, if lone wolf pvp build is your only goal, they all could work. Orc stun resist is still probably the most valuable racial, but you can get mileage out of all the others.

I vaguely remember one of the devs saying they had plans to make up for the weapon specialization bonuses that certain races get so that someone doesn't feel forced to go human rogue for example. I'm not exactly sure what they would have in mind though? Also I wonder if those are the only racials they plan to balance.

I played and leveled up every class to 60 in vanilla wow except for hunter and pala so I decided to roll with Hunter as my main for SoD but I just cant decide between Dwarf and NE. NE feign death into Shadowmeld sounds extremely usefull but then Dwarves are just better aesthetically for me. Is having Shadowmeld a must long term ? I mean for all phases and later endgame

I feel that you should ask yourself if you prefer to play Horde or Alliance, there. For what is worth, and since your questions seem to be aimed at PvP, Shadowmeld used to be really fun for ambushes. Specially when Aimed Shot didn't break it until you finished casting. Not sure if that's "fixed" in Classic or not.

Nah, if you really like troll it will be fine. If we were talking arena going for rank 1, yeah I'd probably sway you to orc, but troll is still really good. Berserking is not even bad in pvp.

Don't forget boars get -10% damage and mana pets(Serpent) suffer the same issue + mana. Although your pet will be dead within 4 attacks so perhaps only burst matters.

You're confusing the mana issue a little bit. Pets don't have mana bars at all, they have focus. SOME beasts that have mana bars when you tame them will have broken stats, that's why I recommended Washte Pawne. He does not have that issue. Wind serpents also do not have any negative dmg modifier. Their stats are base hp base armor and 1.07 for atk.

there is an Aaliance only 2h mace called Glacial Stone that you can get from a quest reward. No stats, but it has a 75 frost damage proc on an 8 second cooldown and excellent base damage

Still haven't decide Horde or Alliance :D Alliance always seem to be best in PvE and with Paladins I won't be forced to go Aspect of Lion. Also shorter queue times to PvP. But Horde is just cooler.

Dont worry so much about faction balance. Their implementing forced faction balance on the servers. Once it reaches a certain percentage for one faction that faction will be locked off until more toons are made on the opposite faction.
